Title: All hail liqour

Rummeh - September 19, 2004 09:47 PM (GMT)
Ah the comforts of booze and the familiar surroundings of murderers and cut throats. This was home. The surprisingly fragile looking young woman stubbed out a cigarette and lifted some sort of brownish concoction to her lip-gloss smeared lips. Ends of blonde and platinum were sticking out of her haphazardly done bun, ends falling into her eyes and some defying gravity.

An army green t-shirt, meant to be skin tight on someone but slightly baggy on her skinny frame, went along with ripped jeans and battered old sneakers. However like everyone else foolish enough to walk into this bar she was armed to the teeth, if not slightly drunk…and that wacky little half-grin showed it. Everything seemed to be going rather smoothly, no brawls had started and all was well.

Avian even started humming 99 bottles of beer on the wall.

(gah, short)

Erik wasn't much of a drinker so wasn't sure why he'd come to the place. A lot on his mind he guessed.

He strode confidently in through the door and over to the bar. "Gimme a beer," he says to the bartender. While he waits he turns around and leans against the bar to look around.

His 6'2" frame was sporting his usual black jeans, plain black t-shirt, black combat type boots and his long black trench coat. His shoulder length black hair falling where ever it wanted. His deep blue eyes scanning over everyone in the bar. He didn't see anyone he recognized. Of course he only knew 2 or 3 people anyway.

Avi scanned around the bar with those odd brown eyes, one lighter in coloration that the other, when she heard someone call out an order to the bartender. Beer was good- she was quite fond of Fosters- but at the moment she was drinking some weird German shit she couldn’t pronounce that was guaranteed to get you drunk. So far it was working.

“’Ey” Her voice sounded good natured, with a slight New York twinge to it. Otherwise it was an unremarkable feminine voice. Avi swirled around that unnamable drink and took another slow sip, savor it while it lasts… it was overly priced.

Erik turned his head in the direction he heard the females voice come from. His deep blue eyes fell upon a blonde haired female. His eyes took in her slightly baggy army green t-shirt and ripped jeans.

"'Ello," Erik replied back with his deep Russian accent. He tipped his mug up to his lips to take a swig of the beer he ordered.

Looking over to see whom she was addressing she quickly looked him and gave an approving tilt of her head, he was decent but he didn’t look like the usual type to hang out here…but in that respect she was being hypocritical, she didn’t fit the “Empty Glass Profile” either.

“What brings you ‘ere?”

Pushing away the now empty glass the bartender quickly replaced it with a tall glass of Fosters.

oneofmanysouls - September 19, 2004 10:31 PM (GMT)
He watched as she turned to look him over. He wasn't sure what the tilt of her head meant but it didn't really matter to him.

"Just wanted to have a beer and this place was the closest to where I was at," he replied lazily and took another swig of his beer.

( :aww: shortness)

(:tilt: It's alright, you got the point acrossed.)

She snickered lightly, almost inaudibly, that wasn’t the usual excuse people had for showing up in this hell hole but I guess when you need alcohol you need alcohol. However she had to admit she was a bit curious if he knew about the Pub’s reputation.

“That’s good enough for me.” Lie, horrible lie.

Wrapping her long fingers around the wet glass she took a drink of the glory that is Australia.

oneofmanysouls - September 19, 2004 10:46 PM (GMT)
"What about you? What brings you here?" he asked right back to her.

He took another swig of his beer as he watched her drink her own drink.

"Name's Erik," he said as an after thought. His russian accent unmissable.

Rummeh - September 19, 2004 11:10 PM (GMT)
What did bring her here? Her “slight” alcoholism that she would deny till her dying day? Probably.

“I came for the company,” an attempt at humor since the company at this hour consisted of scraggly old men who would kill you as soon as look at you.. or possibly fondle you before killing you.

“Name’s Avian, but you can call me Avi.” Or anything else you could possibly come up with.

(x_x sorry it took so long, Elfwood hypnotized me)

oneofmanysouls - September 19, 2004 11:14 PM (GMT)
He chuckled slightly at her answer as he looked around at the creepy looking old men in the place.

"Company. Right. In this place," he had lowered his voice a bit as he said that not wanting to piss anyone off. He wasn't wanting to die today.

"Pleasure meeting you Avi," he replied to her introduction.

"You come here often?" Curious.

('tis ok... I'm having a hard time not being there as well)

Rummeh - September 19, 2004 11:28 PM (GMT)
She smiled at his comment, and at the near whisper he chose to say it in. Smart. And polite thus far.

“Often enough to have my usual memorized.”

And now she was rambling, yay for rambling.

“I’m guessing you don’t come in here often, please correct me if I’m wrong.” Noisy little thing.

(gah, short)

oneofmanysouls - September 19, 2004 11:38 PM (GMT)
"This is my first time coming in here," he answered as he continued to let his gaze roam over the place. The more his eyes took in of the place the more he was starting to wish he'd not picked this one to walk into. It was starting to creep him out.

"So what made you pick this place to come into?" he asked absently.

Rummeh - September 19, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
She shrugged and trailed her finger around the top of the beer glass. What had made her come in here? There was the fact that no one usually bothered you, but then again it was most likely because of her profession.

“Let’s just say I’m not the ordinary type of girl.” Fairly obvious, but Erik could find his own meaning in that statement.

Oh yes, and there was that little detail with the fire…but she just brushed that off as her having drunk delusions. Yay for torturing unnish characters.

oneofmanysouls - September 20, 2004 05:20 AM (GMT)
Erik finished his beer and turned around to set the empty mug on the bar. He motioned to the bartender to give him another. Erik wasn't usually one to drink but tonight he kind of figured what the hell.

Let’s just say I’m not the ordinary type of girl.

That was a curious statement. One that of course caused his own curiousity to grow. He found himself wanting to allow himself to invade her mind to find out more about her. But for now he refrained himself from doing so.

"Really," he replied. It was a combination of a question and a comment at the same time.

He grabbed his refilled beer and turned back around so that his back was once more against the bar counter. He didn't feel comfortable having his back to the people in this bar. He was actually wishing that he'd have gone to a different one.

Rummeh - September 20, 2004 09:29 PM (GMT)
She ignored his comment, for now, and shook her head as she watched him in his discomfort.

“You know, the more you show you’re nervous the more likely it is someone will noticed. But if you’d like we could continue this conversation elsewhere?”

He was more interesting than Fosters any way.

(gah short)

oneofmanysouls - September 20, 2004 11:30 PM (GMT)
He quickly chugged back the rest of his beer as she spoke. Getting the hell out of there really did sound like a good idea.

"Yeah. That sounds good." He was all for getting out and staying out.

He turned and set his empty mug on the bar and turned to her waiting for her.

Rummeh - September 21, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
She threw a few bills on the counter, chugged down her beer in the same fashion, and spun off the bar stool seat. Standing she motioned to the door.

“Shall we?”

Yes, back out into that oh so interesting world. Joyous.
