Title: Sulking.
Description: What the hell is this earth for? -Anyone

Arcane Blood - May 10, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
Dark. Too dark. The full moon was out, shining brightly on the water. A figure, clad in black, sat at the waters edge, staring as far out as he could stare.

That is, to pile on the cliches.

The figure, clad in black, that looked like another simple, meaningless shadow, was Lucifer. And as usual, he was moping. About what? Who knows, but he was a rather irritating person to be around as of late.

His clothes were wet. He'd been standing in the water as the waves crashed upon his sore, useless body. He felt useless. He was, practically, useless. But it wasn't always like that.

No... it hadn't. He sat, wet arms curled around equally wet knees, and stared, morosely, out at the water.

His brown hair looked black. It was soaked with salty water. It fell into his eyes, and water trickled downward on his cheeks.

His black sweatshirt was wet, and with the breeze, it made him feel very, very cold. It felt like ice was clinging to his skin... and he just wanted to drown.

"I hate this fucking country," Lucifer murmured, burying his head into his knees. "I fucking hate myself. Everything is so fucking stupid." He could barely keep himself from crying... but it wasn't out of pity for himself. He regretted coming out here, because of what he though he might do. He had planned to drown, but couldn't bring himself to do it.

Regret. He didn't want to leave Bomani and Ilea. He still had to deal with Jehovah.

He was alone, so he shivered, burying his booted feet into the sand, so it stuck to them, as it already stuck to his wett bottom.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 02:57 PM (GMT)
"Can I join you?"

No, suprisingly, Jehovah hadn't followed Lucifer out here. It is strange that they should meet here. Actually, he'd been doing some...er...business. *cough-hiding a body-cough*

He was wearing black jeans, minus the trinkets of siler zippers and buckles that usually adorned them, and a black sweatshirt he'd bought for ten bucks at a discount store. After all, it's hard to get blood out of clothing so why not buy some clothing you didn't care if it got bloody? And black nikes on his feet with blue swooshes. His hair had been tied into a ponytail, drawn away from his face and takeing five years off his age, making him a teenagers again. A very strong, muscular, serious teenager with a gun and a police license.

He was standing back away from Lucifer, knowing the limit that makes people feel comfortable and that they can trust you. Usually, people he does this with end up dead. Lucifer wouldn't.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 03:24 PM (GMT)
Lucifer's head was still buried in his jeans. He hadn't dared to look up. He already knew well enough by now that that particular voice belonged to Jehovah. And it took him a moment or two to find the words to say.

He would've rathered Jehovah stay away from him, anyway. Not just because he was scared, but... well, because he was scared, but in another way. He could just right out attack Jehovah without meaning to. He was possessed. He'd almost killed Bomani, and now he was consumed with guilt and regret.

"Depends," Lucifer answered weakly. "You can, if you wanted. You always have been able to. The question is of may you, which I'm not even sure of myself." In other words, Jehovah could, but if he wanted Lucifer's permission, Lucifer didn't know.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 03:32 PM (GMT)
He stuffed his hands into his pockets and frowned. Usualy, Jehovah wouldn't put his hands in his pockets, but now, it seemed the less threatening guesture he could come up with. Remember, he's not well practiced in the art of looking innocent. And it's hard to make someone like him appear innocent, even with the practice. Instead, he settled for protective. It's not normal for him eaither but it's easier.

"Don't be a wise ass."

He walked forward, stopping five feet away, another step brought his closer to three feet and he turned to look out at the water.

"What you doing out here?"

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 03:52 PM (GMT)
Normally, Lucifer would've replied something like 'but that's my job', but this was anything but normal for him. He was acting so strangely... so consumed by his depressing behavior. Instead of making a sarcastic remark, though, Lucifer said nothing and simply shook his head lightly.

"Trying to drown." His tone, deadpan as it was, assumed 'what else?' be tacked on to the end of the sentence. Lucifer said this as if it were completely normal for him to do.

"You?" Don't you just hate him? He just said he was trying to drown himself, and he was still acting casual, carrying on a competely normal conversation. Small talk. Something Lucifer wasn't good at.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 06:08 PM (GMT)
Jehovah didn't seem suprised. Instead, he walked closer and dropped down into the sand beside Lucifer on his knees, his hands coming out of his pocket but dutifully remaining away from the gun at his hip. Standard police issued weapon. He's smart enough not to kill someone without carrying the gun (just in case) but he's smarter not to use it to do the kill.

He put his hands on either side of him in the sand.

"It wouldn't really matter to you If I told you you're being stupid would it." It wasn't a question.

And he didn't answer what he was doing out here. Better to be assumed. Luc would know tomorrow morning, if he watched the news.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
Lucifer knew it wasn't a question, so he simply continued to stay in silence for a rather long moment. He closed his eyes, and if Jehovah happened to notice, he scooted away a little. He was afraid to touch anyone, or even get close to them anymore, what with this damn spirit possessing him still. Last time, he hardly remembered what happened, but he knew he left Bomani almost dead, because they both ended up in the hospital. Lucifer, just because he was unconscious.

"I don't know what to do anymore." That's why he did the things he did. Because he didn't know they were wrong. He didn't know about anything anymore. He didn't know how to feel, or how to cope.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 06:26 PM (GMT)
Jehovah watched his brother scoot away from him but remained where he was. A few months ago, he would have pressed himself to Lucifer, both to spite him and please himself. Now he grabbed a fist full of sand and gripped, pressing indents of the particles into his hands to keep himself from doing what was only natural to him.

"About what?"

