Title: Those that go bump
Description: Open

Thorn - June 29, 2005 06:22 PM (GMT)
It’s at night, when the sun goes down, that all the daemons come out, it’s when the moon is high in the sky that the werewolves assemble, it’s when the sun has sunk out of sight that the vampires venture out of their hiding. It’s when the daylight has faded, leaving the world in total darkness that the things that go ‘Bump’ come forth from concealment. Some of them are dangerous, they’ll do terrible things to anything they touch, some won't do a thing unless provoked. SOme of them are gentle, it is those who are most dangerous. Some are completly harmless.

Dressed in black, Jehovah Kristi looks like one of these creatures. His pants are like dress slacks, similar and hang only slightly loose on his legs and waist. His shirt is a black muscle shirt, form fitting, highlighting his strong torso, thin waist, and broad shoulders. He's wearing a cotton material cgloves, surgical laytex gloves beneath that. His hair is long and dyed black with bloody red streaks pulled through it, worn in many little braids. His face is thin and narrow, prominent cheek bones he inherited from his mother, his father’s, damn the bastard’s soul, green eyes and nose.

He walks the barren streets of the fast food district in silence. No one is out, it's dakr, it's raining, or rather, drizzling lightly now. No one comes out in the rain and dark in this area. But Jehovah does. And he’s whistling. Earlier he’d walked down the street with something over his shoulder. That something is pale, almost the size of his own body. In fact, it was a body. It was the naked body of a dead man, limbs all broken and twisted in odd directions, his throat cut, and part of his genitals severed. The body has been scrubbed clean of every evidence. The body cleaned with bleach. Where there should be buckets of blood, there is only a clean body. It paints an eerie picture for the cops, his own men. Jehovah had disposed of the body over a low white picket fence where it would be seen as soon as possible. Now, about twenty minutes later, he’s got an aliby, he's several blocks away, and he's whistling a tune walking back towards the gate. There is a twisted, Morbid smile on his lips, giving the faint impression of the cat who swallowed the canary.

Maybe he isn't one of those things that go bump in the night, but he's certinally close.

Arcane Blood - July 2, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
For once, Lucifer actually looks similar to something that might go bump in the night. He looks... different. A lot different, in a bad and sort of frightening way, though most of that was Kaldun's fault.

He was going insane, and he knew it. There was no other explenation for what was happening to him, and it was mildly pitiful. It was almost funny if you thought about it, that Lucifer was once a (if only mildly) happy person with a (fairly) normal life.

And here he was in an alley in the dead of night, lurking behind a corner, watching with those glow-in-the-dark bright green eyes which had a disturbing but unmistakable fire to them. He was turning into Jehovah, the person he'd least wanted to turn out to be like. Be he was (if only because of Kaldun), and he felt the need to kill someone... to taste blood, like his vampiric friend Matthias did.

He was just watching, out looking for someone to... to kill?

The sane part of him tried to protest rather loudly at this, but it was ignored.

He was wearing black too. A black turtleneck paired with very loose black jeans that had an array of rips and holes in them. Skin showed underneath the holes, offering a view of gashes over top of purpling bruises. The gashes he'd done himself, finding it neccesary to carve deep into his flesh... he craved to hurt himself now, to see and feel blood trickling down his body.

His hair, grown out fairly long was cut jaggedly. A home cut, not doubt, and his long forelock covered his left eye. It was a mix of dark almost black brown, and lighter shades of brown blended with a nice tone of red. His hair was slightly damp from the drizzle, and who knows who long he's been out there, hunched over and crouched in that alley.

Some part of him still protested this, and cried out inside of him. All he wanted to do was go home... all Kaldun wanted to do was kill.

Thorn - July 2, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Jehovah continued to hum, walking the street in it's silence. Normally, he would have been the one stalking the other, though, never had Jehovah lowered himself to allyways and blood lust. This man killed for reasons, no matter how undeserving or twisted those reasons may be it was not just for blood.

As he moved closer to the ally's mouth he watched the shadow that most else wouldn't have caught laying across the path just to the side of where he would step. He'd noticed because he's on high-alert all the time, searching for anything that could hamper his night. And because he's got cop eyes and a cop suspicion. He stopped. Mugger? Surely not. Come on.

He just stood there, let his shadow touch the other shadow but did not step in front of the ally entrance. Never in a million years would he guess that around the corner was his own brother.

