Title: Satisfied
NutMeg - September 16, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
Scott resembled any other normal being as he strolled down the streets, one hand tucked deep within his pocket. His other hand reached up and casually wiped away some of the red liquid that had dripped down his chin as he fed. He was usually very neat when dealing with his thirst, but he seemed to just not care this night. This night, he had drained the mortal of all the blood he could, and had even let some of the precious liquid dribble down his chin like some helpless mortal baby messily slurping its strained carrots. He sighed softly, shoving his hand forcefully into his pocket, his head lifting up to look at the moon that had settled in the sky hours before. He stared at it for a few godd, long seconds before bringing his gaze back to the ground. The streets were empty tonight. He felt so alone.
For once, he actually wished that someone else had been roaming the streets with him. Someone he might actually be able to talk to. He hadnt held a good conversation with someone he didnt plan to drain later for a long time. He sighed softly, thinking back to the old times with his mortal family. He tried to tell himself he didnt need them, didnt miss them. Of course, he was lieing to himself. Of course he missed them, who wouldnt. He closed his eyes as he walked, the beginnings of a miserable headache starting to pulse in his head. Tonight would definately not be a good night for the young vampire.

(( Nope, dont mind at all. ^^ ))

(sweet!)
The 5'4" form that belonged to Enyo walked slowly through the streets. She was glad that they were so terribly empty. She still wasn't ready to be around people. They disgusted her. She's been spending way too much time at the slaughter house. She was growing used to the taste of the fresh cow blood.
Tonight she wore one of her long tight black dresses. Her waist length red hair flowing all around her. Her black shoes had no heels on them for a change. Her bright green eyes searching up and down the streets. Her soft pale skin almost shining with the moonlight.
She wasn't paying much attention at all to where she was going. She was just tired of being alone and secluded for now. It was time for her to venture around some more. She walked on...
NutMeg - September 16, 2004 05:43 PM (GMT)
He hadnt exactly planned to walk to the end of the street. He just stood there for a few seconds, his face set into a tight frown. He didnt know whether he wanted to go back to his apartment, or to just go on walking. After a few minutes of just standing there like an idiot, he decided he would walk on for the time being. He sighed heavily, watching his breath form a cloud in the cool night air, and then slowly dissapear as it rose higher and higher in the sky. He turned to th left and continued walking, keeping his gaze to the floor. He looked as if he were think. Either thinking, or just terribly alone.
He felt anothers presence. Curiously, his head picked up, and his deep gray eyes caught a movement. It was a lady, wih flowing red hair wearing a black dress. He stopped for a moment, just looking at her before continuing to walk. Most would say he walked quite slow, as if thinking about where his foot would go before each step he took. His shoulder were loose as he walked, and the bottom of his black full length trench coat waved with his movements.
oneofmanysouls - September 16, 2004 05:48 PM (GMT)
A soft sigh came from her as she strolled along down the empty street. She wore no coat since the cold didn't faze her already cold self. She would feel slightly warm to the touch only because she had fed on fresh, warm blood that the slaughter house workers had drained from the cows.
Normally if she'd been paying any attention she would have sensed the presence of the man that was also out walking. But she was lost in her own thoughts and such.
As she walked on not paying any attention to anything at all she bumped into the man. "Oh sorry," she said softly. Her brittish accent heavy and her voice soft and angelic like.
NutMeg - September 16, 2004 05:55 PM (GMT)
He hadnt been paying much attention to the woman either. True, he wanted some company and someone to talk to, but now that someone was available, he found himelf to be a little anti-social. When they bumped into each other, his hands were quickly removed out of his pocket and instictively flew to her shoulders to steady her. Once he realized what he did, he let his hands fall to his sides, his frown lightening, but not entirely dissapearing. He shook his head as she apoligized before speaking.
"Sorry. It was my fault." His soft scottish accent was evident as he spoke. He lifted his head to face her, gracefully tucking his hands back into the pockets of his worn out pants.
oneofmanysouls - September 16, 2004 06:02 PM (GMT)
She gave the man a faint smile as he removed his hands from her shoulders. "I wasn't watching where I was going," she replied back. "I'm no usually so distracted."
