Title: Wolf Country

Paris - November 29, 2003 02:05 PM (GMT)
The savage beast geared itself, hunched down, ready to pounce. She spotted her prey, it's movements were slow and it moved with no certain direction, confused maybe? Paris watched it for a moment, waiting for the right opertunity but not wanting her prey to get away. She croutched low and then pounced towards the unsuspecting butterfly. The butterfly was too quick and the chase was on.

Paris bounded and jump through the forest, in her werewolf from. She loved chasing butterflies, they're always a challenge. As she springed she let out a bark or two just to show the butterfly who was boss. The butterfly seemed to ignor the noises Paris and fluttered along happily.

The trees were close together and the sun was hidden behind them. It was noticably darker then in a clearing but exceedingly so. Ferns and small bushes filled in the spots around the trunks of the trees. There were no paths except for the ones made by the bears, which were not to be trend upon lightly. Paris dodged each bush and had to maneuver around the occasional tree that got in her way.

If anyone was to look at her they would see a big wolf, with a braided ponytail, in a trenchcoat. She made one last pounce and caught her pray, another victory for Paris she ate the butterfly with glee. Eating her prey, no matter what it is, is always the highlight of the chase. She leaned against a close tree and sighed, she would have been wagging her tail if she wasn't sitting on it. She closed her eyes and enjoyed the songs of birds that were, unfortunately, out of her reach.

The way Eddy was strutting through the woods, anyone would think he was on the catwalk and being admired by a large audience, 'catwalk' being an ironic term since the Thought Demon did look remarkably like a cat. But no, he was entirely on his own, or so he thought.
Despite what a nice day it was, Eddy cared little for nature. He was only cutting through the woods to get to his favourite environment; the city. He had been walking for a while but now he had stopped, his pointed ears twitching. The demon then blinked his one good eye in surprise as he saw a large hulking figure leap past a bush and dart off out of sight, appearing to be in pursuit of a butterfly.
"Hmmm..." Eddy wandered off after the creature, merely curious. To him, what he had just seen looked alot like a werewolf, but then you could never be sure of anything these days.
It wasn't long before Eddy found himself in a much more dense part of the woods, where the sunlight barely penatrated the canopy of leaves overhead. The demon fought his way past a particularly clingly shrub, and stepped out into a small clearing, where he beheld the werewolf.
"Ah, there you are..." he said with a grin.

Paris - November 29, 2003 06:00 PM (GMT)
Paris' ears pecked up, she had smelt a cat. A rather stereotypical thought came to her head but she dismissed it, she aready had a good chase today.

She was surprised to find that the cat was not a little taby or a puma but a humanlike creature. Was this cat a lycanthrope like herself? She became curious but being too lazy to turn back into her human form she decided to bark at it instead.

It was on short bark followed by a simple excited whine as she brought herself up to two legs. She move closer to the cat, sniffing and giving it an questioning look.

DarkLight - November 29, 2003 07:20 PM (GMT)
As Paris stood up, Eddy's dimly glowing yellow eyes moved over the werewolf's figure, and he quickly identified it as being a female.
As Paris stepped towards him, the demon in turn took a step towards her, fearless as usual. He observed her for a moment longer before asking quite calmly,
"Sooo...are you a werewolf, then? Can you talk?"

Paris - November 29, 2003 07:24 PM (GMT)
Paris changed into her human form, and grinned. "Some people say I talk too much, but I can't in that form. There's a lack of functionable vocal chords, unless you count howling as speaking?"

She considered the cat in front of her. "Do you change forms?"

DarkLight - November 29, 2003 09:30 PM (GMT)
Eddy eyed Paris' human form with a sly smile before replying,
"Only once a lifetime." He grinned mysteriously and ran a long claw down his bare chest. "What you see before you is the image given to me by the human who Thought me into this world. I quite like it, don't you?"

Paris - November 29, 2003 09:45 PM (GMT)
"Somebody 'Thought' you?!" Paris said not truely understanding. "That's strange... how does somebody think somebody else into existance?" She turned her head into a inquisitive look, she had a puzzled look on her face.

DarkLight - November 29, 2003 10:02 PM (GMT)
Eddy lent against a tree and folded his arms. "Well, I'm a Thought Demon. I existed in some form in another dimention before I came here, but I can't really remember much about it. Anyway, the only ticket to freedom for me was to get in contact with a mortal mind. Kids are always the best, they're more impressionable. I placed myself into the mind of a young girl in a way that she would merely believe that I was an imaginary friend of sort. She gradually fashioned my appearance with her imagination, and the more she thought about me, the stronger I became. And when it got to the point where she actually started to believe that I was real, I did become real, and here I am. Clever eh?"

Paris - December 3, 2003 01:10 AM (GMT)
Paris noticed that there was no strike while she was dazed. Aw, great, now he's toying with me, she thought. She broke the circle by following his gaze and moving when he moved. She growled as she pounced again, this time she was aiming for his stomach with her claws.

