Title: In the middle of nowhere
Description: For Oneofmanysouls
Massacist - September 21, 2004 02:52 AM (GMT)
Verkur shouldered open the front door, which had practically caved in on itself anyways and entered the long hall. The unfinished house was unfurnished and empty. It echoed with his soft footsteps. It was dark, as there were no windows, dusty, as no one cleaned the unlived in homes, hauntingly silent, as the only two living breathing creatures that were there were Verkur, the demon of chaos, and his Human, Erik.
His leather wings folded against his back as he entered one of the rooms. This one was darker, if it was possible, and smelled of candle wax. And why not? Candles of various colors shapes and sizes littered the barren room. This room does have fruniture, only two peices, accompanied by various shelves on the walls.
In the middle of the room is a high backed, winged black velvet chair, fit for a god...or a demon. The floor is hardwood, dark wood. Tucked in one corner is a queen sized matress lying alone on the floor, two pillows, one used, lying in the center of the matress, the other not, lying at the top where it belonged. A pile of gray blankets accompanied it. No sheet on the matress.
The shelves had ancient books, books in another language, some he'd written himself. On the floor were many stacks and piles of old and new books. One black one lay open in chair, it was english, flipped open to a page. A page that gave directions to summon the god of Death,
Verkur walked over and, not lay, but dropped his human on the matress, pulled a pile of covers over his body, blankets that had a sweet and sour but all around good smell of Verkur. He didn't cover his wings, which is why it dosn't smell of dead or burning flesh. Then he retreated to his chair, sat, and began to read in silance.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 03:13 AM (GMT)
Erik was finally starting to slowly come to. He felt himself dropped and bounced slightly. He felt something cover him then. He couldn't mistake the smell that surrounded him. Verkur.
Slowly he cracked open one eye ever so slightly. So slightly that it was hard to tell that he had even done so. He couldn't see much of anything with it barely cracked open like that. Hesitantly he opened both eyes.
He was laying on a matress in a corner. His eyes traveled quickly over the room trying to figure out where the hell he was. He wasn't totally sure if he was dead or not. He didn't think so but one can never really be sure of something they don't know anything about.
His eyes took in the candles of various colors, shapes and sized that were all over the near empty room. He saw the shelves lined with books.
Then his eyes fell upon a chair that was in the middle of the room. A black velvet winged high backed chair. In that chair sat the demon. Verkur. It appeared the demon was reading something.
Erik's eyes continued to scan the room. What was he looking for? A way out of course. He wasn't seeing any way out. Of course, had he spotted a way out he probably wouldn't have been able to sneak past verkur.
He wanted to just shut his eyes and never open them again. Ever. But since that probably wasn't an option he opted to softly clear his throat. "Ahem" was the sound he made ever so softly and quietly. The fear was unmistakably still there.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 03:21 AM (GMT)
ahem
Verkur did not look up. Not even breifly. Had he even heared the man?
Actually, the demon of chaos was so utterly obsorbed in the book that Erik could have jumped up and down and set his toes on fire and the demon wouldn't have noticed.
Regaudless of whether he looked up or not, the Demon had indeed heard the indistinctive sound that came from Erik's throat. And he didn't smile, didn't fight back a glance or a smirk. Nothing. He did nothing.
One minute passes.
He turns the second page of the minute. Still, the top lable of the page reads God of Death in bold distinctive leters. His white eyes scan this page as well. Then slowly, without looking up, he pulls a ribbon from the book to mark his place, clses the book and holds it as he glances up.
He mockingly widens his eyes. "You're up!"
A low chuckled. "Come now Erik, did you really believe I would drop you?"
He should. Because had it not been for the blasted code, he very well might have.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 03:27 AM (GMT)
By now Erik had pulled himself up into a sitting position. Out of curiousity he had been trying to strain to see what the demon could possibly be reading that had him so engrossed and seemed to be ignoring Erik. He watched as the demon turned the page and he was able to catch a brief glimps of the words across the top of the page in bold letters. God of Death. His eyes widened as he scrambled backwards on the matress until his back was shoved in the very corner.