She finally looked up at the man she had bumped into. He was quite taller than her so she had to tilt her head back just a tad so she could see him. His long black hair looked like it was a bit curly. His gray eyes were interesting.
She reached out a hand in offering to shake the mans hand. "I'm Enyo." She introduced herself with her soft brittish angelic voice.
NutMeg - September 16, 2004 06:07 PM (GMT)
He hesitantly gave her a small smile in return, not wanting to seem ruder then he all ready did. He wasnt in such a bad mood as he usually was. He had found food easy enough. The only bad thing that had possibly happened to him tonight was the starting of his headache, and even that seemed to be going away a bit. He lifted one hand out of his pocket and scratched the back of his neck before reaching out and taking her hand. He shook it firmly, feeling the soft flesh of her palm before removing it again.
"Scott Gavin." He didnt know why he told her his last name. He guessed he was just used to it. Many people would call him either Scott, or just Gavin, and sometimes even both. As his mouth opened when he spoke, traces of red could be seen stained on his teeth from his large feast not to long ago. He looked at her curiously for a moment, there was something different about her. She didnt have the feeling of just any mortal on the streets about her.
oneofmanysouls - September 16, 2004 10:12 PM (GMT)
She looked at him curiously as he opened his mouth to say his name. She could see the red stains and raised an eyebrow. The feel of his hand wasn't that of the overly warm mortals that she had grown used to feeling when she used to lure them away.
Her eyes never left his face as she spoke to him. "Nice to meet you Scott. Too bad it wasn't without litterally bumping into each other eh?" She gave a slight soft laugh.
She studied him for a few moments more. "You're not a mortal," she said suddenly out of the blue. She then blushed slightly after she said that. Only slightly because she hadn't gorged herself when she fed so didn't have enough blood in her to make her whole face turn crimson.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 12:42 AM (GMT)
He chuckled huskily as she laughed, and returned his gaze to the floor. His gray eyes were shining brightly, reflecting the light coming from the moon and the very few streetlights around them. His smile was still resting on his lips, but quickly dissapeared as she spoke again. It wasnt even a question, more of a statement. She knew what he was, and there was no doubt about it. His brows narrowed curiously, and a deep frown was set upon his face.
"No. I am not." He paused. His words were hesitant. He didnt exactly know how she would react. She didnt seem like much of a mortal herself, but he wasnt about to go out and ask her. He was too concerned about what her reactions would be to him. He wasnt exactly an old vampire, quite a new one in fact, and had just gotten over his fears about draining the helpless mortals.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 05:56 AM (GMT)
She watched his smile be replaced with a frown. She continued to study his face as he confirmed her statement. She, herself, being a vampire for only 40 years was already fairly good at picking others out.
She noted how his words were hesitant as he spoke. She nodded finally after standing there in silence for a few moments. "Thought so," was all she said.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 11:06 AM (GMT)
He lifted his gaze to look at her again. He wondered if she was one of him. If so, she would be the only other one she had met, other then his creater. She didnt look as pale and starved as he did, so he figured if she was a vampire, at least she wasnt having the same problem that he did.
He thought carefully before choosing his words. If she was a mortal, then there might be some trouble involved for him. "And...What about you?" His gaze met hers, and he held it, curiousity showing in his eyes. His feet shuffled uncomfortably, and he dug his hands deeper into his pockets.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 03:25 PM (GMT)
She watched him studying her and when his gaze met hers she smiled. She stood there for a moment in silence. What she was doing was working on bringing her fangs down so that if she were to open her mouth they would be in view. It wasn't an easy task for her because she wasn't angry, irritated, bored or hungry.
She ran her tongue through her mouth and finally felt them down. She flashed him a toothy smile for a moment so that her long, sharp fangs could be seen. She closed her mouth again and her fangs quickly went back into hiding. "That was your answer," she replied.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 03:36 PM (GMT)
He watched intently as she opened her mouth. He had found someone like him. He only wished he had found her earlier, when he was practically dead on the streets, crawling down the sidewalks, searching for cover from the sun. He didnt dare tell her about his problems with feeding. He would be named a discrace to all vampires. He lowered his gaze down again, a sudden frown appearing on his lips as he thought about his past.
