Title: El Pasillo de la Danza
Description: I heard Spanish attracts people... ;)

Erin - February 2, 2005 09:38 PM (GMT)
"El Pasillo de la Danza"- a little known but quite popular dance club. Perhaps six months old, it already has a reputation- half the people aren't even IDed when they walk in the door, nobody cares if you do something illegal there, and every fifth beverage you buy is free. It has, of course, become quite the hot spot for dealers, people on the run from the law, and young teens looking for a good time.

It's relatively shabby on the outside- just a big, concrete building. Inside, however, it's much different. All the lights are in the walls, flashing from every angle. The ceiling is high, and pitch black. The floor? Mirrors. All mirrors, reflecting the ceiling and giving the illusion of a bottomless pit. People dancing in the air. The dance area takes up 2/3 of the place. The rest are a long bar with lights under the glass counter, some tables and chairs, and of course bathrooms. The color scheme for the place is black, with neon colors splashed violently around in the form of lights, glow sticks, and the occasional puff of colored fog from smoke machines near the ceiling.

That evening, around ten o'clock, it was packed. The floor was incredibly crowded with people, most of whom were intoxicated with either alcohal or drugs, or both. A certain young woman, however, was not one of these people. She had entered and stood near the bar counter, though she had yet to order anything. A rather bored look graced her features as she looked around, obviously wishing something would happen.

=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

She flexed her fingers, watching the claws slide out. Iridescant green, nearly translucent, they caught the light that was cast from the club's walls. She let them slide back in smoothly, confident nobody saw- and if they did, they'd probably assume it was a beer or drug induced hallucination. If anybody questioned her? Well, she'd just have to deal with it.

She leaned against the wall, watching the dancing with vague interest. It was hot in the nightclub, but she didn't mind- her clothing choice was wise one. Her shirt was supported by straps that tied behind her neck. The back was low, as was the neckline in the front. Though, not to low. She wasn't one to just flash herself around like a brainless slut. The shirt was jade green, with some gold stitching at the bottom and along the neckline. Her jeans were old and comfortable, soft from frequently being washed. Her favorite pair, they were dark blue, relatively tight, and flared at the bottom. She didn't have a jacket, as her apartment was only a couple blocks away and the cold didn't bother her as much as it would normal people.

The top layer of her hair was pulled into a pony tail in back, and her murky green eyes were sheilded by the familiar metallic sunglasses. She obviously didn't need sunglasses in a nightclub, but she just as obviously really she didn't care.

Athena wasn't planning on eating anybody tonight- she just came to the club for dancing... but seeing as the floor was impossibly full, that didn't seem likely.

OOC: Danit! T.T i had my post almost finsihed and then what happens?!!? It shuts down T.T Hope it is good < been waiting forever to post ^_^

- Dark and loud, hot and sweaty, but so damn awesome. This was the damndest club she'd ever been to. She had been one of those people...out on the dance floor, lost to the beat and grinding against anyone and everyone they could touch. Until she had seen someone get knifed, not wanting that to happen to her beloved friends she pulled them out and got them to dance on a table in the bar section instead. She had been u with them, grinding with her friends to the rythym of ths funked out music not knowing that someone like Athena would be in her sight if she had simply just looked to her side. Her ability to sense magic and such was useless at the time since it was overwhelming her and causing a terribly painful migrane. Gods it was killing her. So she had jumped off the table and went over to the bar, odering the strongest booze that they could give her, and it really wasn't all that...achoho, doesn't have much of an affect on her. So she sits now, very much near Athena and feeling rather relaxed now...

She was currently trying not to pay attention to the drunks or under-aged kids at the bar, one had tried to get her to flash them but nope, no way in hell. Her 45E bust size would stay under the orange little strap that was supposed to be a tube top, sadly though it didn't cover much. Her blue jean mini shorts weren't much protection against the cold outside but she was glad she wore them for it must be over 90 degress in the building. Her feet were cozy and thankful for not being abused, for in fear of falling down steps in heels, she had worn some heavy duty yet decorative boots that were similar to and outdoor style instead. Around her neck was her iron chocker, of course she needed that, bu no jewelry decorated her becuase it would be most likely stolen eventually.

