Title: Rum and Coke
Paris - November 22, 2003 12:46 AM (GMT)
Paris sat in front of a lonely table in a busy bar. She felt a little out of place in this dingy place. Bars were not necessarily her style. The first time she had ever stepped into a bar was the day before, pushed in by her friends against her will. Of course that's when she saw him. Yes, the only reason she came back could be summed up into two simple words: Cute Bartender! Not until recently had she learn that he was unavailable and unattainable, but his boyfriend was cute too so she didn't mind.
Paris sat twirling her long braid of brown hair, nursing her quarter dranken rum and coke. Her brown eyes mixed with the darkness, as she continued to catch glances of the bartender. She loved eye candy. Her trench coat was thrown on the chair beside her. She wore her usually jeans and faded gray t-shirt. She felt absolutely giddy, her legs rocked back and forth under the table. She wish her friends were there, so she could share the experience (to their dismay).
Zyra - November 24, 2003 02:03 AM (GMT)
Zyra came out of the back office and swung around the bar to help with the drinks, although she had only been in these city a short time already the pub was busy. Mostly tourist came here but there were some locals who also enjoyed it here. She smiled at the bartender as he mixed the drinks faster than the wink of an eye, he seemed to be doing just fine here. She also began to mix a couple of drinks before heading out to the crowd of people to check up on them. She went over to a loud group of men singing a silly irish song and asked them to turn it down a notch, a few odd looking ladies and next to a girl sitting by herself.*Is anything else I can get you, love?* She smiled at the girl and took a rag out of her back pocket to wipe the table a bit.

Paris smiled at the server. The answer was no but she couldn't help herself, maybe she could at least make someone laugh. "Why yes. I was wondering how much for the bartender... to go?" She gave a charming grin and then took a sip from her rum and coke.
Zyra - November 24, 2003 03:36 AM (GMT)
Zyra smiled and laughed slightly*Well, I dson't usually sell my employees but I will give you an introductin if you want*She looked back at the tender and nodded to him to come over.
Paris - November 24, 2003 03:41 AM (GMT)
Eek, well that was not the answer Paris wanted. He was coming over?! "Um... no... that's ok." She said waving her hands in front of her, cheeks glowing red. "No introduction necessary, really..."
Zyra - November 24, 2003 03:50 AM (GMT)
*Too late. You ask I give, I'm in that line of business* The tender came up to them and smiled. Zyra looked at him and chuckled*Matt, this young lady wants to know how much you would cost* Matt, the tender's name, looked at Paris and gave her a big grin*Anything you are will ing to pay, but I wouldn't say no to a kiss on me cheek*
Paris - November 24, 2003 04:01 AM (GMT)
Paris wanted to slide quietly under the table, where no one would see her. Unfortunately that probably wouldn't get rid of them. She had to think quickly. A little voice in her head was trying to give her strength. Ok, Paris you're in a hole, see the shovel? Start digging. "I... er... didn't mean... heh..." I meant up, idiot! Try again.
"I would, but then everyone else in this bar would probably be ordering a bartender, straight up. Now that would be some business I'd tell you. But I don't think you can make much profit from a kiss." Her cheeks were still blazing and there was still a nervous waver in her voice.
Jesse - November 25, 2003 01:26 PM (GMT)
The bell above the door ringed clearly and a small figure entered the bar, holding a sign to her small form. Looking around, she saw the bartender talking to Paris and walked over to him. *Excuse me, do you know where the owner of this place is?* The bartender, taken by surprise by the (young) voice, nearly jumped. *Oh, yeah, she's right here.* He pointed to Zyra who was standing next to him. *Oh..* Timidly, the young girl walked over to Zyra and held out the sign that red in large letters: 'Help Wanted'. *I saw this sign, and, ah, well, I would like to help out if I can..* She said, and bit her lip after she was done talking. Oh, sure, like a 7 year old is going to work at a bar, but, was she really 7? Something about her seemed to make some people think she was older then she looked, other didn't notice anything.
Zyra - November 26, 2003 02:38 AM (GMT)
Zyra turned to the voice and raised her eyebrow*Err, I'm sorry kid but you are a little young to be working here, you have to be at least 16 to work her during the day and 18 for the night life. So sorry love can't help you* She gave the girl a smile and turned back to Paris and her tender*Well, you might just want to be getting back to work now, Matt* Matt smiled at Paris and walked back over to the bar to help the now annoyed clients with their drink orders. Zyra took a ciggy out and smiled at Paris*You know where to find him if you want him*She turned to leave and noticing the small girl took her by the hand and lead her to the bar.*Don't your parents keep track of where you are going, you shouldn't be out so late love* She poured the kid a glass of coke and herself a whiskey*What exactly would you be able to do anyhow?*
Paris - November 26, 2003 03:14 AM (GMT)
Paris silently thanked the kid for saving her from a more embarrassing experience. It was certainly strange to see a young girl apply to a job at a bar. Paris started to wonder about her parents, who would leave a seven year old unattended? There wasn't very many good reasons to this. Paris decided to keep an eye on her, just out of pure curiousity.
Jesse - November 27, 2003 12:00 PM (GMT)
Sitting down on one of the barstools and taking a sip of the coke before she answered the girl turned her gaze back to Zyra and smiled. *Thanks.* She said and then carried on, more mature like but relaxed, more like just chatting over tea. *Of course my parents /would/ look after me, but me dad is gone, left years ago and me mum is real ill, so she would be working, but she can't, see? So, I got to work, I know the normal age for working in a place like this is 16, but I know how to do this stuff, see? My dad, before he left, made drinks and me mum did as well before she got ill, so I know the basic, and I don't go to school anymore, I'm a homeschooller, so I could work here durning the day and do school at night-or somethin'. Please miss, you've gotta hire me, I won't be useless, I swear!* Her more relaxed voice was different from what it was before, slang like. The girl looked straight at Zyra with her large brown eyes, more so with her left eye because her right, scarred eye was part blind. She had a pleading, mature look, and it was eerie like.
Zyra - November 28, 2003 03:12 AM (GMT)
Zyra takes a drag of the ciggy as she process everything she had just been given*Look, I don't want this place to be shout down. I just got here so that would not be a real good thing, but i guess if were to come in say an hour or two a day I may be able to find something for you to do*She drank her whiskey and grinned*I can't promise you anything and the money won't be that good but I'll start you at 6 an hour, what says you?*
Paris - November 28, 2003 03:46 AM (GMT)
Paris was bored of staring at the bartender and decided it was time for her to go. She left a three dollar tip on the table and made a quick exit.
Jesse - November 28, 2003 05:05 PM (GMT)
Grinning slowly, Jesse nodded. *Yeah, I don't mind that amount, anything helpful! Thanks miss! When should I start? Now? I don't mind if now, I can, and I promise if anyone 'big' people come, I'll ge' out o' the way so you won't ge' in trouble.* Grinning still very largely, she picked up her cup of coke and took a sip, and then took a good look around before turning her full left eye gaze towards Zyra.
Zyra - November 29, 2003 04:04 PM (GMT)
Zyra scratched her head and shook her head smiling*Come tommorow, anytime and you can began. Until that get on out of here*