Paris - November 30, 2003 12:35 AM (GMT)
Paris was inclined to believe him, she was a ture space cadet. She believed in Aliens, so why not believe in other dimensions. Of course she was curious as to how the thought process worked. Curiousity killed the cat only because it was the dog who wondered what the cat tasted like (or so Paris' father told her) "Clever? You know you could've ended up looking like a living 'My Little Pony'... Why was freedom a priority? Was your other dimension a cage of sorts? Did you have a name before you came to this world or did the thinker give you one?"

DarkLight - November 30, 2003 01:09 AM (GMT)
Eddy stared at Paris, a little bemused, trying to take in all her questions at once. He had not been expecting such an interogation.
"'My Little Pony'?" the demon sniggered. "Now there's a thought. No, I didn't have a form, a name, nothing. But I had my own personality, which is why I couldn't have ended up like a pony, because the thinker fashions the image around how I talk and act. As for where I came from... I remember that it wasn't very nice. It was boring, an endless limbo. Oh yeah, freedom was a priority all right..."

Paris - November 30, 2003 01:15 AM (GMT)
Always the scientist, Paris was happy at the answers she was given and readily store then for later use. "I'm Paris. What's your name?" She stepped closer to see if there was a special scent to the demon or maybe a mark. The cat-like appearance was certainly strange. A form created directly from thought, conveniant to say the least.

DarkLight - November 30, 2003 11:11 AM (GMT)
"I'm Eddy." the demon replied with a grin. "Very pleased to meet you, Paris. So, what are you up to today, then? Chasing butterflies, hm?" Eddy raised a questioning eyebrow at her.

Paris - November 30, 2003 02:11 PM (GMT)
She gave him a big wolfish grin. "Yup, gotta keep them instincts in shape. Plus it's a lot of fun, and butterflies are pretty tasty. Don't tell me you've never chased butterflies before. As a little girl's invisible friend I would think that you would have at least tried it once."

DarkLight - November 30, 2003 09:22 PM (GMT)
"Butterflies aren't very substantial, though. They don't have enough blood in them."
Eddy tapped his chin thoughtfully with a claw. "Do butterflies even have blood?"

Paris - December 1, 2003 12:13 AM (GMT)
"In a sense, yes. Same function as animals but different colour and system... So I take it you're a predator. Do you hunt around this woods?" Paris gave Eddy a stern look. She didn't really want to start marking her territory, but if their other predators around , she didn't want to lose her claim.

DarkLight - December 1, 2003 04:13 PM (GMT)
Eddy shrugged his shoulders casually. "Oh, 'hunt' is such a crude word. But I stalk my prey wherever opportunity arises." He noticed Paris' stern look and smiled in an amused way. "But I prefer to spend my time in the city, so you needn't worry about me invading anything."

Paris - December 1, 2003 04:21 PM (GMT)
Paris had a growing suspicion, it was almost painful to ask the question. "What is it that you 'stalk'? What is your prey?" She couldn't hide all the anxiety in her voice, although she tried. Her body tensed a slight bit.

DarkLight - December 1, 2003 07:10 PM (GMT)
"Oh, well let me see..." The demon absent-mindedly tapped a claw against the silver mask that covered a quarter of his face.
"Anything I feel like. Anything that looks tasty. Humans, mostly. Why do you ask?"

Paris - December 1, 2003 08:13 PM (GMT)
Paris quickly stepped back a few paces, and growled. "Humans... You murder people for food?! You're a monster!" She bared her teeth, and bent her knees ready to pounce or to run. "Why? When there are so many other things you can hunt?" She motioned to the forest.

DarkLight - December 1, 2003 08:23 PM (GMT)
Eddy eyed Paris coolly. "Hey, you know the term 'monster' hurts my feelings." he purred, although the smile on his face suggested that he was being sarcastic.
"Oh come on, it's not so bad. Humans aren't much better than any other species. They just make so much more of a fuss about being killed, and that's what makes it fun..."

Paris - December 1, 2003 08:52 PM (GMT)
"Then why don't you attack me? Or do you prefer to play with your food?" She prepared herself for an answer, still tense. She had a sudden vision of a documentary she saw, where two killer whales threw around a living seal for a few minutes before they ate it...

DarkLight - December 1, 2003 09:37 PM (GMT)
Eddy glanced at Paris in a disapproving manner.
"Please. You think I'm some mindless thug who'd just attack anyone he sees? I'm having an intresting conversation with you. Why would I want to attack you?" He grinned. "But yes, I do so love to play with my food. Don't you? You were playing with that butterfly earlier, weren't you? And then you ate it, did you not?" The demon smiled slyly at her before looking down to admire his claws.

Paris - December 1, 2003 09:55 PM (GMT)
"Butterflies are different then people." Paris scuffed and crossed her arms. "First of all they don't think, they don't have very many nerves and they only live for two days. And why the hell do I have to explain it to you? I'm nothing more then another meal ticket!"

DarkLight - December 1, 2003 10:33 PM (GMT)
The demon scoffed. "Well by the sound of things, you bring it on yourself, luv. That's all I can say." He pushed himself away from the tree and brushed some moss from his arm.
"And I'm pretty sure butterflies do think. They're aware of their surroundings, and they certainly know when a big lumbering wolf is chasing them." He paused, before shaking his head and turning away. "Why am I even having this conversation with you?? I could've been at the city by now, instead of standing here chatting with a pathetic excuse for a werewolf..."