She downed a shot of whatever she had been drinking and looked over at her friends, waching them protectiely. She had sensed very unpleasant things when she walked in here...after all many non-humans were attracted to such a large gathering of mortals, many of which were not something you'd want to run into. Her stomach growled and she sighed, so much for food...that human she had earlier was rather greasy and the bartender told her there isn't anything but beverages where he was...damn...She sighed and shook her head, whatever, when she'd get home she'd treat herself to a nice warm bath.

She stood up and stretched earning some lookes from passerbys and people who were around her. Ignoring the urge to eat them all, she looked around, it seemed safe enough in this area...she popped her neck and downed another shot as she observered the people in her area, her eyes lingered over Athena for a moment before moving on

||Nah, it's waaaaaaaaay better than my post. I spent more time describing the club then talking about my character.||

Athena issued a huge yawn- not out of boredom or exhaustion, she was just yawning because it felt good, stretched her jaw. Apparantly she allowed her jaw to stretch a tad bit too far, because some people gave her odd glances and moved away. Losers, she thought, smirking a little.

And then she smelled... something. Underneath all the beer and drugs and sweat and human, there was something alien to her senses- and at the same time very familiar. She inhaled sharply, tuning into the scent. Another sphinx. It had to be. A different kind, though, not like her or her family. It was the first time she'd encountered one since she moved to Bayfield, which wasn't too long ago, really.

She'd come at the beginning of the new semester, just starting college at Keaton, transferring from her old university. Already she'd eaten three deer and a person at the park, and the paper (most reports she'd found on page 7 or 8) blamed dogs. Yeah, right. Anyway...

Athena tried to pinpoint the scent, but it was too hard. She knew it'd be useless to try and see who it was, because they probably looked as human as she herself. Then, the scent got stronger- the person was closer. She identified the woman, and focused intensly on her back, trying to analyze her, see if it was wise to approach. She glanced down, noticing her untied shoe, and stooped to tie it- thus missing the oppurtunity to make eye contact- and straightened up again. I don't have anything to lose, she decided, and approached the woman.

"Excuse me," she started, and then realized that she had absolutely nothing to say. It's not like she'd just flat out ask 'are you a sphinx?'- that'd be pretty tacky. And she didn't want to anger her, because fights (though fun) were often pretty messy. So she decided to go with the terribly cliche and rather lame, "I know what you are." She didn't say it loud or anything, in fact she practically whispered it. It was stupid and made her sound like an idiot, but Athena was rather desperate to talk to another person of her kind.

- Liona was somewhat dissapointed when Athena bent down to tie her shoes, darn it, but her friends shoting to her quickly took her attention to them. They were all waving and she waved back laughing, they were alright no one was attacking them, she shook her head when they tried to wave her over and motioned that she had a headache. They nodded and continued on dancing on top of the table. The voice of a female brought her attention back around. Her golden eyes fixed on the young creature before her as she stated she knew what she was, it might have been bettre for athena to ask if she was a sphinx, but she didn't mind. Blinking, she looked at Athena with a blank face, then a long smriky grin thing took over her mouth and she chuckled, her chuckle sounded more like a growly thing though. Raising her hand, she brushed back her hair beind her ears hen dropped it and spoke in a normal level of her tenor voice -

"Ah...I see, now...I know exactly what you are as well, similar to me but different, and if that is the case can you truly say 'I know what you are' without truly knowing exactly what I am?"