Come now Erik, did you really believe I would drop you?
He outwardly flinched sharply at hearing his name yet again come from the mouth of the demon.
"Yes," he mustered out in a frightened whisper.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 03:33 AM (GMT)
Another soft chuckle and he put the book down, bushing it slightly underneath the chair. What had happened to his wings? They weren't there.
Yes they were. His wings had closed tightly against his back, then folded down over his shoulder, the claw hooks on the top of each wing was hooked togather. All of it created a torn leather claok look.
He'd taken his hair down from the holder and hit hung loose to his elbows, framing his sharp face. His white eyes and all his attintion is now on Erik.
"Good."
He stood and picked up a packet of matched. He struck one and lit a candle. It glowed, leaving a little circle of light in the fairly dark room. Then another.
"A little worry is good for your health, Andlagur. Remember that."
A little? A little worry? Now there's a knee slapper.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 03:41 AM (GMT)
Erik's eyes traveled to where Verkur's wings were hooded together by the claw making it look like he had on a cloak. He also noticed that Verkur had let his hair down. It made him have a different sort of appearance in Erik's opinion.
He squirmed slightly under the demon's attentive gaze. Erik had once again gone back to refusing to look at Verkur's face. In a sense that was his way of showing submission you could say.
He noticed as the room light up by candle light. Still he didn't look at Verkur.
A little worry is good for your health, Andlagur.
A little worry? Who the hell was he kidding? He scared the shit out of Erik. So much so that the poor guy had passed out from fright.
Remember that.
Oh yes. Erik would indeed remember THAT quite well. He nodded his head ever so slightly.
"Y... yes sir," he choked out.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 03:54 AM (GMT)
Indeed. While His hair pulled away from his face, he was aristocratic in feature, bearing royal resemblance, and he appeared intimidating and cocky, his hair left unleashed caused a softer look while still maintaining the strength, royal freatures, and power. No cockiness, less intimidating.
The demon contined around the room. Each set of candles were scattered around the room in little sets of three. No other patteren except three. And at each group of three, he lit one candle.
"You were going to tell me about this new sweetheart." He inclinded in a purring tone.
No, erik wasn't...but Verkur's sure he is now.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:01 AM (GMT)
Less intimidating Verkur may be with his hair down but Erik was still incredibly frightened. And who wouldn't be after thinking you were getting dropped into a fire from the sky?
Erik's eyes followed the demon's form as he went around the room lighting candles. His eyes not once looked at the demon's face. No way was he going to either. Nope nope. Not at all. Every time he looked the demon in the face he ended up doing something stupid to piss Verkur off.
You were going to tell me about this new sweetheart.
He was? He didn't remember that actually. But was he going to argue about that now? Oh hell no he sure wasn't.
"W... what do you want to know?" he asked hesitantly.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:12 AM (GMT)
He was pleased that Erik was asking him what exactly he wanted to know, instead of jabbering on about all of the unimportant thing that Verkur cared nothing about.
Verkur showed his pleassure by looking over his shoulder, a closed mouthed smile on his lips. He knew his teeth and smile showing those sharp bones frightened Erik. So he didn't show them.
This was more like A Verkur and his property type of Demon of Chaos. When he was pleased, he let them know it, a smile, a pat to the cheek, claws through the hair. Simple things, some might frighten, others will make you happy, but eaither or, you always knew he was pleased.
When he was displeased, well, Erik knew the sort of things that happened. You're poked, proded, clawed, slapped, hit, soemtimes pinched, threatened on your life (literally). And so far, to that point, all Erik had done was displeased him.
Now he was awarded with the un-toothy smile.
"His name would be nice for a start."
Not a question, but then, scarcly anything that came from his lips was.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:20 AM (GMT)
Verkur may have shown him a closed mouth smile but Erik didn't see it for he refused to look at Verkur's face. He wasn't tempted to be a little shit head when he didn't look the demon in the face. And right now he cared a bit more about his life than the previous meetings with the demon.
His name would be nice for a start.