Arcane Blood - July 3, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
That was all he needed. That 'come on, just come a little bit closer' wishing was not going to do, because obviously his new victim wasn't going to continue on any further. So Kaldun made the first move, and slowly made his way to his feet, edging around the corner to find...

Jehovah?!

His lips curved up into a wicked smirk. Fire licked all around his body, setting a surreal glow to his body.

"Look who's out playing." The voice was different. It was cold and amused in a sarcastic way.

Thorn - July 3, 2005 12:09 AM (GMT)
Not particuarily Lucifer's voice. It was Lucifer's body, his voice but not his voice. And Jehovah knew immediatly to whom he was speaking. His smile curled to match the other's, though the shine in his eyes said he'd already had a taste tonight but seconds would not be turned down.

"How many guesses do I get?" It was the same, deep, rumbling, and only too calm voice he'd always had. That so-calm-it-might-drive-a-perfectly-sane-person-up-the-wall sort of voice. He didn't move still, his hand rested nowhere near the gun at the small of his back. He was completly comfortable in a situation as this one.

Arcane Blood - July 3, 2005 02:35 PM (GMT)
"Depends," he said quietly, though managed to bring his voice in sense of the tone a little higher. That German accent rang true as it always did, making his words something more of a hiss. "...on how many you want."

He began taking calculating steps and circling Jehovah, with much more grace than Lucifer's body could ever possess. Then he stopped and paused behind Jehovah, running a slender, firey fingertip down his back.

Thorn - July 3, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
He didn't turn with Kaldun, there was no sense in it. And when the finger ran down his back, he didn't stop Kaldun from doing so and finding the Glock 27 tucked into the small of his back in a holster that sat on the inside of his pants. He didn't plan to kill Lucifer so it did not matter if Kaldun found it. Especially since he suspected that if he shot Lucifer now, Kaldun would just leave the dead body. He didn't even so much as shiver at the finger down his back.

"I supose if I killed Luc, I wouldn't kill you huh?" He turned his head to the side to look at Kaldun over his shoulder. Maybe it was just in his head but to him, when Kaldun surfaced, Lucifer didn't even look exactly like Lucifer. "How does one go about killing something like you?" Really a rhetorical question.

Arcane Blood - July 3, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
"I don't know. Why not experiment?" He asked, seeming very nonchalant about the whole situation. If Luc got shot, it'd be Luc that be hurt and killed, not Kaldun. Kaldun could just leave this body for another one at any given time. There was really no way to get rid of him, which was a fairly sad thing. He wasn't about to tell Jehovah that, even though he probably suspected this.

Then that hand recoiled back, and something about Lucifer jst... changed. The look in his eyes was different.

Thorn - July 4, 2005 04:28 AM (GMT)
"Because," he replied, still ignoring the hand down his back. That hand could probably reach down his pants and Jehovah wouldn't flinch. Slap him, that might get a reaction. Actually, it probably would get a slap back. "I would be running the risk of your inhabbiting the next closest body. And personally, I'm not very fond of being inhabbited by an unruley...thang." He still wasn't sure what to call Kaldun. Then there was a shift, maybe the hand pulling back, maybe soemthing around the eyes.

"Luc?"

Arcane Blood - July 4, 2005 04:28 PM (GMT)
Lucifer staggered back. The flames died out, and his eyes stopped glowing. He looked frightened rather than intimidating, and you could tell it was no longer Kaldun speaking or in control. Lucifer struggled to regain his balance, but he eventually managed to anyway. He bit his lip and seemed shaky.

"S..sorry."

Thorn - July 4, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
Jehovah didn't hesitate to reach out and grab Lucifer's shoulder to steady him when he was certian he was not grabbing Kaldun. He'd seen the change, he knew his brother. Useing both hands, one on the shoulder, the other on Lucifer's opposite upper arm, he lowered his brother to the ground anginst the wall and squat down in front of him, sitting over top of Lucifer's lower legs.

He didn't try to touch him after he let go. "Don't be."

Arcane Blood - July 4, 2005 07:13 PM (GMT)
"I..." he looked up at Jehovah when he was placed on the ground. I what? I didn't mean for Kaldun to come out? I didn't mean to meet you here? What, Lucifer, what? You what?

"You should go."