- She smiled an honest to goodness freindly smile, sure, she loved to use riddles once in a while, though she wasn't a true 'Sphinx' she was still a Sphinx nonetheless, a near exctinct speies too...But ah well, no need to dwell on such matters, focus on the current moment, ne? -

OOC: Yours was an intro post ^_^ it is still very good and told me what I needed to know about your char <3

Erin - February 7, 2005 09:33 PM (GMT)
Athena grinned. "Ay, but I never said I knew exactly what you were, I was speaking broad terms," she answered. She probably could have come up with a better answer than that, but she wasn't really in the thinking mood. "Anyway, I must say I'm very pleased to meet you. It's been a long time since I've met another."

"So... I've frequented this place quite a bit and not seen you. Is this your first time here, or have I just been ignorantly unaware of your presence?" She asked curiously. Most likely the latter, she thought, inwardly smiling. She was an ignorant person, and she knew it.

Kaylee - February 7, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)
- Liona laughed, pleased by the younger one's reply and attitude, very nice, no grumpiness or the hinting tone of 'I know everything'. She grinned and shrugged her shoulders, her incredibly thick Italian accent sounding pretty foreign when she spoke -

"Ah, I see, well I am as I said similar to you, my species is called a Gyno Sphinx, sadly though we're almost extinct...indeed, it is a pleasure to meet you my dear."

- She shook her head and looked around the area, her golden eyes fixing on some dangerous looking folk before returning to Athena's green ones -

"It's my first time here actually, my human friends told me this was one of the hottest clubs around but there was a lot of dangerous folk in here so they asked if I could come...they generally count on me to act as a bodygaurd, but I don't mind...as long as they're safe, ya know?"

- She smiled and offered her hand out in the human way to greet as she smiled - "My name is Bellodanna, but please, call me Liona."

Erin - February 9, 2005 09:27 PM (GMT)
She grinned. "Athena," she said, extending her hand as well and shaking. "And I didn't think you'd been here before... I know what most of the regulars smell like by now, I come here a lot," she added. A rather thoughtful expression crossed her face for a moment. "I don't really know exactly what kind of sphinx I am... I have a human relative, so I'm part human. But sphinx-wise I have no clue. I don't think my parents know, either."

She cocked her head, suddenly realizing how strange that was- it was like not knowing your nationality. Well, she knew that her family had been in the country for about two-hundred years, so maybe they just sort of... forgot. "Anyway, are you enjoying yourself? You can practically get high here just by breathing there's so much crack around."

Kaylee - February 11, 2005 11:59 PM (GMT)
- Liona nodded and grinned herself -

"Indeed, but such human things don't effect me, it takes quite a lot..."

- She paused and studied the young woman, indeed, part human, hm? Heh, she was soo cute! Not being able to control herself she pulled the younger one into a glomp/hug and laughed. Pulling away she holds her arms and looks over her nodding -

"Sorry, I am just so happy to meet a relative, even a distant one...since you are one of my kind, you are a relative. But yes, yes, I have been here for what? Only about 5 years...I have lived in Italy all my life, as well as my ancestors, who also came from Africa...but part human? That would make you even younger than I thought..how old are you may I ask?"

Erin - February 16, 2005 12:01 PM (GMT)
She grinned, then blushed a little. "Honestly? I'm twenty-one. Like, appearance /and/ total. Not very old," she said, sighing a little. "My mother is four hundred and six, though," she added. "It is good to meet another here. I've spent all my life growing up in a family of us, but to be perfectly honest family is different from friends," she said.

||So-o sorry for short nasty post... I have to be at school very soon...||

Kaylee - February 16, 2005 09:15 PM (GMT)
- She coughed and blinked, her eyes widening -

"Wow! Make that a lot more younger than I thought...hmm...quiet a age difference between us then, ne? I am..." - She thought for a moment, rubbing her chin - "....483?...yes I beleive so, I am 483 years old..."

- She chuckled and snuck a look over to her friends before returning to Athena -

(('Tis okay! ^_^ mine just about as short, sorry about that too... -sighs and shakes head- ^.^;;;))

Erin - February 17, 2005 12:22 AM (GMT)
Athena grinned. "This place is just so cool though, isn't it?" she said, looking around the club. "I love going here." She paused a beat, then resumed with: "Well, I'm going to go get a tasty beverage... mind if I join you when I get back?" she asked. It was so hot inside, that anything cold sounded good to her- even if it was something odd like tomato juice.