Erik know it wasn't a question and it wasn't just a mere request. It was something that he must answer or suffer consiquences. At right now he couldn't stomach anymore consiquences. He'd had enough of being scared shitless... almost litterally scared shitless there for a while as he dangled in the air above that blazing fire.
"Lucifer," he answered in a whisper. He cringed as he gave the demon the name of the only one he cared about so much. The last thing he wanted was the demon to know anything about Luc. He didn't want the demon to bother Luc at all. But alas, he had to either obey or suffer.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:27 AM (GMT)
"Lucifer What?"
No hesitation to the question, no trying to sneak around the bush to get a last name. He'd simply come right out and said it. Sheer bluntness.
He already knew a first name. They'd established that in the ally prior to Erik's flight. Now he wanted the last name.
Undoubtedly, Verkur may have already caused trouble in Lucifer's life that the man would know nothing about. Chaos. Not just to one, or to a few. It was for anyone that Verkur could get his hands on.
"And his age? He's...older?"
He guessed that. Older or the same age. A slim possiblility of being wrong, but he'd learned his animal instincts were right seven out of ten times. He'd learnt to trust them.
He stopped lighting candles and tossed the book of matches aside.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:33 AM (GMT)
Lucifer What?
Erik cringed slightly. He really didn't want to be having this 'conversation' if you could even really call it a conversation.
"Valentine," he whispered quietly. It was almost as if it wasn't Erik answering at all. His own voice sounded so distant to himself.
And his age? He's...older?
Why did he want to know Luc's age? Didn't matter. He wasn't going to question the demon.
"One year younger," he replied in that same whisper. It was easy to hear the fear in his voice... unless you didn't want to hear it.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:40 AM (GMT)
No. Verkur wanted to hear the fear. That was the number two reason for this conversation. Degla lived, thrived off of chaos, disorder, mayhem, madness...fear.
He noted the fear and anxioty that always accomponied these questions. The only time he'd not gotten his way was with the seer. Who is your lover? Noone. Havn't you got one? Never had one. Do you love anyone? No. Everyone I loved is gone. Have you got friends? No. None? None. Do you even have a fucking life? No. It was stripped from me.
Ohhh, that one had really frustrated Verkur. What was worst, and only barely different from Erik, was that Emrys was as stuborn as an ass, which Erik was as well, and as Erik hadn't breifly, Emrys had no memory. It was different. Erik remembered. Emrys did not.
"You make this so much easier on youself," Verkur comented, obvious relaxation in his tone, "then that damned Seer does." Another thought. "Probably even easier then the shadow."
He smiled. The chaos demon was racking them up, his 'collection' was growing.
"Where does he live?" There's a question the Erik would really struggle over. "Who is his family?"
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:46 AM (GMT)
Erik didn't question the comment that Verkur had said. He was curious but wasn't about to say anything. Nothing at all.
Where does he live?
Erik squeezed his eyes shut tight at that question. Panic rising in him. He knew that he'd probably regret not answering straight forward but there was no way he was going to make that question easily answered.
"In an apartment," was all he whispered out weakly. No more than that did he offer.
Who is his family?
"No one," he answered. Not entirely true but sorta.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:55 AM (GMT)
Verkur looked over his shoulder at those two half ass ansers, walked towards Erik with his clawed hands in tight fists. But instead of heading straight to Erik and stricking him, he stopped at the chair and sat down.
"No family at all?" That wasn't a big deal to Verkur, just a question out of curiosity.
Actually, now that he had a first and last name, he could find out anything on Lucifer Valentine without even asking his Eric.
"What apartment, Andlagur? Where, what's it look like."
Details.
He wanted specific details of everything. Absolutly everything it seemed. He often asked to specify, to go into deep description about everything. He wanted it writen out to him like a book.
"He doesn't beat you?"
Was that a...thats right. A protective note in his tones. No one but himself was allowed to torture, harm, or harass his beings and shadows and creatures.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 05:07 AM (GMT)
Erik had briefly opened his eyes and looked up in the direction of Verkur. Only to shut his eyes quickly again for the demon was walking straight towards him with his clawed hands in tight fists. Erik just knew he was gonna get it again.