Not I anything anymore, just you something. Lucifer never said what was on his mind... what he wanted to say.

Thorn - July 4, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
"I probably should but seeing that I put the kid in your apartment I think I'll take you home and get her when I'm there." That's right. He still calls her kid, at least he calls her 'her' rather then 'it' now. And yep, he'd broken into their appartment and left the baby, assuming they'd be home, and knowing that if they weren't she was safe there anyways.

He cocked his head to the side slightly. "How often is it coming out now?" Kaldun he means.

Arcane Blood - July 4, 2005 07:34 PM (GMT)
"You... what?" Of course he'd heard what Jehovah had said, but why leave the baby with Bomani and him? Kaldun was likely to kill it, or eat it even. Jehovah shouldn't have left her there... but then again, she wasn't safe with Jehovah either. Lucifer felt sorry for Jocelyn.

Lucifer didn't seem to want to discuss that topic.

"Whenever he can. Whever he feels like it."

Thorn - July 4, 2005 07:47 PM (GMT)
"I left her with you and yours," he repeated. He waved a hand, "don't worry, I'm sure your sand rat is home and will find her." He of course means Bomani. And actually Joycelyn was probably much safer with him then she had been with their father. Jehovah took care of her, even was gentle with her, even if he did leave her unattended every now and then. But at least he wasn't already slapping her for crying. "By the way, the brat called me mom yesterday." Her first word. Damn. And it was mom. Sucks for Jehovah.

"So...then why'd he just go away? How's he go away?"

Arcane Blood - July 6, 2005 07:40 PM (GMT)
He almost raised an eyebrow but decided against it and said nothing. He didn't defend Bomani because it was useless and Jehovah would be racist for the rest of forever. Instead he looked over, away from Jehovah and to the side. He could only offer a brief laugh, sad and empty as it was, at his next comment. Jehovah got called mom, the kid's first word. Lucifer was surprised it wasn't some sort of swear.

"That's... interesting. You haven't been breast feeding her, have you?"

He paused.

"Hell if I know. Why don't you ask him yourself."

Thorn - July 6, 2005 10:29 PM (GMT)
He frowned at his brother at the attempt to joke. It probably would have been funny if he weren't Jehovah. "No."

The frown disappeared as he sat over his brother and looked at him with the next answer to his question. He looked thoughtful for a moment. "Next time he comes out to play I might just do that." Hell, maybe Kaldun and Jehovah could go hunting togather. I'm almost certian that if Kaldun were in anyone elses body besides Lucifer's, they'd probably be quite a pair. In fact, Jehovah might even like him if he weren't in Lucifer.

Arcane Blood - July 6, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
Funny thing is, Lucifer wasn't even trying to make a joke. He was just moody, mopey, and sharp-tongued. He hadn't even meant to say that to Jehovah, and should've rather kept his mouth closed on that subject.

"Which I'm hoping isn't soon." Lucifer said quietly, glancing off into a different direction. "And look," he said with a sigh, closing his eyes, "I... really," hm, what to say... "I can watch Jocelyn if you want. You should go."

Why did he insist it so... firmly?

Thorn - July 7, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
"With that thing in you and I don't even know if your dessert rat is around to control it? No way. That'd be like feeding the kid to the wolves and I don't want that. Do you?"

Was that...fondness...in Jehovah's voice? Ok so a baby lives with you a month, you try not to grow fond of it.

"Why should I go?"

Arcane Blood - July 7, 2005 02:51 PM (GMT)
That'd be like feeding the kid to wolves. So why did he leave the baby there in the first place? Did that... make Lucifer angry? It did, but it didn't show. He said nothing. It confirmed his thoughts of himself... about being a terrible, vicious monster. No emotion showed on his pretty face.

Was he...angry that Jehovah had grown fond of the child? No, he couldn't be.. he had no part in this thing anyway. Why should it matter? Which brought him back to where he started, with that same depressing question. Why should it matter? Why should anything matter?

"Because." Now it was Lucifer's turn to bring up that carefully built barrier... to shield his thoughts and feelings from his voice. There was nothing left of it other than that low tenor tone and the German accent.

Why do you always need a reason, Jehovah? Why can't you just leave when I ask you to?

He paused again and shook his head. "I have no reason." Other than I want you to.