"Hmm." He didnt know what to say. He was confused. He reached up and scratched the back of his neck again. He turned his head and looked the down the deserted streets. He looked at her, and then back to the ground, feeling like he should say something, he just didnt know what.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 03:53 PM (GMT)
She watched as he scratched the back of his neck. She watched him curiously as he gazed all around him and then down to the ground. He looked confused and it made her even more curious. She's quite the nosey one in a manner of speaking.
"Walk with me," she finally said softly, "and tell me about yourself." A request that almost sounded like a command.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 06:51 PM (GMT)
His gaze suddenly snapped up and met hers as she spoke, apparantly somewhat startled. He quickly looked back to the ground and nodded. He slowly started walking in the direction she had been walking in, guessing that she was going somewhere, and he didnt want her to stray to far off her path. He didnt say or do mainly anything for a few good seconds, before he finally lifted his head to look at her, a puzzled look on his face.
He didnt know how to start, or what to say. He especially had to watch what he said when he started actually speaking, he didnt want her to find out about his little problem. He cleared his throat nonchalantly, hoping she would pick up on it and start talking.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 06:57 PM (GMT)
She fell into step beside him and without thinking about what she was doing looped her arm through the one that was closest to her. It was out of sheer habit that she did this. She'd done this simple little gesture for so long she never really paid much attention to when she did it anymore.
She hadn't really been going anywhere in particular when she had started out walking before bumping into him. She was just walking. She let her eyes travel about them as they walked. She was making sure that there was no one around so that they could speak freely without being overheard.
"How long have you been?" she finally asked and killed the silence that had fallen between them. She wasn't usually so very blunt like she was being tonight. But since it had been so long since she'd been around another vampire other than Morose, who she sired, she felt comfortable with her sudden bluntness.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 07:01 PM (GMT)
He was slightly surprised as she looped her arm through his, but sayed nothing. He looked to her as she spoke before turning his gaze to the floor. He almost blushed as she asked him how long he had been a vampire, it was obvious not even close to as long as she had been, and if was quite pathetic actually.
"A little over a week." His usual frown returned, and he wore it proudly, lifting his free arm up and casually running it through his dark hair, a habit he had had for a while now. He looked back down at her to see her reaction to his words, not quite knowing what to expect from her.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 07:10 PM (GMT)
A little over a week.
His answer startled her a bit. She hadn't expected for him to be that young. She had hoped to have found another that was as old as she. But, alas, that was obviously not the case.
She looked up at him and saw the frown upon his face. Her own face softened more and she smiled gently up at him. "Why the frown Scott?" she finally asked. Her voice even softer than it had been.
Then something else dawned on her. For one so 'young' why was he out alone? "Where is the one who sired you?" The curiousness in her voice.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 07:20 PM (GMT)
He looked down at her again as she smiled, his frown not going away. However, when she asked about his sire, he stopped walking for a second. Once he realized what he did, he kept walking. He was hoping she hadnt asked something like that. His arm reached up and scratched the back of his neck in nervousness, trying to plot out his words in his head. It didnt exactly work.
"I...He...Is gone." He finally managed to say. He looked down at her and offered a weak smile before looking away again, his frown instantly returning. His pace seemed to slowl as he talked and thought. He thought about the mortal he had just drained, and nearly gagged. He had just been talking, he hadnt met to suddenly lash out and kill the man. Honestly, he didnt. He had broken the promise to himself to not drink, no matter how bad the thirst got again. He would rather die then live a life killing others.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 07:35 PM (GMT)
She stopped walking when he did and resumed when he did. Her arm not once moving from where she had placed it. He seemed to be nervous and scratched the back of his neck again. This made her all the more curious.