But the blows he expected didn't come. Curiously he opened one eye to see Verkur had stopped at his chair and had sat down. He lowered his head so that he could open both his eyes and was looking straight down upon the matress that he was sitting on.
No family at all?
"No," he answered. Just one word. He didn't need to say anymore. It was of course a lie because Lucifer had told him that he's got a half brother. But since he's never met the person he didn't really acknowledge it.
What apartment, Andlagur? Where, what's it look like.
"An apartment building in the city. I don't know the name of it. I never paid any attention. I only know where it's at. I know my way to it. It's on the seventh floor. A cute little place it is."
Who was this that was answering the demon like this? For surely it wasn't Erik. At least Erik didn't think so for the voice didn't sound like it was coming from him.
He doesn't beat you?
A horrified look crossed Erik's face at that question but it wouldn't be easily seen since he didn't lift his head at all. His hair had falled forward hiding his face quite nicely when he lowered it to look at the bed upon which he sat. He had heard the protective note in the demon's voice but ignored it totally.
"No!" he replied with a bit more force than he probably meant for it to come out with.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 03:28 PM (GMT)
Verkur seemed to sink back into the chair, utterly relaxed, completely at ease. A moment ago, he'd seemed on edge. On edge when he'd asked that question. He really was, shocking to most, very protective of his humans.
He fixed his white gaze on Erik, a long, silent, steady gaze, searching for something. Lies. Was this man really beating his erik?
No. He wasn't. But he did find one lie hidden in Erik, at least he thought he did. In Erik's pulse. When people lie, their pules eaither speed up, or adds an extra beat while they're telling the lie. And a demon such as himself can hear, smell, know what the blood of another is.
A walking lie detector!
"Does he have family Andlagur?"
Well, he keeps asking the question, he obviously knows Erik is lying. But to what degree he isn't sure.
"What does he look like?"
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:15 PM (GMT)
Does he have family Andlagur?
Did Verkur know Erik wasn't being honest? He must or he wouldn't keep asking that question. He began to fidgit with the laces on one of his boots.
"His mom is dead," he replied. Not a lie. But not everything either.
What does he look like?
Erik closed his eyes as the image of Lucifer came into his mind. How he wished he was in the apartment with Lucifer right this minute instead of where he was.
"He has dark red, shoulder-length hair with bleached white streaks, celery green eyes, and two piercings on the cartilage of his right ear. He has a scar tracing down his whole jawline. He has a tatoo on his back of a yin yang, but it has a green circle with vines and thorns growing on it for a border, and right underneath it he has a scar tracing down his whole lower back. He's got a tattoo on his chest of a heart with a sort of crack going right down the center of it. He is average muscled, and is five feet six inches."
Silent pause...
"He's beautiful," he whispered out as well.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:26 PM (GMT)
"So he's got a father."
He didn't care if his mother was dead. He wanted to know what family was left.
"What else."
Then he closed his white eyes, summoning up a picture of a man that looked similar to what Erik was talking about. He got a picture, but it wasn't the right man. It was someone from his own past.
Degla Rome.
He sneered, then smirked. Then opened his eyes and tried for another image. It couldn't be Degla...or maybe it could. Red hair, yes, medium average build, yes, shortish...that would be his assassin.
"He's not insane is he?"
No. He knew that answer after he spoke it.
"Deg has blue eyes, not green. Nevermind." He sat back again.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:31 PM (GMT)
So he's got a father.
"I guess," he replied.
What else.
"A half brother. But I don't know anything about him."
He's not insane is he?
"No! He's not!" Erik replied with a tad more force than he meant to.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 04:37 PM (GMT)
Verkur glared at erik, his claws tapping together, not in a soothing sort of way. This came more as a threat then anything else. He was letting his Erik know he was int he wrong.
"A brother?"
A smile.
"Watch yourself Andlagur, your treding on thin ice."
