Title: To be at Rest is a Wonderous Thing
Description: Open I suppose, but mainly for Arcy ^.^
Kaylee - March 28, 2005 10:24 PM (GMT)
- It was late, a wee bit after midday and way past Keon's outside time. He didn't care though, mind you, he was quite content being outside in this colder weather, watching the sun, whenever he could see it, lower in the sky. White-grey clouds were puffed up and getting lower, a sign of rain that would come later, and many more of them were coming through, riding on the harsh wind. Trees were swaying back and forth, back and forth. These ancient trees who have seen much yet seen so little. They were wise and he had talked to quite a few throughout the day...they had a delightful conversation earlier on nixies and how to keep them from ruining other plants. Another strong gush of wind sent the old one's hair flying around, mingling with the lowering branches of a willow -
- One would think that surely, the child was very cold, but no he was quite comfortable in his thin, cotton clothes. They were ripped, frayed, and torn in numerous places and on the legs, mud had been splashed onto them. The at first cream colored outfit had turn a dark cream color. Master might be a wee bit dissapointed, but he wouldn't mind as long as Keon came home right? The fae retied the drawstrings of his pants and sat back down, ooofta, how nice it would be to sleep now, with the wind whipering gentle words while the trees sand to him -
- Well...it would be lovelier if Irvy was feeling better, that was why he turned back to the other boy who was nearly sleeping beside him. The poor thing had gotten hurt badly and so Keon had taken him out here for a while. Which was why he was still out here, right? He knew Irvy didn't want to go back to the house, even though his father was back. Kneeling beside the younger one, Keon looked down softly at him, smiling, he lifted up a graceful hand and caressed the other's forehead. How could one be miserable and remain so lovely? He looked cold too, for the stubborn boy had insisted that he needn't a coat or a jacket. Keon snuffled andeased the boy's head up, resting it and part of the upper torso so gently onto his lap one might think he was holding a crystal glass doll. And really...he sort of was. He lowered ever so slightly down, and covered the other boy with his long, wavy hair. Blue green eyes looked into half-way closed ones -
"How are you feeling now Irvy?"
Arcane Blood - March 28, 2005 11:00 PM (GMT)
Irving was almost asleep, indeed, after what he'd felt like was an eternity he was awake and enduring the hellish nightmare Oreon had left him to on the waterfront. Sleep was really the only time of day when he got to escape everythig... all his pains, all his troubles, everything...
Irving looked, in the most generous word you could use... badly mangled. And, he wasn't so upset that it'd happened, so much that he was upset that his fingers were broken. He wouldn't be playing his violin for a while, and that was a major thing for him. His violin was something he truly enjoyed playing, and now it was being taken away from him... it just bothered him.
And he still hurt from it, quite badly.
He looked up at Keon with a sort of half-lidded stare, and if one looked close enough, they would see that those eyes were truly sad, and quite gloomy.
"I... I am all right." It was weird... getting used to talking again. His voice was still raspy after having screamed so much, and he couldn't find the words to say. So he lied to Keon. He'd be all right, he supposed...
Kaylee - March 28, 2005 11:21 PM (GMT)
- A flicker of hurt flashed through Keon's eyes before quickly dissapating, in the four long years he has been with Irving, not once did he lie to him. That was why he felt like crying when Irving lied to him. Yes, he knew he had lied to him, it was so simple and easy to tell. The other one was miserable and it didn't help that Keon couldn't help him, if only he knew someone that could heal the other! Though Keon tried not to, his lower lip quivered, he wanted to cry because the other one was so unhappy that he had to lie to Keon. A sniff and a tear fell, thankfuly landing on Keon and not Irving, he didn't want the other one to know he was crying. He used his bangs to hide his face and his gentle hands stroked Irving's face carefully -
"O-oh, ooka-ay, good Irving..."
- He only wobbled a few times, which was good, but he couldn't stop the wimpering noise that often came along with crying. In an attempt to cover it up, he did a coughing hiccup noise and made a fake laugh. He wasn't use to feeling this way or crying, they were emotions that made him feel sad ,and Keon wasn't one to feel sad! He wanted to be happy! He wanted the ones he adored to be happy! Still hiding his face, he bent foreward and kissed Irving's cheek, if he kissed the other's forehead the boy ould have a clear shot of his face. He made a fake smiley voice -
"I'm glad to know that you're feeling better..."