"Gone? How so?" she asked. Man is she nosey or what? She continued to walk slowly beside him with her arm linked in his. Her waist length hair flowing all around as an occational breeze blew across them as they walked.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 07:41 PM (GMT)
He was starting to feel very uncomfortable. He didnt exactly like this subject, and that was speaking the obvious. His gaze didnt meet hers again, it was almost as if he was afraid of her, either that, or he was hiding something. And that was exactly what was happening. He was hiding something, something he did not want her to know about him. He cleared his throat before continuing again, his eyes showing his uneasiness.
"I, umm. I left him." He finally managed to say. He still didnt look at her, just kept his gaze on the floor, watching the the pebbles as he passed them, looking as if he were thinking intensely.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 07:51 PM (GMT)
She could feel his uneasiness before she saw it in his eyes when she looked up at him. Surprise shown in hers as she looked at him.
"You... left? Just like that?" The surprise was apparent in her voice. "Aren't you... worried... that he'll come looking for you?" A tad bit of fear in her voice as she asked that. She remembered the one and only time she had tried to run from her sire. She thought he was going to kill her. If it hadn't been against Vampire 'rules' he probably would have.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 07:57 PM (GMT)
He seemed to think for a few minutes. He didnt think his sire liked him much, yet he had shown great resentment when he left. His sire had chased him for quite some time before he had finally gotten away. True, his sire might come looking for him, but he wouldnt be upset if he did. He would give anything to have his sire's care at the moment. He turned and looked at her, instantly turning away again before he spoke.
"No. But I wish he would." His face pained momentarily as he let that slip. He hadnt meant to say that. His face soon relaxed and he turned to galnce at her, wondering if she had noticed anything.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 08:13 PM (GMT)
The momentary pained look that crossed his face didn't go unnoticed by her. And neither did his words. She stopped walking and kept her arm looped through his. She stepped around so that she was facing him and not really giving him much of a choice but to look at her. She was short so can easily slip into view of someone looking at the ground.
"If you wish he would then why did you run away?" Her brittish words thick with confusion... as was her face.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 08:24 PM (GMT)
He was quite surprised when she stopped walking, and momentarily stumbled. He quickly righted himself as he was forced to look at her. His gaze met hers and held for several seconds before he answered. His own tone was full of confusion, not to mention anger, and maybe even hurt. This was quite a touchy subject for him, and she was the only person he had ever even come close to talking about with. He ran a hand down his trouble face, squeezing the bridge of his nose before letting his hand drop to his side.
"Because I thought I could make it on my own. But I was wrong okay? Terribly wrong." He held her gaze as he spoke to her, his anger slowly but shortly building up, another thing he had a habit of. He usually lost his control fairly quickly, though it wasnt too hard to calm him down again. For the most part, he usually tried to calm himself down.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 08:36 PM (GMT)
The anger in his voice surprised her even more. She took a slight step back without realizing she had done so. Her arm still looped through his. She studied him for a few minutes in complete silence. The only sound that could be heard was her hair rustling as the breeze blew it around now and then. Otherwise there was nothing.
"But you obviously hated him enough to run away. What makes you think you can't make it on your own?" she asked. Her curiosity building more and more. "And how do you know you might not just find someone else to help you with whatever you need rather than going back to him?"
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
He again locked gazes with her, hurt showing in his eyes as she mentioned hating his sire. He definately did not hate his sire. Other then giving him his immortal life, his sire had never done anything even remotely wrong to him. He had treated Scott as his own child the two days he had been with him, before he ran away. He ran his hand down his face again, covering his eyes for quite a few seconds, not wanting to look at her.
"I...I dont hate him." He looked at her, a look of hurt on his face before he looked away again, not bothering to answer her second question. He just looked out at the streets, as if expecting some mortal to walk by and overhear their conversation. After a few seconds, he returned his gaze to her, anger and confusion still burning in his eyes.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 08:52 PM (GMT)
The more she talked to him the more confused she grew. She didn't understand. At all.
"I don't understand. If you don't hate him then why did you run away?"
Her thoughts momentarily shifted to her own sire and how badly she had wanted to get away from him and how deeply she hated him.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
He merely stared at her for a few seconds, senseing her deep confusion. No body would ever be able to understand him, it was a curse he had. His frown deepened, and he took barely took a breath before he started talking again. His voice was quite loud, full of emotion, his scottish accent standing out dramatically.
