On Charstats
Once is a roleplay that spans a considerable amount of in-character time.
In that light, please remember that although we like you, the roleplayers, to include physical description in every-day posts this does not mean that you don't have to be descriptive in the character sheet.
Charstats, or lists of character statistics (which are anything from age to hair colour to weight to weapon of preference) are not allowed. We don't like them. They are boring.
An example of charstatting:
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Green
Skin: White
Height: 5'5
Et cetera.
Please note that listing specific articles of clothing and calling them "attire" is technically permissible but impractical from a character point of view- you don't wear the exact same thing every day of your life, do you?
This does not mean you can post character stats as well as a description. Just leave out the character stats. Please.
If you're having problems writing your character sheet, PM a mod (me, for instance) and ask for help.
On Character Portraits
As many of us are fairly visual people ourselves, we understand the desire to have a visual reference to go with your character.
But please, PLEASE do not steal, borrow without permission, or generally misappropriate other peoples' artwork to use as your character reference.
There's a lot of artistic talent on this site. If you'd like a character portrait, please post on the OOC board and someone might oblige you.
Along these lines, please refrain from making use of "played-by"s- in other words, the use of photos, whether from modeling agency websites or of celebrities or just off Google, to represent your character.
On Random Things
BE DECISIVE. It's alright if a character sheet is incomplete, but please make up your mind about things like age, appearance, names, that sort of thing. If there are specific reasons a character has an unknown age or name, you MUST explain it in the character sheet. Unkown to the character doesn't mean unknown to you, the player.
Class does not mean occupation. Read the rules and the FAQ. If you want to put an occupation, say OCCUPATION. Don't put down your character's job as their class.
Heterochromia is not as original as you think it is. Think before giving your characters randomly different eye colours.
IF you say "I hope I'm doing this right" zombies will eat your unborn children and also your kidneys. This is not a bluff. Do the research, ask the questions, but don't ever say "I hope I'm doing this right."