Arcane Blood - March 28, 2005 11:34 PM (GMT)
And Keon actually believed him, that he was all right? Irving thought he was smarter than that, but... well, he didn't know Keon felt hurt, or else he'd take it all out on himself. He'd scold himself to no end for hurting him... he was too... lovely to be hurt. He couldn't do it. He didn't mean to, if he did. And he didn't know he did, or else he would have been truly sorry.
It wasn't as if he ignored the noises that Keon made, but he was simply just too tired for them to register correctly in his head. He waited a long, silent moment before saying something.
"I... I'm just tired is all. Just tired, Keon." And to prove his point, not purposely, his eyelids slid over his orange eyes.
Kaylee - March 28, 2005 11:46 PM (GMT)
- Keon gave a sad smile and continued to rub the other's shoulders and face. He made a cooing sound and kissed him once again on the other cheek -
"It's okay...you get some rest..."
- While the other slept, Keon allowed himself to cry. Tears trickling down his cheeks, falling onto his own neck and collarbone. He felt sad, sad for himself, sad for these emotions, but most of all sad for his darling Irving...the boy had gone through everything that should not happen to a child. A sigh escaped from his lips, even at his age, very few bad things had ever happened to him. He lifted the other up carefully and moved from underneath him. Setting the pretty head back down, he moved and sort of...curled around the upper torso so that the other's slightly curly head was touching his stomach while his right side was kept warm by the sprite's legs and the left side was kept warm by the upper part of Keon and the left hand was also being gently held against Keon's face. The trees had gone rather alarmed when the boy started and still continued to cry, so startled that the willow bent over and caressed both boys softly with her branches. The oak watched over them, he was rather confused with this whole emotion thing but the others told him not to worry about it and just keep watch. Keon gave a small smile, he loved the trees and they loved him back...hopefully he...well...Keon laid his head down, for he too was tired but not enough to sleep, rest was all he needed for now -
Arcane Blood - March 28, 2005 11:55 PM (GMT)
Irving rested, finally, his breathing just an almost silent, whispery kind of thing, which made it hard to tell if he was alive or not. But his chest was still fluttering up and bown with his breathing, so that was one way to tell.
Irving whispered Keon's name in his sleep, almost inaudibly, his usual smooth as silk voice, as aforementioned, quite raspy as of now. One of his hands curled gently around the fabric of his brother's clothing, a whispery sigh escaping his lips, though it was more of an exhale than a sigh.
Danie - March 29, 2005 12:40 AM (GMT)
"It's quiet out here," Wick observed, sighing. He was seated on Violet's shoulder, uncloaked by any illusions. No one was around, after all, so he could afford to be in plain sight. If anyone besides Violet was there, what they would see was a skinny seven-inch tall faery, dressed in patched-up leaf-colored clothes. He had a mop of tangled ginger hair, and a babyish face, and could barely pass for fifteen. Nearly a hundred and didn't look even a fifth of his age.
Well, if you didn't count the makeshift rebel-esque earrings in his pointed ears, anyway.
"You may have had your fair share of quiet, but I haven't," Violet sighed. "I'm getting so sick of the city noises. Cars, all the time." She shook her head, making her ponytail brush the back of her neck. Her hair was a dull brown, with a purple streak in it. It was shoulder length when she allowed it out of the ponytail, but that was rare.
"You get used to it," the faery said knowledgeably. "After a while."
Violet laughed, and dug her hands into the front pocket of her lavender hoody. "Sure, I'm sure you-"
She paused, having spotted the brothers up ahead. It struck her as unusual, maybe a little unnerving, that two people so young were out here in the woods alone (well, younger than herself - she was eighteen). They looked younger than her, anyway. Maybe they're lost? she wondered. Without a word, she reached up, picked up the faery from her shoulder, and plunked him into her hood, to hide. He swore at her and squirmed around for a moment before he realized it was probably better that he stayed hidden for the moment.
"Hello...?" she called, as she approached.
