Title: Needing a drink
foreverchanging - September 14, 2004 08:24 PM (GMT)
Alia stepped in to the pub and looked around. Heading over to the bar, she picked a seat that was farthest away from most of the people in there. It wasn't too crowded for it was getting dark outside. She was going to enjoy tonight, for she actually had tomorrow off from work.
She is wearing blue jeans with holes in them and a tight grey tank top that had paint stains on it. She wasn't an idiot. She wasn't about to walk into this place looking like she was wealthy. That was asking for trouble. Calling to the bartender she asked for a beer.
A few seconds later, he slid the drink to her. She took a few sips, then set it back down on the counter. She may have wore clothes to make her look like any regular person, her posture would say otherwise. She sat very proper in the chair, no slouch present.

Lucifer could tell it was Alia; he needed not to look. He just knew. Could he have been stalking her? Possibly. Alright, yes he was. He'd been stalking her since the day after he'd told her about his problem. And yes, he was excellent at stalking people.
You could tell it was him. Just by the look he gave. Just by the way he stood, and the way he held his body. The certain, distinct feel you had around him. And indeed, it was him. He was standing on the other side of the room, watching Alia from a good distance. He wondered if she knew he'd been stalking her for all this time. Oh well; it didn't really matter to him. He didn't know why, but it seemed he had formed sort of an... obsession for this girl. As a friend, but still... an odd obsession. He was attracted to anyone that made him feel happy, and it just so happened that she was one of them. He didn't want to lose her to this stupid 'disease' of his.
He had both hands stuffed into his tight, leather pants, but tso that his thumbs were sticking out of the pockets. It was always comfortable like that for him.
His soft, celery green eyes surveyed the room. His eyes still appeared to be bloodshot, and didn't have a focus, but occasionally went to Alia, then to nothingness again.
His pale face was visible amoung the crowd, and his thin, short figure was leaning against a wall. He had a black button up shirt that he had buttoned up all the way, and which had red lacing and decoration at the bottem.
He shifted his weight. He wanted to make a note of his presence to Alia, but at the same time didn't. Yeah, it'd be a brilliant idea to go up and walk to her and say 'oh, I just came to say hi after stalking you for a while'.
So instead, he stayed in his spot in silence.
foreverchanging - September 15, 2004 11:52 AM (GMT)
Alia took another sip of her light beer and took another glance around the pub. She was looking to see if she knew anybody, whether any of them were from work or not. Taking one last look, she noticed a familiar shadow near a wall. It was Lucifer, the one person she was suppose to stay away from. He was leaning against a wall and looking at her. She suddenly felt tense, for she knew he had told her to stay away from him. She gripped her beer mug and stared at it. She tried to not look at him, but she was wondering what he was doing here. She brought her arm up and rested her elbow on the counter. She placed her hand through locks of her blonde hair and contiuned to not look at him. Did he get cured? She wasn't sure.
Arcane Blood - September 15, 2004 06:00 PM (GMT)
He stayed silent. He didn't know she saw him there, so he just stood there for a while, then swiftly stepped to the side, turning as he did so. He took another glance at Alia, then stopped. He didn't make an effort to get closer to her, but simply just continued to stare. Eventually, he'd have to exit the pub in case she saw him, but for now it was best just to stay hidden.
foreverchanging - September 15, 2004 08:11 PM (GMT)
Alia looked up again to see he had moved some. She quickly looked away again and at the bartender. She suddenly wasn't thirsty anymore. Leaving money on the counter, she stood up and walked towards the door. She changed direction suddenly in mid step and was now heading towards Lucifer. Did he want to talk? She had to find out if he had cured himself yet.
Arcane Blood - September 16, 2004 01:52 PM (GMT)
When Lucifer turned his head, he saw Alia was walking towards him. Right, directly, towards him. That was just peachy, and he couldn't get out of it, either. He would not dare speak, for he knew it would absolutely give himself away. He had a distinct German accent, so he knew it would be easy to pick him out of the crowd. He continued walking.
foreverchanging - September 16, 2004 02:57 PM (GMT)
Alia stopped right in front of Lucifer, to make him stop moving around. She had a million questions for him and didn't know where to start first.
"Are you cured? Is your illness gone?" She would start with a basic question, not wanting to ask more than needed.
Arcane Blood - September 16, 2004 05:31 PM (GMT)
He stopped as she stopped in front of him. He'd apparently (for obvious reasons) been found out. He stood there, not even daring to blink.