Thorn - July 8, 2005 01:56 AM (GMT)
Why did he leave the baby with a risk of being aro9und Kaldun? Because as racist as he was to Bomani's heritage, he'd watched their home long enough to know Bomani would keep the brat safe if Lucifer couldn't. He didn't know if Bomani himself would do that, but he knew that if Luc loved the kid, Bomani wouldn't let anything happen to it. So really, it's one of the safest places to be.

"Because doesn't cut it with me. It never has. You know that."

Besides, as strong as Jehovah is, he couldn't balance a limp dead body in one arm and carry a baby carrier in the other. It's impossible, and he needed a free hand incase he had need of drawing his gun.

Arcane Blood - July 8, 2005 05:13 PM (GMT)
"It doesn't. And I've always wondered why. Why you need a reason for everything, and why there is some form of reason behind everything that you do. It could drive even the insane insane, Jehovah." Because it's really doing a number on my head, too.

"Because is never good enough, but I can never find a reason that is good enough."

((Short, sorry.))

Thorn - July 9, 2005 01:34 AM (GMT)
A reason that is good enough? Jehovah says in the calm, unnerving voice that he has, "Maybe if you just gave even a reason once in a while I might be able to judge if it was good enough. 'Because' is not a reason."

((soooo short.))

Guest - July 11, 2005 06:28 PM (GMT)
"I already told you. I don't know. If I said it was because I wanted you to, would that be a reason?" He closed his eyes again but didn't want to open them up anymore.

"But... I don't know.. I don't.. I'm sorry." He didn't really want him to leave, but... he did?

Thorn - July 11, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
"It would be a good reason. Good enough to accept at any rate. But then you'd need to give me a reason why you wouldn't want me here."

So you give him a reason to go away. Now he wants a reason why he should? He let his hands rest on his brother's thighs, comfortably for him, possibly even for Lucifer.

Arcane Blood - July 15, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
"I thought you only needed one reason?" He inquired softly, taking in a deep yet shaky breath. Why shaky? Sometimes Lucifer just breathes irregularly.

He sighed. "Look, forget it. I've not got a reason for you to go away. And I don't want you to... not really." He shook his head. "I..." No, he couldn't bring himself to say it. He wouldn't...

Thorn - July 15, 2005 11:26 PM (GMT)
Jehovah watched his brother. "I did say I only wanted one reson for me to go away. But asking a reason to go away and the reason you want me to go away are two different topics really." He put a hand on his Brother's chest when his breath shook, to feel his chest while he breathed. Why was he breathing so shakily?

"You waht?" he inquired to Luc's unfinished sentance.

Arcane Blood - July 15, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
"Why do you always have to be right about everything?" He shook his head a little, the tiniest of motions. Then he smiled a very weak, very sad smile which sported no teeth.

"I.." he tried to think, but knew this would never come out the way he wanted it to. "I.. think I just.." he took another shaky breath, "No.. I know.. I just... need you to be around. I mean, I want you to.." He wasn't going to force anything on him, he simply just didn't want to leave things rocky like they were all the time. He wanted to be a real brother, not some fuck-job that crawled out of insane asylum.

"I..." Still can't say it.

Massacist - July 15, 2005 11:45 PM (GMT)
"Because I'm the older brother. And older siblings are always right. And the younger ones are always wrong." That's my logic and I'm sticking to it. And what was true was that no matter how many siblings Luc had, none of them were older then Jehovah. He'd been the bastard's first born. No changing that.

"If you want me around I'll stay around." But he'd only ever be that flexible for Lucifer or Joycelyn. "But if I come to your home, the dessert rat better not say anything about my being there."

Thorn - July 15, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
*stomps* that was me. Not Em

Arcane Blood - July 15, 2005 11:57 PM (GMT)
Lucifer resisted the urge to ask him why he thought that way. It wasn't always true that older siblings were always right. But he didn't question him, because Jehovah would come up with some smart-ass remark, and he'd be right again. So instead he just settled for a weak, "'kay."

"You mean Bomani? I... he... I'll deal with him."

"Thanks..."

Thorn - July 16, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
"Yes, that one."

Ah, Jehovah won't even give Bomani a name. How sad that the two people Lucifer seems to need most happen to hate eachother from a distance for a very long time. Jehovah moved his hands up Lucifer's thighs and torso until he had him under the arms and was standing, in turn, pulling Lucifer to his feet.

thanks.

