Title: Just browsing.

Arcane Blood - May 11, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
Flip, flip, flip.

There's that somewhat distinct sound of someone pushing through the racks of clothes, checking each shirt briefly, then quickly pushing it aside toglance at the next one. And repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Until there are no more clothes to look through on that rack, and then the steps are repeated on the next rack.

And the next rack. And so on.

This, my friends, is the act of browsing.

Alec was browsing, happily, and perhaps a little boredly, through clothes that he could potentially wear. Not that he'd buy them now, though. That'd defeat the purpose of browsing, really.

The blond-haired man had a cigarette propped on his ear like one would expect a pencil to be, and his too-long hair ws slightly mussed. He never bothered to comb it, generally, except for special occasions. Not that it looked bad... it actually quite fitted him, without being too tangled.

He had on a sleeveless red shirt, and a pair of too baggy jeans. He also had two earrings in his ear, which were both hoops, and silver. His hazel eyes weren't hidden behind sunglasses today, but instead, they were perched atop his head.

Yawn. Flip, flip, flip.

Flip, flip, flip.

Push aside a shirt, look up at the man, and repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Until he moves to the next rack to look through it, and then the steps are repeated on the next rack.

This my friend, is called stalking.

Litt was not browsing boredly, if she were bored, she wouldn't be here, she'd find someone else to follow. As it were, she was following him. Without her wings, she looked very much the modern teen human. Her hair was cut boy-short on the sides and back but longer on the top and dyed a color that looked like pink and purple had mated on her head. Her eyes were narrow, vibrant blue, almost electric. She was short, very short, four feet eleven inches, thin. She wore a pair of low ride leather bell bottoms with a pink belt, a pink top that showed a pale, almost chalky belly, black sneakers with pink laces.

On top of her head was a pair of pink, square sunglasses that no one could make look good unless their hair was pink. They still didn't look great, decent maybe.

The moved on to the next rack, flipping through the clothes directly across from him. Hardly glancing at the clothes.

Yaaaawn. Flip, flip, flip, flip, fli-- what? He'd apparently run out of clothes, and ran into... a girl? Yes, it was a girl. No guy would wear that much pink, or at least no guy that Alec knew. It was like a bad fashion statement, hurting his eyes and staring him right in the face. Well, not directly staring, but... well, she was flashy.

"Oh, 'scuse me... I didn't see you there."

Alec tried not to stare at her, and turned to another rack, noticably flipping through clothes slower. Now he had his back turned to her.

She smiled at him, shook her head.

"It's alright." Her voice wasn't...normal? It was the accent. She had a soft, raspy voice that you might place in as an alto but that couldn't explain it. Her accent made the words sound like ets allret. It wasn't meant for english, but it was hard to place it with any other accent in this world.

He moved on, she flipped through two more shirts, then slowed down, stared at his back. Next rack, flip flip flip. Again she was across from him, watching him probably more then looking at the clothes.

Her accent made him wonder where she was from, or if she was just twisting her voice in an odd way just to sound as odd as she looked. He shrugged, mentally, and flipped through some more clothes... until there were no more to look at.

Looking over his shoulder once, then turning the way of the entrance, he walked out.

She followed. Though, unlike with the clothing, she followed but didn't watch him. She just followed, like a looming shadow. A very short, attractive but bright looming shadow. She walked around him and ended up in front of him and turned.

"You dropped this."

Nope, not twisting the words, the accent was still there. She managed to look charming, aristocratic, standing there like that, holding the cigarette that had been behind his ear. He hadn't dropped it, she'd taken it, when he bumped into her in the store.

He raised an eyebrow, but then grinned a little. So, she had good reason for following him.

"Oh, thanks. Must've come loose or something.." He shrugged, taking the cigarette from the pink lady. (Yes, Alec lables people because he has a hard time remembering names, anyway.)

She rocked on her heals, to her toes, then back to her heals again. She held the end of the cigarette longer then she had too. Finally she let go of the cigarette to allow him to take it. She smiled.

Was she, of the pink hair, flirting with him?

"No problem."

Arcane Blood - June 16, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
Alec tucked the cigarette back behind his ear once she allowed him to take it, and it disappeared back under his messy strawberry-blond hair. "Uh, thanks 'gain, 'n all." Perhaps she was, but Alec had a grilfriend. Or so he'd like to think.

So with a tiny little wave of his fingers, he turned to walk on again.