Kaylee - March 29, 2005 12:46 AM (GMT)
- Keon blinked, stopping himself from jumping at the sound of a female voice. He sat up and looked at her, his face tear-stained before he gave it a quick rub with his arm and he looked up again. Putting his finger to his mouth in the 'shh' motion, he motioned for her to come closer and took the oppurtunity to look her over -
'Is she human? She probably is...'
- The willow tree bent over and brushed his face gently before lifting back up 'in the wind'. A small smile appeared on the 'boy's' face, she was pretty. Something seemed off about this though...he stood up slowly, as to not disturb the other boy who was still sleeping -
"Good afternoon..."
Arcane Blood - March 29, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
Irving remained undisturbed from his sleeping, although he gave a shiver in his sleep. He should've brought a coat, for the boy wasn't used to such cold temepartures. He simply wore a t-shirt, and a simple pair of old jeans... nothing at all warm enough for this time of year.
The sleeping boy let out a soft moan in his sleep, following by a silent sigh. No matter how much he said he wasn't, he was still in pain from that night.
He fidgeted slightly, but did not wake.
Danie - March 29, 2005 01:00 AM (GMT)
Violet smiled apologetically, taking a brief glance at Irving before turning her gaze back to Keon. "Maybe this is a silly question, but you two aren't lost or anything, are you?" she asked. She smirked faintly, feeling Wick wriggle around in her hood. He was trying to whisper something to her, but she couldn't hear his whispers at the best of times.
"Stupid deaf humans," Wick muttered, sighing and sinking back into the hood, as if it was a hammock. He crossed his arms behind his head and waited. Conversations were boring when he wasn't allowed to take part in them.
Kaylee - March 29, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
- Keon's eyes widen in light surprise but they quickly go back to their 'normal' size and he smiles prettily, he liked this human already. He shook his head, the wavy hair swaying back and forth -
"No...We are not, if we were the trees would tell me were to go...but" - He gave a small, quiet laugh - "Thank-you for asking..."
- His bright smile still on his face, he bows and returns to his full height -
"I am Keon Lovejoy, and that boy" - He motioned to the boy behind him - "Is my brother, Irving, we aren't real brothers just to let you know. We had come out here for peace away from his...mother..."
- The cautious way he said 'mother' could tell those who understood tones that the mother was not well liked, not feared, but unliked and that they'd rahter never be around her ever. He quickly snapped out of the daze he'd been in and gave another smile -
"May I ask what brings you here?"
Arcane Blood - March 29, 2005 01:17 AM (GMT)
Irving's eyes briefly snapped open, just enough so that he could look around, with a quite confused and perhaps still hurt expression on his face. He looked dazedly about his surroundings... and to the girl. The girl? She hadn't been there before.
Irving looked up at Keon, confusion apparent on his pretty little face, until he closed his eyes and tried to get comfortable and sleep. He didn't sleep, but he was close to it.
Danie - March 29, 2005 01:31 AM (GMT)
"I'm Violet. Pleased to meet you," she smiled, taking note of the peculiar way Keon said 'mother', in case she wanted to ask about it later. "I came out here for a walk- I , um, I take a lot of walks. All over the place. But I got tired of the same old routes on the sidewalks and stuff, so I came out here."
Blah, blah, blah. Wick, lying in the hood, made a 'talking' motion with his hand, rolling his eyes.
Kaylee - March 29, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
- If Keon were to see Wick, he would have laughed, but since he didn't the authoress does it for him. Keon simply nodded and grinned -
"Makes sense to me...I prefer it away from our little man made forest...if no one was here I'd probably be dancing around naked..."
- He gave a small chuckle, no he was not embarressed to say that, he found the whole thing quite relaxing and freeing, being free was one of the best things one could be (authoress: hey! That nearly rhymed!...Go me!). So anyways, smiling, he reached foreward and grabbed her hand softly, gently pulling hre over to Irving, none too close abut not too far -
"We come here on a normal basis if we want to escape from the mansion...this forest is on the border of the property. We try to stay as far away as possible, but close as possible too."
Arcane Blood - March 29, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
(OOC: This is simply a courtesy post. Irving's sleeping, and there's not much else interesting to say. Go ahead and skip my turn for a little while.)