"What are brother's for?" Well, they've argued, fusked, bickered, hated eachother, made up, hated eachother, and now this. Is it just Jehovah or is it a combonation of Jehovah and Lucifer?

Arcane Blood - July 16, 2005 01:53 PM (GMT)
It was too bad indeed, but that was just the story of Lucifer's life. Nobody was ever who he thought they were, and nothing was or turned out to be the way he wanted. The world really had something against Lucifer, and he couldn't even kill himself to try and end it. No matter what he did, it seemed like it didn't work. And he'd just have to deal with that for the rest of however long he lived.

Lucifer didn't weigh much. Something around ninety-something pounds, and therefore was easy to lift. Especially so for a person like Jehovah, who could most definitely lift much heavier things.

He swayed slightly on his feet, not quite getting the fact that he was standing quite yet.

"Do I have to answer that?" He asked sarcastically. They didn't act much like brothers, after all.

Thorn - July 16, 2005 03:32 PM (GMT)
"Sure if you want ot," he replied, noting Lucifer's sarcasim but throwing absolutly none back. He answered as though he were serious. Jehovah stood, holding Lucifer still and watching his skinny frame sway with green eyes. And after a moment, the killer shook his head.

"You aren't eating enough, stupid." He let go of Lucifer's arms to see him stand on his own. But he kept his hands near.

Arcane Blood - July 16, 2005 05:30 PM (GMT)
Sometimes it was just plain annoying how Jehovah could kill his sarcasm. Right now it wasn't, because even if he was a smart-ass, he didn't care to argue pointlessly right now. Or shoot sarcastic comments back and forth, because he knew he'd lose. Jehovah was definitely the wittier of the two when he wanted to be.

He swayed a little more, staggered, but didn't fall. People seemed to like to call him names. Bomani called him idiot, and now Jehovah called him stupid.

He looked up at his brother's taller figure and frowned.

"I can't." Not anymore.

Thorn - July 16, 2005 05:41 PM (GMT)
"Well your going to." He replied flatly. When he saw his brother could stand on his own, he took his far smaller arm in his own large hand and started to usher his brother away from the wall and down the side walk he'd been moving along. He needed to get out of the area before someone found the body and he needed to go back to Lucifer's place and see if the desert rat had found Joycelyn yet.

"Why can't you eat?" He asked finally, after a few minutes of dragging Lucifer along.

Arcane Blood - July 16, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
And there was no arguing about that. Once Jehovah said something, there was never arguing about it, because it would be pointless to. He'd do it anyway. This was for Lucifer's own good though, because he was so... unhealthy iy wasn't even funny.

He shrugged weakly, shook his head. "Hast Du eine Ahnung... Ich bin ganz herunter." He winced. What a slip on his English.

"Nn, no.. I don't know. It just... I'm exhuasted, and it hurts." Hurts to eat.

(Translation: You haven't the faintest idea. I'm all run-down.. (completely exhausted))

Thorn - July 16, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
He nodded. Jehovah understood enough of that to be able to nod and be correct in his responses. But while he could understand bit of his brother (and his father's) launguage, he couldn't speak it at all, despite his own percentage of german blood.

"Then you'll eat," he replied as they approached the tuck and he opened the passenger side door to help his brother into the truck. "And then you'll rest. I'll put a spell to help you," and maybe keep Kaldun at bay for a little while. It was very rare that Jehovah actually used any of his magic or cast any form of spells.

Arcane Blood - July 16, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
"Nn..." He contemplated this. Did he really want to be put under a spell? No..., but otherwise he'd never get to sleep, and it could possibly keep Kaldun out of the way, if only for a little while.

"...okay," he replied heistantly, looking up at the truck door as it was opened for him.

"Jeh...ovah?" He asked, quietly. "...Ich liebe dich.."

(Trans: I love you.)

Thorn - July 16, 2005 07:07 PM (GMT)
He stood for a few moments, then practically lifted Lucifer's thin, frail body into the truck and put his hand on the door and the side of the truck.

"I know," he replied finally, then tugged on the seat belt to indicat he needs to actually buckle up this time, and closed the door.

When Jehovah got in behinde the wheel, he closed the door, pulled on the seat belt and started the engine. Then, after a moment, he looked at his little brother. "I love you too." He pulled away from the curb.