Kaylee - February 17, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
- Smiling, Liona nodded and looked over to the dance floor...damn...well, someone just got knifed...that one just got tackled and a few other people were falling over...that doesn't look too good....she sighed and shook her head, taing a sip from her glass, after this she will go skinny dipping or something like that...yea...so hot in here, it made her wish she was outide freezing her ass off...but not really...She chuckled and downed the rest of the glass before tossing it to her side, the oppposite of the direction Athena dissapeared off to -

Erin - February 21, 2005 12:35 AM (GMT)
Athena slid through the tightly-packed bodies towards the counter. Somebody across the room caught her eye and winked suggestively. She flipped him off and proceeded to purchase her drink- a margarita- and made her way back to the table and her new friend. There were, she noticed, some interesting developments on the dance floor- not that anybody at the place seemed to care. She shook her head. /Humans are so immature,/ she decided. Somebody knocked into her and she spilled part of her drink on her shirt. Scowling, Athena slapped the offender across the face and returned to the table. Okay, okay... she's a hypocrite.

"So, ah... where do you live? My apartment is a few blocks away, so I come here all the time," she said upon returning, sinking into a chair.

Kaylee - February 21, 2005 01:13 AM (GMT)
- Liona looked up and greeted Athena, she studied the drink in her hand. A margarita, girl has good taste. When someone trips and spills their drink on her, she slaps them, causing Liona to laugh, she could relate to the girl. When she asked her about where Liona lived she brushed back some hair and grinned -

"I live..." - Stopped and rubbed her nose, where did she live again? - "Well, I have my own apartment, but sometimes I stay in the college dorms, I'm a student."

- Her grin got bigger and she laughed lightly before taking a glass of water from a waitress -

Erin - February 22, 2005 09:22 PM (GMT)
"Oh, really?" she asked, taking a sip. "I'm actually a student, too, but I didn't really like the dorms." She took another drink- margaritas were definately one of her favorite alcoholic treats. "I've heard quite a few interesting stories about this city, but really nothing that amazing has happened yet while I was here," she said, leaning back in her chair. "Is it really all that it's made out to be by the magical community?" she asked.

Kaylee - February 26, 2005 10:45 PM (GMT)
- She laughed and nodded -

"Ah, I see...but yes actually, it can be VERY exciting but also very dangerous, for instance in my class there is some demon named Alida, he keeps up a polite mask, but I'm not sure that I can trust him...he's in my psychology course. He's intereesting enough, but I have met some very....uniqe people."

- She grinned and chugged down the glass of water, it was hot and she was thirsty, combo works well together -

Erin - February 27, 2005 06:37 PM (GMT)
She nodded. "I've met a pyschic before... mind-reader. I didn't like her much. Don't remember her name. I think she tried to rob a bank though. I think she got away with it." For the first time Athena pushed up her sunglasses, revealing her eyes to the world. Not that they were utterly fantastic or anything. She just like her sunglasses. The metallic wrap-around kind that's mirrored so nobody can see which way the wearer is looking. She pushed them up on top her her head, blinking a little in the strobe light. "Where do you go when you're not clubbing?" she asked curiously.

Kaylee - February 27, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
- Liona twirled the litle umbrella thing in her mouth and grinned -

"Just out generally, maybe once in a while I'll go to that old bookstore to see if I can find any book on the Innie world...but I'm usually caught up in my studies and avoiding things I don't want to get near..."

- She shrugged - "I generally don't have a moment to rest, how about yourself?"

Erin - March 2, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
"Well, outside of studying I do. I don't really know that many people yet. Usually I hang out at the park, or at clubs like this," she replied. Athena took another drink, leaning back in her chair. "I don't like walking the streets very much... I got lost once and ended up in some little alley maze thing. That wasn't much fun." She grinned.