Danie - March 29, 2005 08:14 PM (GMT)
"Heh.... I don't know about dancing naked, but, ..whatever floats yours boat," Violet smirked, giggling. Inwardly, she chided herself for that schoolgirlish reaction. She was a little startled when Keon took her hand, only because it wasn't a handshake, and it felt somehow rude of him - even though she'd decided that she found nothing offensive about it. Violet cleared her throat with a cough, and then asked, "You come out here often, then?"
Wick, meanwhile, was beginning to get really bored. So he began poking Violet with the sharp nail on his index finger, even through the sweater. It was his way of saying, 'Pay attention to me. I'm bored, and I'm going to keep annoying you until you take the hint.'
Kaylee - March 29, 2005 08:59 PM (GMT)
- Keon laughed quietly and then rubbed his nose, floats his boat? Yes, water does too...He crossed his legs and rested his head on his hands, his large eyes looked at her with mild interest -
"Very often." - A mock toss of the head - "We think ourselves too beautiful and perfect to be near the messiness of society!"
- Another small laugh and he looked to Irving, quickly returning back to Violet -
"I am a large fan of nature and trees especially, like the willow, she udnerstands humans the most unlike the oak, he gets confused with 'that messy stuff' and I can't really expain it to him."
- He grinned and shrugged -
"You come out frequently, yes?"
Danie - March 29, 2005 10:44 PM (GMT)
Violet smiled. "Outside, yes... just not here in the woods. I'm beginning to think I don't come here as often as I should," she remarked. She reached back to itch the spot on her back Wick was poking at, and also tapped him on the head to make him stop.Wick scratched at her before she withdrew her hand, and she pulled back quickly. Seeing the little line of blood on her fingertip, she stuffed both hands in the front pocket of her sweater to hide them.
"Heh, beautiful, ... well, you're both pretty cute, I've got to admit that much," Violet went on, matter-of-factly. As if everything was normal and there was not a small annoying faery in her hood. "... You make it sound like the trees talk to you. Is that just a metaphor, or do they actually talk...?"
She wouldn't be all that surprised if he said yes.
Kaylee - March 30, 2005 12:05 PM (GMT)
- Keon watched with interest as she messed around with her hood and raised an eyebrow -
"Are you okay?"
- Not the tone where the person who is questioning is panickec, but the tone of just slight interest, but not enough interest that states 'Are you crazy?' He shrugged and grinned -
"Yea, they talk all the time, Irving can't hear them...normally humans can't anyways..."
- A shrug of the shoulders, yea he told her that most humans couldn't hear them (he has yet to meet one that can), but he didn't tell her he was not human...yet -
((omg..blegh, crappy post -bows repeatedly- I'm sorry! I just don't feel too well...))
Danie - March 31, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
"Oh, yeah, I'm fine. My hands are a little cold, 's all," Violet lied, with a faint smile. She had been tempted to stuff Wick into the pocket as well, but that would involve bringing him out into plain sight, and she wasn't going to do that.
Yet, anyway. This guy seemed like he was pretty much 'in' on the whole magic thing. Or else schizophrenic - ...communicating with trees...?
"Humans normally can't? Well, you obviously can." A teasing grin lit her face. "Are you human? If not, what else could you be?"
Kaylee - March 31, 2005 02:28 AM (GMT)
"What else can I be..."
- Keon did not say it as a statement, but not entireley as a question, to Vi, like he was contemplating something to himself then he smiled, returning Violet's teasing grin with one of her own -
"A nature spirit of some sort...I guess..."
- The oak made a coughing sound and Keon looked at it surprised, it then stated that he should just tell the truth, she was a safe girl. Keon simply shook his head, not yet, anyways, he didn't lie to her...he just didn't tell her all the truth...Ah, what a dork he sounded like wincng at himself he shook his head and returned to look at Violet, smiling -
Danie - March 31, 2005 01:17 PM (GMT)
"Really." Violet didn't look surprised - well, not very surprised. "And so... are you? A nature spirit, I mean?"
