Title: Win/Lose
Description: continued. For Sammie

Danie - April 10, 2005 10:27 PM (GMT)
Some people say that it's possible to have too much fun. If they told Darcy, he wouldn't believe them. He had a great time on the bike - he especially enjoyed yelling "Woohooo!" whenever they skimmed a street corner. Or at any point he liked, really. He was having fun and he wanted everyone to know it. Though it's a strong possibility that Dave probably didn't like having Darcy yelling in his ear like that...

When the bike finally stopped, Darcy was little gloomy, but he still grinned as he took off the helmet and tossed it to Dave to put away.
"Awesome." he said.

SammieK - April 10, 2005 10:36 PM (GMT)
"Never ridden one of these before, have you, kid?" Dave asked, catching the helmet rather more easily than he'd been catching the frisbee and pulling off his own. (Mm, he might have to keep his hair this short. Much less chance of helmet hair when he took the helmet off...)

"'s great, inn't?"

He loves his bike; it makes getting around so much more fun than, say, a car. (Not that he doesn't admire nice cars too; he likes just about any kind of machinery/technology. Maybe that's why he's into tech theatre. Yay, Genie lifts.)

Danie - May 4, 2005 06:25 PM (GMT)
"No, never," Darcy shook his head, smirking. "It is great. I myself prefer cars, but the bike, it is awesome as well."

He looked around the back at the bike. "But 'ow do you get around in winter? It is cold enough right now, and it is spring. You cannot possibly ride it through the winter, you'd slip and crash..."

SammieK - May 4, 2005 06:31 PM (GMT)
"Actually, 's long as there's not a hell of a lot of ice on the roads, it's okay. Just have to be very, very careful. No daredevil stuff, y'know? And bundle up really warm." He shrugged. "If it's really bad outside, I take a taxi, but I try to avoid having to."

He camped out in the theatre once, because there was a snowstorm and his bike was not practical, but there was a show right on the horizon and he couldn't afford to pay for a taxi there and back every day.

Danie - May 5, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)
"You are crazy," Darcy said matter-of-factly, taking a few slow steps towards the entrance to the mall and swinging his feet to make more time. Not that he was above daredevil stunts and all that, but he didn't like the idea of motor vehicles and icy roads. He'd almost caused a few accidents on winter nights, when out running as a wolf.

(Meaning, people would try not to run him over, and the car would hit an ice patch - you can see how it goes from there.)

SammieK - May 5, 2005 07:07 PM (GMT)
Dave laughed.

"Yeah? I've heard it before, and not just 'bout the motorcycle--I hear theatre people are crazy anyway." The hours, certainly, are insane. What normal person wants to spend their evenings starting work at five (sometimes six, depending on when call is) and not getting done until eleven or later at night?

He stuffed his keys in his jacket and the helmets in the compartment of the motorcycle and waved for Darcy to lead the way into the mall.

"I'm starved, how 'bout you?"

Danie - May 5, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
"Heh... Yes, I am the same. Je pourrais manger un cheval tout entier," he chuckled, then realized that he didn't know if Dave would understand that last part. So he translated. "I could eat a horse."

He pushed open the glass door and led the way in. There was a slight increase in decibel level, thanks to the other mallgoers and the pop music - but it was nothing that wouldn't be expected.
"Though,... since there is nowhere here that serves horse-" He was joking, of course, "-Then I could go for a cheeseburger. And you?"

SammieK - May 5, 2005 07:27 PM (GMT)
"Cheeseburger sounds good to me, 's long as fries and a huge coke are included." Slathered in ketchup; we've seen before how much Dave likes his fries covered in the tangy red stuff. (Just not himself...)

He rolled his eyes a little at the pop music--it wasn't so much to his taste as certain other things--but didn't say anything about it. It's just the sort of background that you always, always have in the mall...

Danie - May 5, 2005 07:33 PM (GMT)
"Eh, it's your choice,.." he shrugged, speaking in a light, nonchalant tone.

"-you are the loser, after all," he added, grinning. A bit of good-natured teasing on his part - he liked to win just as much as anyone else did. If he thought it was bothering Dave, he'd stop immediately.

SammieK - May 5, 2005 07:41 PM (GMT)
Dave grumbled something--equally good naturedly--and playfully punched Darcy in the arm.

"Oh, quit it, you."

And here's the food court. I suppose I should mention that Dave really enjoys the smell of food and tends to savor inhaling the smell of the food as much as actually eating it. Thus why he closed his eyes for a second, before pointing at the nearest burger place.

"How's that one sound?"

Danie - May 5, 2005 07:52 PM (GMT)
He laughed, rubbing his arm and pretending that it had actually hurt. "You are razy and violent, now," he muttered, still grinning.

"Sure, sure - that one's fine. So - just checking - you are 'aving a cheeseburger, fries, and coke, oui? You can go find us a table, if that is right, and I will be back in only a moment."

SammieK - May 5, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
"Sounds right to me," Dave grinned, heading into the rather crowded food court to find an empty table somewhere. There were not a lot, unfortunately, but he did eventually find one near the middle.

Where he sat, waiting for Darcy to bring the food. Yay food.

Danie - May 5, 2005 08:10 PM (GMT)
Darcy ordered the food,... and the you know, for all the bad things people say about fast food, the short time it takes them to get your order to you almost makes up for all the junk that's in it. He scanned the crowd, trying to spot Dave.
Once he did, he made his way over, deftly balancing the plastic tray. He set it down on the table (no spinning, but he did it with a slight flourish) and slid into his seat.

"Dig in," he said, nodding to the tray and grinning.
