Title: Skipping.
Description: -for Danie-

You know, there isn't much that can ruin this day. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, there's a nice smell to the air because there was a short rainshower last night, the children are playing... The blue haired girls are skipping...

Yes. The blue haired girls--well, all right, it's singular--the blue haired girl is skipping and waving and smiling at everyone who happens to pass by and give her a strange look. This despite her encounter with a rather sadistic young man a while ago; it's either slipped her mind--quite likely--or she's decided that he's the only one in the whole wide world who would do something like that--even more likely.

No longer forced to wear lots of clothes to appear normal, she is enjoying herself and wearing a low cut, high rising halter top with very little in the way of a back and a pair of tiny, tight shorts that probably rightly belong to a boycut two piece swimsuit.

Cassie loves warm(er) weather...

Douglas would not be caught dead skipping. It was doubtful he had engaged in this activity even once in his lifetime. If he had, he certainly would never admit to it. Walking was just fine for him, thank you very much.

He was getting out of the house for some exercise, in the brief twenty-minute break he was allowing himself, so that he wouldn't wither away into a feeble old skeleton. He was in no danger of that, but it never paid to take chances. A good, brisk walk, that was what he needed to get his blood flowing.

Douglas looked like a man on the way to an important meeting, and not someone out for a walk. He was walking much too fast, like there was somewhere he needed to be. He even dressed like some kind of businessman - or at least the underling of a businessman. Every few moments, without slowing his pace, he would check his watch. He still had several minutes to go before he had to be back home.
He might as well enjoy it.

He didn't look very happy.

Cassie thinks that everyone should be happy.

This is why she seized his arms and tried to make him spin around in circles with her.

"Smile!"

Cassie really didn't learn her lesson from the encounter with Logan.

"What the-"

His cold, steely eyes widened in surprise. Before he even completed a half-turn, he yanked himself away from her, and managed to give her a cold glare. Absurd blue-haired girl - had she escaped from a mental institution? Or perhaps she was taking hallucinogenic drugs that made her blind to potentially threatening people?

Seeing as they were in public, though, he didn't violently force her to leave the area. He did give a faint scowl, and said tonelessly, "You ought to watch where you're going. You are acting like an imbecile. Are you aware of this?"

SammieK - April 26, 2005 12:50 AM (GMT)
"I am watching where I'm going," she argued cheerfully, giving her best attempt at a glare. She wasn't very good at it, I'm afraid. Her eyes sparkled too much with mirth. "You're acting like a grumpy old man. Are you aware of this?"

No, she isn't deliberately mocking him. She simply feels like imitating his tone and posture.

This is all a game, to her. Everything is a game.

"I have no time to waste on silliness," he informed her coolly, unimpressed by her juvenile reaction. "You oughtn't attack total strangers like that. It could be very bad for your health, if you bother the wrong person. I suggest you don't do it again."

Which was Douglas-speak for, "Don't push me."

"...Good day," he said sharply, turning and resuming his brisk stroll, in the direction opposite to that in which he'd been going before he encountered Cassie.

SammieK - April 26, 2005 05:23 AM (GMT)
He should have just told her to 'fuck off.' Cassie understands that.

She's going to tag along.

"What's your name?" If he were a little younger, she might add 'How old are you?' to that question, but she deems that impolite. Funny how she doesn't think anything of following a completely random stranger and asking him personal questions, though.

Danie - April 26, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
"My name is Douglas Kael," he said, striding along even faster than usual in an attempt to lose her. He hoped to at least give her the impression that he wanted to be left alone,... though why that would work, he didn't know. She seemed to be oblivious to those kind of cues.

"Now go about your business - if you are not aware of it, I am preoccupied and haven't the time to waste on you."

SammieK - April 26, 2005 10:43 PM (GMT)
"Why not?"

Persistant, isn't she.

((Ph34r the shortness!))

Danie - April 26, 2005 10:48 PM (GMT)
He stopped. "Because I am a busy man and the last thing I need is a distraction. You are a distraction. Now please go away before I resort to,... more unpleasant methods of ridding myself of you," Douglas frowned (well, it was a twitch of the eyebrows, but it counted for a frown).

"Now, why don't you go away and play dolls. Or something. Just get out of my sight."

SammieK - April 26, 2005 11:22 PM (GMT)
"Busy with what?"

She's so asking for him to hit her, or something even more unpleasant, isn't she?

But hey, she's a sweetheart, she doesn't think that anybody should be too busy to enjoy themselves.

Probably she would run away if she knew about Douglas's means of enjoying himself, though.

Danie - April 26, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
Douglas knows better than to just go crazy and hit people, whether in public or not.

"Last warning," he said, ignoring her question. He's given her more than enough chances already. One was too many. He was going to see if actual outright threats would make a difference. He was feeling like he'd rather not waste his energy on her. This would include cleaning up any mess that she might end up as.

"Last warning," he repeated, "I don't have much freezer space left and I would hate to have to fill it with pieces of you."

SammieK - April 26, 2005 11:37 PM (GMT)
He was joking, right...?

No, that wasn't a joking face.

She made a noise that sounded suspciously like "Eeep!" and turned and ran.

She doesn't want him to fill up his freezer with pieces of her, either.

Not at all.

Thus the fleeing.