This was still said in an almost teasing tone, as if she didn't quite believe him. That way, if he wasn't being serious, she could say she was only joking. After all, didn't want him to think she was a lunatic or something. Though he seemed so easygoing, she doubted it would bother him if she was.
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 12:55 AM (GMT)
Keon looked at her carefully as if thinking deeply then grinned, "Nope!"
A gust of wind sent his hair flying and then he burst into a fit of laughter, it quickly died down just as quickly as it came and he scratched his head. In a friendly jesture he patted her leg, "But you're close! Make a few more guesses!"
He slid forward on the grass and swung his legs above him, his elbows propping his head up, looing up at Violet with his big eyes, "I'll give you some hints if you have trouble."
Danie - April 17, 2005 01:18 AM (GMT)
She thought for a long moment. Violet wasn't very much up-to-date on the different kinds of nature spirits and faeries and such. Though there was someone residing in her hood at the moment who would probably know... So she grinned at Keon, and asked, "Am I allowed to get a second opinion?"
If he was - what was the word, Innish? - then it wouldn't surprise him to see Wick. And she was tired of having the faery squirming around in her hood.
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 01:21 AM (GMT)
He blinked when she questioned him but nodded, fine with him. He smiled, "Sure! Fine with me!"
He stretched out, hair falling in his face, which he quickly brushed back, who would give her a second opinion? He wondered if she'd be able to guess correctly, he was mixed after all, half and half, if she wanted a hint, that would be it.
Danie - April 17, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
Reaching back into her hood, she lifted out the squirming faery and set him on the ground. He glared at her for a moment - Wick hated being picked up. Then he turned his attention to Keon. Violet nudged the faery with her fingertip. "Wick, what would you say he is?"
The faery was confused by the question for a moment. Had she only let him out for a silly question like that? Who was this guy, anyway? And the other one, the sleeping human... just what was going on? Violet grinned. "Keon, this is Wick. Wick, meet Keon."
Wick peered at Keon, and said finally, "...Sprite. You look sorta like a sprite..."
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 04:26 AM (GMT)
Keon watched Vi's moves carefully, and as she pulled a faery from her hood a wild grin spread across. He always loved them,so cute, this one was cute, with an aittude. He raised an eyebrow as the other looked at him. Wick is his name, little a candle wick, small and thin.
"Nice to meet you Wick!"
As the faery looked over him and came to a conclusion that he looked like a sprite, "Ah!" he sat up, "You are half correct! Here's a hint, I'm two fae races, half sprite and half...what?"
Just to help a little, Wick might recognize this. Keon let the glamor he uses to subdue his ahem, natural nymph beauty, to ware off, blasting them with the mental and physical beauty of nature for a moment before quickly toning it down with his glamor. He knew that little stunt would most likely reveal what he was, but hey, he loved doing that. He sat up, crossing his legs, smiling nicely to the two in front of him.
Danie - April 17, 2005 01:00 PM (GMT)
Having been a city-dweller for oh, years upon years, Wick hadn't met many beings of Keon's sort - that is to say, beings in tune with nature. It took him longer this time, frowning at Keon, with a searching look in his eyes.
Finally, he made a hesitant guess. "...Nymph?" he said.
Violet didn't comment. She didn't know anything about the different fae races. Well, Wick was the only faery she'd met, and she'd never bothered to do any research on the subject. How could she know anything more? One faery was more than enough trouble. Worthwhile trouble, but trouble nonetheless.
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 01:38 PM (GMT)
"...Nymph?"
A wide, delighted smile stretched across Keon's mouth and he, Wick might not like this but Keon doesn't care, picked up Wick in this hug but quickly set him down.
'Yes!"
A stream of laughter and and clapping soon followed, but it was quiet, he didn't want to wake up Irvy. this laughter was a bright delighted one, like birds singing in a blooming peach tree in the spring. Hapy, happy, happy! A few tears glided down his small face andquickly he wiped them off. the laughter had stopped now and he was looking at them with a smile.
"Well, you two are not the only Innies to know this, but you are the only two who took a litle longer than what I'm used to." A shrug. "Doesn't matter though, you didn't take as long as this one older man, he knew nothing about fae, only their names. His books didn't help him much either.." A small giggle. "But I must congratualate you two, two guesses! Very good!"
