Brennan O'Keleigh's eyes were on alert again. This time, he wandered the halls of Jacobson's Used and Rare Books, ambling the halls with a slight hunch in his posture. The smell of text and ancient paper was fresh in his nostrils as he browsed the titles, looking for any particular reference book on the nasal workings of a werewolf, with no luck in achieving to find such a book. He released a slight growl, a rumble in his throat from sheer frustraition.

He turned the corner to another hallway, lined from shelf to shelf with more novels, books, and other works of literature. He sighed in complete despair, thinking with pessimestic on finding the book.

Naiya walked slowly behind him. SHe shooke her head with a smile. He was cute when he got fustrated but being a silly boy he was he was trying to hard. Tasking a diffrent way and meeting him at the she looked around,

"Found it" she said with a chirpy voice. Taking the book from the top of the shelf she flipped through the pages and stopped at the scneces page. Turning around she handed it to him. A twinkle in her eye.

Brennan turned about swiftly, narrowing his eyes suddenly, lifting an eyebrow, though she could not see it behind the layer of bangs. "I'll be taking that!" he said with mock anger, grabbing the book of out her hands.

"Werewolves not only can detect emotion and other scents not known to man, they can also 'smell' disease and certain medical conditions..." he mumbled, his eyes widening in complete shock as he absorbed the next few words. He dropped the book, backing away from it as if it were some kind of monster, then running out of the shop onto the pavement, his turquoise eyes still widened.

That's impossible... he thought. This can't be fucking happening

Niaya stared at him a he read, then as he ran away. Grabbing the book before it fell she put it back on the shelf.

"Brennan!" she yelled. Chasing after him she followed hm outside. "Brennan, whats wrong" she was slowly going into tears. Taking her ahnds and putting it on his cheeks she looks at him, her eyes filing with tears,

"Brennan! Look at Me! Whats wrong?"

"Read the book!" he didn't mean to sound so hostile, but he did, and Brennan couldn't change it. "See what it says!" he yelled into her face hoarsely, trying to look away from Naiya's tearful gaze.

She looked at him in amazement. Everymuscle in her body stood stiff. Her jaw dropped as she looked at him. Finally her stiff muscles loosened up. Storming inside the bookshope she goes back to hte book. Flipping through the pages as fast as she could until she found the one page that Brennnan had been reading. She slowly read every word in her head, each word being burned in her memory. She stopped reading and just stood there, holding the book in her hands. Her mouth was open and her breathing got deeper. Her heart raced faster and faster.

"i...i...." was all she could say. SHe closed the book and put it back. Her hands ran through her hair as she slowly fell to the ground. Sitting against the book shelf she sat there, a million thought ran through her head.

"brennan" she whispered.

Brennan ran inside after her. "Naiya... I-I'm so sorry... this is all of my fucking fault." he apologized sincerely, kneeling down to her eye level. "I shouldn't have been so careless and stupid."

She looked up at him, wrapping her arms aroud his neck. Her head gently laid on his shoulder. She let her sore eyes cry there heart out on his shoulder.

"brennan" she whispered to him between crying, "dont leave me"

She hugged him tighter, one hand on his neck and the other against the back of his head.

He slowly returned the embrace, unsure of what he could possibly do. "I'm so sorry," he whispered over and over again, knowing it most likely wouldn't make a difference. Brennan paused, pulling away for a moment. "I won't leave you," he vowed, fighting back tears. "I will never leave you, hear?" He gave her a brief kiss on the forehead.

"Neither of you." he added, trying to smile. For her.

She slowly smiled at his last remark. Her tears stained her cheecks with black mascara. Her eyes were red and puffy. She held him tighter, one hand rubbing his back the other resting on his neck. She whispered softly in his ear,

"thank you" she ended with a soft kiss on the cheek. Returning her head to his should, holding him tight to her body.

and I will never leave you she thought to herself.

"Well, I hear you women enjoy the cheesy." he smiled half-heartedly. "I dished out the best I got in a situation like this." Brennan laid his rough, large, worn hands on her shoulders. "But I am sorry, Naiya. This is all my fault..."

Naiya slowly pulled away from him. Smiling at his chessy comment. When she heard him say it was his fault she placed her hands on his cheecks. Chaking her head, looking deep into his eyes.

"Brennan" she paused "its my fault too, it takes two to tango. But no matter what we will get threw this."

She looked at him, giving him a small smile.