"Because I was scared all right? I was scared. Scared of what he was, of what I had become. Of what I had to do to survive from thence on." He stared at her crazily for a few seconds, for the first time noticing her arm was still linked with his. He frowned deeply, wishing they would just start walking again, not arguing about him, not arguing about anything.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 09:02 PM (GMT)
She softened a lot right there under his gaze. She stepped back forward towards him again as a slight smile came onto her face. She knew exactly what he was talking about now and she felt for him. Really she did.
"There is another way you know," she said softly and gently. Her eyes dancing with the moonlight. She wondered if he'd be interested in the least. She hadn't the stomach to kill mortals anymore. Hell she couldn't seem to get herself to bite anything living anymore. Not since... Nevermind.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 09:13 PM (GMT)
He was so confused. He lifted his gaze to look at her again, all the anger gone from his eyes and face. Just fear and slight embaressment were left. He looked at her curiously, as if not understanding his words, and truthfully, he didnt. His head tilted slightly to the side as she looked at her.
"What do you mean?" His voice had returned at least a little normal again. His arm dangled restlessly at his side, and his other arm remained looped through hers. Normally he would be cold this night, but not as a vampire. Maybe the cold was why no other people were out this night.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
She smiled as his anger went away. That was more like it. She turned so that she was once again at his side and walking along with her arm looped into his. Her smile had reached her eyes and knew that her words had confused him.
"I can't stomach sinking my fangs into anything living anymore," she began. She left out the part of why she could no longer stomach biting anything living. So I don't. But I don't go hungry either and am actually quite satisfied."
She turned her head to the side slightly and upwards so that she could look at him and see what his reaction would be. It was almost as if she were attempting to take him under her wing. She wasn't controling. Quite far from it actually. Just wanting to help was all.
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 09:22 PM (GMT)
He had returned his gaze back to the ground as they started walking again. He was starting to get a headache again, something that frequently happened after he had one of his fits of anger. He looked at her questioningly as she spoke, trying to imagine how you could possibly be satisfied without drinking from someone. It didnt seem possible to him.
"And how is that?" He asked, his brows creasing in curiousity. He was suddenly quite glad he had run into her tonight. Quite literally. Maybe she would be able to help him.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 09:26 PM (GMT)
Her smile widened. He was indeed interested it seemed and she was glad of that.
"Fresh blood drained from livestock at the slaughter house that is near where I reside," she answered.
(meh...poopiness)
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
His stomach churned as she spoke of her ways. Dead cows. Just the thought of that made him gag. It also wasnt the best idea, since he was quite the animal lover. Of course, she didnt need to know that. He scratched the back of his head nervously, letting his hand drop before quickly shoving it back into his pocket.
"Umm. Cows..uhh, I like cows..." That hadnt sounded as good as he thought it would, but still, he just didnt feel comfortable drinking from dead cows. He guessed there was no help for him then. He would just have to kill himself. That might work.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
He obviously didn't understand what she was talking about.
"The blood is drained from the livestock into barrels that is pushed off into a back room. You don't even see the animals."
NutMeg - September 17, 2004 09:45 PM (GMT)
It was still blood from cows. But, at least he wouldnt have to see the animal. he guessed he could give it a try. If he liked it, then maye he could stick with it, if he didnt, then he could just stop. He seemed to be thinking for quite a few seconds before turning to her again, nodding stiffly, the deep frown still remaining on his lips.
"Hmm. I guess I could uhh, give it a try." He gave her a weak smile before his frown returned. His pace had slowed again, but he didnt notice it, and just continued walking to his new pace.
oneofmanysouls - September 17, 2004 09:50 PM (GMT)
A slight laugh from her.
"It's better than slowly starving yourself. When I was first made I wouldn't feast on anything but small creatures. But then I got over that. But now... Oh nevermind."
A long silence as they walked slowly...
"I've already fed for tonight. Maybe we could meet up at the start of tomorrow night?"