Danie - April 17, 2005 01:51 PM (GMT)
"I didn't guess, Wick did. I would never have figured it out on my own," Violet smirked, shrugging a shoulder. My, he was a happy person. She wondered if that had anything to do with his being fae. "It would have taken me a lot more than two guesses."
"Yeah, she's awfully slow in the head," Wick joked, still a little irked at having been picked up twice in the space of a few minutes. He didn't hold it against Keon, though - it was hard to be angry at someone who looked so happy.
The other person, though - the other boy. He was asleep, but he didn't look very happy at all. Wick, curious, clambered up onto Irving so that he was sitting on his arm. "Who's this?" he asked. "...He's not fae."
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 02:03 PM (GMT)
Ah, keon being happy didn't have anything to do with being fae, Keon was Keon. a happy person who loved to be around people, the more nicer the better.
"But you were smart enough to get Wick's help...that gives you some credit!" He looked to wick, "She was still smart enough to get your help, she must not be too terribly slow."
Keon turned around slightly as he watched Wick climb onto Irvy's arm. He smiled slightly, it'd be funny if Irvy woke up then and there...he'd have a lot of explaining to do too...
"His name is Irving Lovejoy, he is my adopted brother or should I say I am his adopted brother. It was his family his father adopted me into, I'm Mr. Irving's little pet, as they call me. He's human and Unnish, be careful, the poor thing ran into a very unhappy man and the man did that to him, broke quite a few things." A shaky sigh. "Poor Irvy wouldn't talk for a while, it doesn't help that things like this usualy happens at the house, his Mum or his sister abuse him, that is why I take him with me when I go out."
He did realize that he told quite a few things to the pair, but it didn't matter to him, he liked to tell peope things. People he trusted, if they break his trust they don't get it back. He didn't think that these two could posibly break his trust. Very nice people. He smiled softly and lifted a hand, rubbing Irving's lower abdomen, aka his tummy.
Danie - April 17, 2005 02:28 PM (GMT)
"...Poor kid," Violet said, feeling... a little overwhelmed that she, a total stranger, had been told all this, right away. Usually people don't tell these kind of things. They keep them hidden, as if it's something to be ashamed of. Oh, well. Honesty was nice. "... So he doesn't know that you're fae? Funny. You told me straight off - why not your brother?"
Wick, meanwhile, dropped out of the conversation in order to get a better look at Irving. He tilted his head to one side, observing the human boy's face, sort of absorbing his looks for future reference. He'd like for him to wake up and see him. He knew he shouldn't reveal himself to Unnies,... he'd get in trouble if it was found out how often that actually happened.
It was just so much fun, though. They were almost always surprised.
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 02:35 PM (GMT)
Keon shited, slightly uncomfortable, he didn't know why he hadn't told Irvy, maybe... "I guess I'm just not ready to, I've ben with him for 4 years, living in this family, he has enough things to deal with. Me suddenly dropping this load of infomation might really...well I don't know."
He shrugged slightly and pulled himself up completly, "I wish I could take him away from his home, but that would break his father's heart. Mr Irving is a nice mn, but he is always busy. Still..."
he scrathced his nose for a moment, "Still, he could use a few days, even a wek away from the Lovejoy house, too many terrible things going on. Katherine with her non stop torturing, Aviva with her constand chain of horrible boy toys..."
He shudered, though Irvy was usually the one to be at home and get unwanted attention from his mothe's lovers, Keon had been a victim of their uncomfortable eyeing. Nothing though that had ever happened to him could compare what has happened to Irving.
Danie - April 17, 2005 02:44 PM (GMT)
Violet sighed. She looked between Keon and Irving a few times. "You kow,... this is absolutely none of my business," she said, as a sort of warning about what she was going to say next, "But if the best thing for him is to take him away, then by all means do it. He shouldn't have to put up with that crap. And - Wick, don't even think about it."
The last sentence was directed towards, who else, Wick. He had on that look of his that meant he was about to do something he knew he shouldn't. In this case, it was pulling Irving's hair, to wake him up. He looked guiltily up at Violet, and slid off the human boy, onto the ground. "Wasn't doing nothing..." he mumbled.