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 06:34 PM (GMT)
Lucifer was glad that Jehovah didn't press himself up against him. He normally would've snarled and moved, but now... he would get scared and shy away, and wouldn't know what to do.

"About anything. Anything at all." He shook his head again, and drew his knees further against his chest.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 06:43 PM (GMT)
Jehovah let the sand slide through his fingers and then dug deeper into the smooth surface, grabbing another fist ful in each hand. He wasn't looking at lucifer. His eyes were on the moon.

"Well..." That's right, playing consulting and comforting brother was both hard and new to him. "About what right now? What do you mean you don't know what to do?"

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 06:48 PM (GMT)
"I...I.." he was finding this hard to say, so he shifted his feet around in the sand, trying to distract himself from his thoughts. He finally looked up, and looked out at the water again.

"I... almost.." he looked down at the sand again, andswallowed. "killed... someone. And...I don't...can't.."He couldn't finish the sentence, so just let it hang in the air, unfinished.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 06:53 PM (GMT)
Oh good. Now we're in Jehovah's field of experties. He's more comfortable on the topic then with nearly anything else but...well, you can't really go around talking about killing people with just anyone.

He watched Lucifer's face and knew Luc hadn't meant to kill anyone and hadn't enjoyed it. But that wasn't the point. The point was that he could handle this conversation now. His voice became more relaxed, cassual almost.

"Who'd you almost..." he was going to say who'd you almost off. But changed his mind. "Who almost died." There. That's less accusitory.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 07:00 PM (GMT)
"Bo." He said that with a lot of guilt and hurt in his voice, and then closed his eyes."And... he said.. he said to stop.." Lucifer shook his head, trying to rid himself of the memory. But it'd always be there to haunt him. A scar left on the inside. He had almost killed a man, and he'd never forget.

"But I couldn't..."

Thorn - May 21, 2005 07:09 PM (GMT)
Bo. "The desert rat?" So he's a little predjiduce. Shot him.

He shook his head.

"I thought you liked him? What'd he do to make you made?"

See. It just goes to show that to Jehovah, Murder is Murder. It's all the same. And since it takes someone making him angry to get him to actually kill that person, Luc must have been angry to have tried to kill someone.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
"Yes." Yes, the desert rat. Lucifer didn't try to defend Egyptians. What was the point of arguing with Jehovah, anyway?

"I did. I do. I didn't do it on.. purpose. I wasn't angry." Hewas fighting off tears. Jehovah actually thought that he did it on purpose? That he was angry? He glared down at his left hand, which was still twitching. He hadn't been able to control it. It was the thing that almost killed Bomani, when he was possessed. He tore at his stitches from when he was shot, and broke glass over him... It kept comng back to him... that image.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 07:24 PM (GMT)
Jehovah frowned. If he wasn't angry then the kill, or excuse me, attempted kill didn't make sense to him. But they were still on a comfortable and firmiluar topic.

"Then why'd you..."

Frown. Scowl. This wasn't making much sense. Lucifer was on the verge of tears and here he was questioning him like he was under interigation.

"Tell me what happened?" He had to force the pitch of his voice to rise on the last word to make it a question instead of deman.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
"I..." he breathed, looking down at his hand, now. It had a third degree burn on it, from when Bomani had tried to exorcise the spirit.

"Kaldun... he... a spirit." Poor Jehovah. This was probably making no sense to him at all. "Possessed." He finally managed to come up with a one word explanation that summed up the whole reason behind it.

"I... didn't want... to. I'm a... monster."

Thorn - May 21, 2005 07:36 PM (GMT)
Jehovah frowned, becoming first confused and then frustrated with Lucifer's stuttering and stammering. He gripped a fistful of sand tightly in anger. Then...posessed

What?!?

He looked at Lucifer and said so out loud.

"What are you talking about. You were perectly normal last week."

Or as normal as Lucifer can get.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 07:45 PM (GMT)
Lucifer slunk back into his pitiful barrier of insignifigance and hurt inside himself, and nodded very weakly.

"I..." he bit his lip, just so it bled, and closed his eyes again. Jehovah was angry...

"I.. I... it wanted.. it followed... him home. And I.." feel so very, very alone.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
Jehovah's frown deepened. He reached out slowly with sandy hands and placed his fingers on either side of his brother's thin face. He pulled him towards him and licked away the blood off of Lucifer's lip. Then looked at him and let his hands drop away, back into the sand.

"So...this thing...followed the Desert Rat home and it got you?"

His tone clearly said he'd like to kill Bo for jepordizing Luc. As if it was even Bomani's fault. But that's beyond Jehovah.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 07:59 PM (GMT)
He let his eyes open, and looked Jehovah in the eyes. He let him touch him.. for now. He just didn't want to hurt him... and he didn't want to be hurt. He didn't want him to be angry. His eyes were fearful, and hurt.

"...yeah," he said, weakly as he'd nodded before.

Thorn - May 21, 2005 08:06 PM (GMT)
Now we arn't in Jehovah's league. Murder is one thing. Posession is another.

"So...can't you just cast it out?"

Obviously he knows nothing of this topic. He watched Lucifer, looking into his eyes, looking carefully for anything different. Any sign of what was inside him.

Arcane Blood - May 21, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
"Nein.." Jehovah was smart enough to figure out that this meant no, right? Because Lucifer didn't feel like admitting it in English. He shook hs head, looking sadly down at the sand again. Then to his ugly, burned hand. He still didn't have bandages on that thing.

He looked, ashamed, almost, and began absently chewing on his lip.