A verbal warning? That's not very common. Maybe it's that he's in his own envornment that's mellowed him out slightly. No. as long at the area's a disaster he's in his enviornment...like that fire.
Maybe his hairs not in a too-tight poney tail.
"And where do I find this brother and father?" He cocked his ehad to the side. "Do you even know?"
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 04:47 PM (GMT)
Erik heard the tapping of the demons claws and didn't find it soothing at all this time. He cowered down a bit and a weak whimping sound came from him.
A brother?
"Half brother," he found himself correcting. "And yes."
Watch yourself Andlagur, your treding on thin ice.
Another barely audible whimper came from him. The last thing he wanted to do was piss off the demon anymore than he already had.
"S... sorry," he whimpered out.
And where do I find this brother and father? Do you even know?
"I... I don't know. H... honest," he stuttered out and shook his head as he spoke. And he wasn't lying at all about that. For he really didn't know. He didn't want to know.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 05:05 PM (GMT)
"Lucifer would know though, right?"
He'd heared the whimpers, he took them as apologies of sorts and ceased tapping his claws togther.
He leaned over and picked at the fire with his claws, then with his fingertips.
"Maybe I should have a chat with Lucifer one of these days.
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 05:12 PM (GMT)
Lucifer would know though, right?
"No... Yes... I... I mean. I think so." What a bunch of jumbled answers that was. Erik didn't know if Lucifer knew where either of the men were. He never asked. Again, he didn't want to know. Not after what Lucifer had told him.
Maybe I should have a chat with Lucifer one of these days.
Another whimper. It sounded... pained. He didn't want this demon to bother Lucifer. He wanted to protect Lucifer from Verkur. But how? How could he possibly protect Lucifer from the demon when he, himself, was scared to death of Verkur?
"No," he whimpered out at the risk of getting in trouble yet again.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 05:19 PM (GMT)
"No?"
He straightened in his chair, sitting up and fixing glowing white eyes on Erik. They literally were glowing.
"You tell me no?"
He stands and walks towards Erik. He's got balled fists again, glowing eyes, black hair framing his gray face, hanging in his eyes, causing them to look like broken class.
"You tell me no?" He repeated once he reached Erik. Raised a fist, but then didn't stop at Erik. He continued to raise it and pulled a book from a shelf above the matress.
"Very well then."
He turns his back and leafs through the book.
"Give me a terribly good reason to leave your beautiful lover alone."
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 05:31 PM (GMT)
No?
He cowered down more and whimpered again.
You tell me no?
Oh great. He's in trouble again. He heard movement and looked up to see Verkur striding towards him with his clawed hands balled into fists. He still wouldn't look in the demons face.
You tell me no?
He squeezed his eyes shut when Verkur reached him and had raised one of his powerful fists. He cowered down even more and waited for the blow to come that he was sure he was going to receive.
Very well then.
But the blow never came. He opened his eyes again but only a little so that he could look up at the demon. He'd turned his back on Erik. He heard the sound of turning pages.
Turning pages? A book? He was reading a book? What the hell? Erik was confused.
Give me a terribly good reason to leave your beautiful lover alone.
Oh hell. Erik better come up with a pretty damn good reason. Think Erik. Think hard. Fuck. What would be a good enough reason for this demon? An idea came to him then.
Meekly like a scolded puppy he crept across the matress without getting up too far until he was directly behind the demon. He lowered himself to the matress all the way and whimpered again.
"I... I..." You what? Spit it out already. "I... I don't want..." Don't want what? Come on Erik. Just say it already. Get it over with. "To... share..." Fuck man. Quit dragging it out. "Y... you... with... him..." You fuckin kiss ass!
Massacist - September 21, 2004 05:46 PM (GMT)
With him? What did he mean with him? Did he mean with him the way that verkur was with Erik, and Emrys, and Acid, and Ebony? Or did he mean the way that Verkur was with Viol?
Verkur made it clear that he would not sleep with any of his humans...or shadow. He made it clear to them. He would only be with his god, Sans.
"What do you mean me with him?"