Paris - December 1, 2003 10:39 PM (GMT)
The conversation was slowly becoming a snarling match, Paris didn't want to be outdone. Paris just let the rage do the talking for her. "You're nothing more then a frighten child's manifestation. You probably took her life too! Didn't you?"

DarkLight - December 2, 2003 07:10 PM (GMT)
Eddy looked back over his shoulder at Paris, grinned, and nodded.
"I did indeed, yes." He shrugged. "It was a long journey from my dimension to this one. I was hungry."

Paris - December 2, 2003 07:28 PM (GMT)
Finally the anger took over Paris' better judgement and she changed into the werewolf, crouched low and snarling fiercely. She was plainly ready for a fight. The one thing that was holding her was the probablity that the creature was much stronger than she was. She was also prepare to make a quick getaway if he was.

The one rule she usually stands by is not to be the first person to strike, which leads the point she usually makes of growling at the subject until it starts attacking her. It's not the best way to go about it if you are the starter of the fight, but Paris tries anyway.

DarkLight - December 2, 2003 08:28 PM (GMT)
Eddy had fully turned round to face Paris now, looking both surprised and amused.
"Oh, you want to fight me now? Hmm..." Eddy eyed the crouching werewolf thoughtfully for a few moments, before breaking into a wide smile. "Oh, go on then. I haven't had a good fight in a while..." He spread his long claws and grinned dangerously, his eyes suddenly ablaze with bloodlust. "Let's see what you've got..."

Paris - December 2, 2003 08:37 PM (GMT)
Paris knew an open invitation when she heard one, she waited a second before springing directly for Eddy's throat. With no thought at all and on total animal instinct, it was almost obvious that it would be where she would strike first. She fully intented to rip the demons throat out with her teeth.

DarkLight - December 2, 2003 09:05 PM (GMT)
The demon blinked but acted quickly. As Paris launched her self at him, Eddy flung his arms out to wrap his clawed hands round Paris' neck to try and stop her jaws before they reached his throat. The force of the impact knocked the demon onto his back, but he instantly and violently kicked up at the werewolf's stomach with both feet...

Paris - December 2, 2003 09:15 PM (GMT)
The force of the kick knocked Paris back a few paces. Her lungs refused to take in air, she gasped a couple of times in a panic, Paris was dazed. Her arms went to her stomach in shock as she tried to regain her concentration...

DarkLight - December 2, 2003 10:09 PM (GMT)
Eddy quickly jumped to his feet, never letting his softly glowing eyes wonder from Paris' form. Usually he would have already struck her again while she was trying to recover, but he seemed willing to let this be a fair fight. So instead he circled the werewolf warily, though grinning sadistically...

DarkLight - December 3, 2003 02:24 PM (GMT)
Eddy growled fiercely and flung up his own claws to meet Paris's, trying to curl his fingers round her paws enough for him to be able to sink his claws into her wrists...

Paris - December 3, 2003 03:00 PM (GMT)
Paris' paws were blocked and Eddy's claws dug into her wrists. She yelped with the pain as blood poured out of the wound. She snarled and flung out her legs aiming for Eddy's stomach...

DarkLight - December 3, 2003 04:26 PM (GMT)
Eddy recieved the full force of the kick and was forced to release his hold from the werewolf's paws as he jumped back, gasping for breath. With an angry snarl he lept forward, the small bat-like wings on his back helping him to gain a good height in the air as he viciously lashed out at Paris' face with his gleaming claws...

Paris - December 3, 2003 04:39 PM (GMT)
Paris saw him coming and had only enough time to block the blow with her arms. Eddy's claws cut deep, scraping against Paris' bones. Her arms were completely useless, pain shot up them in pulses as the blood drained from major arteries in her wrists. She couldn't fight, it was a losing battle, so she ran...

DarkLight - December 3, 2003 04:52 PM (GMT)
Eddy landed on his feet and watched with some surprise as Paris suddenly took off. He casually licked the werewolf's blood from his claws as he contemplated on what he should do. He was well aware of how heavily Paris was bleeding, and so came to the conclusion that he shouldn't let perfectly good flesh and blood go to waste if Paris was on her last legs anyway...
And so the demon took off after her at a lazy jogging pace, half because he was in no hurry since he could smell Paris' blood from a mile off, and half because he still had a stitch in his side from the werewolf's kick...

Paris - December 3, 2003 05:06 PM (GMT)
The blood loss from her wounds were making her dizzy, but the experience she had in hunting told her that the fight may not be over. There was nothing stopping the demon for following her without any problems. She needed something to cover her tracks and the only thing she could think of was the river. She stopped for a second to get her barings before dashing off towards another direction, towards the river...

DarkLight - December 3, 2003 05:14 PM (GMT)
Eddy continued to trot through the woods at his own pace. He could not yet see Paris, but he could practically taste the rich warm blood that tainted the air and lay in small puddles on the ground...