The girl turned her attention back to Keon. "I'm serious, though. If it's as bad as you say it is, and if you have any way of doing it, get him out."
Kaylee - April 17, 2005 03:01 PM (GMT)
Keon nodded as violet talked, she had an excellent point, he should...he would...take him, call Mr Lovejoy and tell him they were going on a little vacation. Mr. Lovejoy wouldn't protest, there was no way he could deny his darling Keon-Keon anything. If Keon wanted the world, Mr. Lovejoy would conquer it in his name. Keon sighed, what loyalty. he looked to Irving with compassionate eyes, "Well Irvy, looks like we're going on a vacation."
"But..." He looked to Violet, "Where would we stay in this city? I don't know many places that have people, nor any place that rents out apartments, most are all full..."
He turned to Wick as Violet told him off in a soft way. he sighed and smiled softly, he knew what that was like. His attention was turned back to Violet, he liked Violet he decided, he liked Wick too. Another sigh.
"It's even worse than what I described, the things that have happened to Keon, his sister's tortuing sessions, he's lucky if he can escape her grasp, her Mom's boyfriends..." He stopped there, that was Irving's business, Irving was the one who decided what was said about that area of his life.
Danie - April 17, 2005 03:37 PM (GMT)
She frowned thoughtfully, then gave him a faint grin. "I'd offer to let you stay at my place, but I live in the dorms at Keaton, and it's just not possible. I had an apartment here at one point,... I'll keep an eye out for a place for you, if you want. There's always somewhere, if you know where to look."
Violet's frown soon returned. Torture? Boyfriends? For goodness' sakes... they hadn't done anything about it before now?
Wick seemed blissfully ignorant of the conversation, but wasn't. Once he was sure no one was paying attention to him, he crept back onto Irving, and whispered in the human's ear, so only he could hear, "You should run away, you know. I'll help you."

Keon felt guilty about that, for the first coupleof years he was blissfully ignorant of all of Irving's unpleasantries. Until he witnessed one. He'd been horrified and for the first time scared. He hadn't tried anything to make it stop so he felt worse, but he did help the boy afterwards. He nodded, Violet was right, there was always someplace available. College dorms were off limits, unless if Keon signed up at the college...pretend to be some sort of child genius, Irving could too. He scratched his head, meh.
Keon had noticed Wick, but didn't say anything he was too busy thinking. Blegh, he needed to figure out something quick. a small smile appeared on his face. What would Irvy say when he finds out about this little plan? A small sigh, he'd probably be willing to go along with it, as long as he didn't have to go bac to the Lovejoy mansion.
"Yea..."

"Alright," she nodded - always glad to help. Then Wick caught her eye, and she picked him up by the back of his shirt, transporting him to the ground several feet away from Irving. "Leave him alne, Wick, he's sleeping."
He looked guilty for a moment, then sighed, and sat down. Fine.
Violet dug around in her pockets, and in a few moments came up with a shred of paper and a pen. She held them out to Keon. "How about you give me your number, so I can call you if I find anything?"

Keon watched Wick and Violet with amusement, what an odd but cute pairing. Heh. A smile flashed on his face, lovely.
He blinked though when she handed him a peice of paper and a pen, umm..okay. He stared at it for a moment and then blinked again. Oh! Oh yea well, hmm...he knew his cell phone, should he give her his cell phone? No he never brought it with him, hmmm...well whatever, he'd have to remember to bring it with him then, yes?
He scribbled down three numbers, his cell phone, the mansion, and even Mr. Lovejoys, labeling each one. The mansion just in case he didn't answer the cell and Mr. Lovejoy's because he well, just in case or whatever. Unlike Aviva, he was a kind old man and very sweet. He wouldn't lie about Keon's whereabouts to Violet like Katherine or Aviva would.
((You know what? My name is Katherine...I named Irving's horrid sister after me o.0;;; Oh my >> Just random useless information for the fun of it ^.^))

Violet watched him put down the numbers, not without interest, but all the while she kept half her attention on the small faery, who was sitting in the grass, sulking. To pretend she wasn't paying attention to him, she went on talking to Keon.
"Have you ever lived on your own before?" she asked.
