Slim fingers sifted through the pages of a rather large book. Her head rested in the palm of her other hand, fingers peeking through her brown and wavy hair. Maia was interested in learning more about what Unnish people had to say on the powers of the human mind. The book she had selected was particularly humorous to her. It was telling people how they could find their own inner power by just practicing. Yeah right. One had to be born with a gift, not acquire it unless by some divine intervention.
She sat in the back of the store in a large comfy leather brown chair. Posture was amazingly straight, unlike most that slouch rather than sit straight. Legs were crossed and bi-colored eyes, one brown and one blue, were intent on the words in the book. She was wearing blue jeans that formed to her legs. A hole was cut where her knees were, exposing tan skin. She wore a white sleeveless shirt underneath a see-through multicolored (blues and greens) t-shirt. It was silky in texture and looked like it was bought in nice store. She wore white Adidas tennis shoes with three sapphire stripes on the sides.

The door slammed open and an African-American woman that looked to be in her mid-forties to mid-fifties shouted from behind the main counter, "Hey! Be careful with that door, honey, I just had that fixed yesterday!" Pyro ignored her and moved through the narrow isles; he barely glanced at the girl he saw in the armchair as he passed her, though he must have looked pissed - because he was. Ooh, was he pissed. If it hadn't been for that bitch back in the alleyway, that cop probably never would have recognized him.

Maia had been so absorbed in her book, had she not felt the small breeze as he went by she might not have realized he was there. She looked up and watched the rather irritated looking man wander the isles. She would have thought nothing of him had it not been for the sunglasses he was wearing. Who wears sunglasses in a book store?
”There is no sun in here you know.” She wasn’t trying to be rude or anything, just stating a fact as she closed her book. She got up and headed back to where she got it and placed it gently back on to the book shelf.

"Go fuck yourself, bitch." He went right on down the aisles until he was well into the small shop; had it not been for the place into which he'd been chased, he would have just lit the place up as soon as the cops showed up. Considering the fact that he didn't feel like digging his way out, even though his body temp was more than sufficient to get out alive and unscathed, he instead pulled out a small revolver and waited...

Somebody’s in a foul mood. Of course she thought this to herself. She wasn’t about to make him any madder than he already seemed to be. She watched as he hurried down the isle. At the end of it her bi colored eyes went wide as she noticed he had pulled out a gun. Well that wasn’t good.
”What has you so upset?” She would probably regret continuing to speak to this man, but she would rather try and talk him into a more relaxed state rather than having him shoot up the place. It was the only bookstore she liked after all.

"Hey!" BANG. CRASH! A cop's bullet had shattered one of the glass storefront windows and narrowly missed Pyro's head as he ducked behind a bookcase. He popped two shots off, dropping the cop like a sack o' bricks, as two more showed up and popped off another three rounds.
"Fuck off, bitch, I'm busy!"
((Pardon the French. XD ))

Just as the glass shattered she ducked down as a bullet whizzed past. Oh hell no! No her book store! Eyes flashed angrily as yet again more bullets flew by and yet he still had enough time to cuss her out yet again. She’d had enough with this. Maia wasn’t about to let her bookstore get ripped.
She stood up and quickly she put her hand out in front of her. Concentrating she brought her hand back slowly to her chest and time slowed down for her, meaning she looked like a blur if that if you could see her. For everyone else time seemed normal, but for her she watched as the bullet slowly inched along in the air.
Hastily she walked over to this man who was now inching along in time like a worm. Grabbing him she brought him over into the realm of slowed down reality. That was probably enough to shock anyone as bullet’s slowly flied through the air like slugs.
”You’re not going to hurt this book shop. Follow me. But don’t try and pull away from my grip or you’ll go straight back into normal time.” She hoped that he would allow her to take him away from the police as it seemed his intent to do so. She headed for a back door in the book shop that led to storage and then to outside on the street where everyone seemed to be stopped.
She let go of him at this point and then the people resumed their normal walking as time sifted back to normal for her and him.
”There. Now you can go shoot them from outside.” She crossed her arms in front of her. Hopefully he wouldn’t do anything drastic at this point.

As time suddenly whizzed back into action, the cops and Pyro turned to face each other at exactly the same moment - but Pyro was quicker; with two successive shots, he dropped both of the cops and turned to the bookstore. Now that he was outside, he threw his arm out. Drag me about like some damn rag doll, will you? All right, bitch - take THIS. A fireball erupted and totally destroyed the front door and frame, soaring into the bookstore and lighting it up; then he popped another shot at random into the shop and tossed the gun in - no fingerprints. He busted into the car just outside, hotwired it, and roared off; he was soon out of sight...

As he drove off all she could do was stare at the blazing bookstore. She wanted to cry, but she was so mad at the man she couldn’t even manage tears, let alone the blazing heat. Eyes fell upon the ground as so many cops lay either dead or injured. Next time he would not be so lucky if he didn’t learn to control that damn temper of his. Little did he know how easy it would have been if she decided to just take his gun and shoot him while time was slowed down for her. He wouldn’t have stood a chance. But she was not that kind of person.
Walking across the street she sat down on a bench as she watched her bookstore continue to burn. All those books. Sirens from fire trucks could be heard before seen and as soon as they arrived they began to extinguish the flame. More police showed up as well. One of them walked over to her.
”Did you see anything?” He asked her. Should she tell him what he looked like or play dumb? He had been so rude to her and yet she couldn’t bring herself to tattle.
”No Sir.” She said with a calm manner though she was still in disbelief that her beautiful book store was on fire. And the lady inside who didn’t stand a chance at getting out. He had burned her alive just so he could get away. And yet she wouldn’t tell the officer what he looked like. Perhaps it was the red haired man’s lucky day so to speak. Maia was a descent person no matter how rude the other might be to her. Somebody would teach him a lesson some day.