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 05:59 PM (GMT)
Oh no Erik wasn't meaning in that sense. Erik would have gagged if he even thought of that.
What do you mean me with him?
Another whimper from Erik who is still cowering on the matress directly behind Verkur.
"Y... you're... attentions."
Damn suck up. Piss him off then kiss his ass. Way to go Erik. What a sniveling coward.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 06:12 PM (GMT)
"My attintion. You mean the way you have my attintion?"
Gentil tone, still a whispering raspy voice.
"He's already got my attintion, Andlagur. He's with you."
Still a soft tone. He turns his back on Erik again and walks over to sit down in his chair and begins reading one page.
"I'll need a better reason then 'you don't want'."
oneofmanysouls - September 21, 2004 06:27 PM (GMT)
My attention. You mean the way you have my attention?
He nodded his head slightly. "Yes," he managed to whisper out. He really wasn't thrilled with being a kiss ass but if it protected Lucifer then he'd do it.
He's already got my attintion, Andlagur. He's with you.
Grrr... Obviously his ass kissing wasn't working.
"Fine. I won't see him anymore then." He didn't whisper that out but he didn't shout either. There was obvious pain in his words though because it did indeed pain him to say that. But if that's what it took to keep Lucifer safe from the demon then so be it.
I'll need a better reason then 'you don't want'.
"Do whatever you want to me then. Just leave him alone!" There was that little bit of forcefulness again. Erik really should just learn to keep his mouth shut.
Massacist - September 21, 2004 11:23 PM (GMT)
"Fine. I won't see him anymore then."
Verkur turned, face Erik again, a swish of the tattered wing's that were in a cloak right now. A slight shrug of the powerful, yet very thin shoulders.
"Fine. But he's got my attintion anyways." He sat down and looked pleasently at Erik. "You see, my Andlagur, it's not that he's with you that interests me. It that...well, he doesn't interest me. I would like to see this one you care so much about."
Soft explination. He really did seem slightly more nurturing then before. It must be the comfort of this particular surrounding.
"Do whatever you want to me then. Just leave him alone!"
"Do what ever I want to you? Andlagur, I can already do whatever I want to you without your permision. I'll need a better reason then that."
oneofmanysouls - September 22, 2004 12:26 AM (GMT)
But he's got my attintion anyways.
Erik felt his irritation and anger rising yet again. He really should sign up for anger management classes or something.
I would like to see this one you care so much about.
No. Erik just wanted Lucifer left alone. If anything happened to Lucifer Erik would blame himself. And he didn't want anything to happen to Lucifer at all.
I'll need a better reason then that.
Ok... Erik's upset by now. He's already pulled himself up into a kneeling position on the matress rather than cowering down like he was. His insides feel like complete jello. His mind is telling him to sit back down and keep his mouth shut. But of course he'd rather defend the only one that he actually gives a shit about.
"Why can't you just leave him alone? What the hell do I need to do to get you to just forget about him and not bother him?" Erik was once again looking up at Verkur's face. Fear and anger mixed in his eyes and words.
Massacist - September 22, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
Why can't you just leave him alone? What the hell do I need to do to get you to just forget about him and not bother him?
A soft chuckle spoke mauch about this conversation. It had the tones of, If you don't already know then your dumb as a rock. It also verged on saying this was just one big fun game with Erik as the victim.
"Erik," his name spoken, though softly and still in that way that makes one shudder. obviously, Erik's outburst wasn't angering him in the least...which was good for Erik. "Nothing. Absolutly nothing will make me leave anyone alone. I don't forget Erik. I never forget."
Too true. Seven thousand years and he still remembers the first to Summon him into this world. That man Rhita Gwar in the battle with Merlin. That was when He still was held in on a leash. Merlin had won and placed this blasted code on him.
"I will not hurt him, that I'll promise."
What exactly classified as hurt to a chaos demon? Kill?
oneofmanysouls - September 22, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
Erik
"Don't call me that." Fear.
Nothing. Absolutly nothing will make me leave anyone alone.
"Then why the hell did you say for me to give you a reason to leave him alone if you have no intensions of leaving him alone?" Anger.
I will not hurt him, that I'll promise.
"And I'm supposed to take your word for it? Uh... Right." Sarcasm.
Erik is still kneeling on the matress but working on standing up. He's staring Verkur right in the face. His insides feel like jello. His legs want nothing more than to give out under him. But that's not stopping him. Fear, anger, sarcasm...
Massacist - September 22, 2004 01:29 AM (GMT)
"Don't call me that."
I thought you didn't want me to call you Andlagur, Andlagur. You continued to tell me your name was Erik when you knew I'd given you a different name. Now that I call you as you wish, you don't want it. Your as bad as a bitch."
A bitch. A woman in this case. Verkur is still reading. Has he even stopped? He ignored the question pointedly. Erik should have known, in his oppinion, that this was a game.
"If you don't know. You don't need to know."
"And I'm supposed to take your word for it? Uh... Right."
A simple shrug of one shoulder. His eyes are still on the book, not even a glance at Erik, but somehow he knows Erik is on his knees.
"If you want."
What was that suposed to mean!? He didn't care if Erik believed him or not. Unless Lucifer was disobediant, then he wouldn't be harmed. That is, unless Verkur feels his life is too good, then chaos kicks in.
"Sit down Erik."
Flat words, he still hasn't looked up.

Erik shrugged his shoulders stiffly. "So I changed my mind. So sue me. I don't like how my name sounds when you say it." Well if that wasn't just blunt as hell.
Your as bad as a bitch.
Erik just glared and bit his tongue.
Sit down Erik.
Erik's mind screamed for him to just do as he's told. But instead he got the rest of the way to his feet.
"No."

Verkur stood, but he didn't move towards Erik. He towered, even though Erik stood on a matress and he on a hard floor. His clawed hands were not in fists, in fact, one of them still held the book.
"I will call you as I please, Erik."
The words were spit out like venom. Then Erik stood up. All of a sudden, as everything the demon did seemed to be..just all of a sudden, he was calm, pleassurably so even.
"Do you want to go for another flight, Andlagur?"
He cocked his head to the side, it was a conversational tone.
"I think I could use a breath of fresh air, how about you?"

Erik watches as Verkur stood up. He'd expected Verkur to come at him or something and was surprised when the demon didn't.
I will call you as I please, Erik.
Erik really wished he'd never told the demon his name in the first place. That was so dumb of him to do. He hated how horrible it sounded coming from Verkur.
Do you want to go for another flight, Andlagur?
Erik's eyes widened. He shook his head fiercy.
"N... no!" he stuttered out... and sat back down on the matress.
I think I could use a breath of fresh air, how about you?
He shook his head again. His hands had traveled down and gripped the edge of the matress tightly. So tightly that his knuckles began to turn white.
"N... no... p... please."

Erik sat back down but Verkur didn't. He remained standing, remained towering over Erik like some sort of hark, eyeing it's prey. He allowed his wings to unhook themselves and slowly spread.
"Are you sure Erik?"
He just wanted to taunt him to make sure the point was taken.
"I think Lucifer might miss you if you don't come back."
How ironic that he said this now of all times. Now that Lucifer's brother knew. Did Verkur know about that? No. Did he have any instincts about that? No. He'd just said it.

Erik had, once again, averted his gaze from Verkur's face. He tried to look anywhere but at Verkur.
Are you sure Erik?
He nodded his head quickly. "Y... yes. I... I'm sure," he stuttered out. The only thing that scared him more than Verkur himself was the thought of being up high again. He was that scared of heights that he'd rather just sit right here and be the good little obedient boy that he didn't want to be.
I think Lucifer might miss you if you don't come back.
Cheap shot! Very low blow. But still wouldn't get Erik to say 'sure let's go flying'.
"H... he k... knows I... I'll b... be b... back a... at s... some p... point," he stuttered out some more.
Of course Erik had no clue at all that Lucifer's brother knew. And even if he knew he'd have no clue how Lucifer's brother would react. He was after all, just Lucifer's brother... wasn't he?