"No. I'm just... around." Yeah, great Lucifer, make no semblance of sense. Great way to start out a conversation.
foreverchanging - September 16, 2004 11:25 PM (GMT)
"Around?" She was confused now. She stared at Lucifer and his unblinking gaze that he gave her. She could smell a rat. He wasn't telling her everything.
"I thought you wanted me to stay away, yet here you are. Did we just happen to meet up in the same exact place in the whole city? Lucifer are you telling me the truth?" She hated people lying to her, especially people she trusted. It made her feel less about them. She stared at him with an unwavering questionable look.
Alia folder her arms in front of her chest, waiting for an answer.
Arcane Blood - September 17, 2004 01:14 AM (GMT)
Lucifer stared directly back at Alia, the stare a gloomy, distant one. And if he could have seen what he looked like, he would have scared himself.
"I did... but I..." he sighed. How was he going to explain this? He wanted to lie, but eyes told everything. If he did lie, she would be able to see it clearly through his eyes. "I didn't want you to." He hadn't said the whole truth yet, nor had he answered her other question. He wouldn't, either, unless he absolutely had to.
foreverchanging - September 18, 2004 01:19 AM (GMT)
Alia looked at Lucifer. He didn't look like his usual self. Her face quickly saddened for some unknown reason.
"You didn't want me to stay away? But, that's what you told me to do." She looked at him for some sort of an answer.
Arcane Blood - September 18, 2004 02:30 AM (GMT)
"I didn't want to hurt you, is all. I couldn't stand it if I hurt you." He explained softly. He could find the words, but didn't want to say them.
foreverchanging - September 20, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
"Well your not hurting me now are you?" She was near him and nothing was happening. She looked at him with seriousness in her face.
"Do you want to go outside and talk?"
Arcane Blood - September 20, 2004 10:48 PM (GMT)
He nodded to both her comment and the question, since the publicity was bugging him.
He made the first move to get out of the pub and away from everyone else. He did not speak, though. He would wait until she asked something.
foreverchanging - September 20, 2004 11:39 PM (GMT)
Alia followed Lucifer out the door and went a little ways down the street. She stopped and looked at Lucifer.
"So what were you doing in there anyways?" She was still curious to know, why he had just been standing there watching her. It had been kind of creepy, even if she did know him.
Arcane Blood - September 21, 2004 12:30 AM (GMT)
Now came the hard part. There was no possible way he could avoid or get out of that question. It was impossible.
"I've been watching you." Silence. Soft tone, almost a quiet, guilty whisper. He didn't care for anyone on the streets hearing either.
foreverchanging - September 21, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Alia shifted uneasily. "You've been watching me? Why?" The thought of somebody watching her and not knowing was a bit of an eerie feeling. She looked at Lucifer waiting for an answer to help her understand this awkward situation.
Arcane Blood - September 21, 2004 07:49 AM (GMT)
He watched her shift uneasily. He did the same thing. He felt like a guilty child being stared down and asked questions by his mother.
"Would 'I felt like it' be reason enough?" He hoped it would be. What else was he supposed to tell her? The truth? Naah, he'd wait 'till the last minute to tell that. Procrastination was another one of his faults.
foreverchanging - September 22, 2004 02:28 AM (GMT)
"No that is not really a reason." She said with a bit of anger in her voice. She quickly calmed back down though, because she hated being mad with people that she liked. It gave her an aweful feeling in her stomach. She closed her eyes for a second, then reopened them to see Lucifer again.
"Tell me the truth, Lucifer." She was dead serious now.
Arcane Blood - September 24, 2004 01:10 AM (GMT)
"I had a feeling you'd say that," he said with a frown. He couldn't quite weasle his way out of this one.
"I am telling you the truth." Oh so avoidant was he. He carelessly chewed at his bottem lip until it bled, and then spit out some of the blood on the sidewalk. It tasted of iron.
foreverchanging - September 24, 2004 03:59 AM (GMT)
Alia watched as he lied about that it was the truth. Him biting his lip was giving it away. She watched himself make his lip bleed and was somewhat saddened by what he was telling her.
"I'm deeply disappointed in you Lucifer. I don't know if I can trust you anymore." She said frowning. A tear started to form in her eye as she turned and walked away from Lucifer down the street, not even glancing back.
Arcane Blood - September 24, 2004 11:13 PM (GMT)
Damn it! Damn it all to hell!
He spit out some more blood on the pavement and winced at her words. Dissapointed? Hell with that. She didn't even know... anything. And, of course, that was exactly why she was dissapointed with him. Since when did life become so complicated?
He wanted to say something, but he couldn't manage any words. There was nothing to say, either.
He'd just decided to run after her instead of just standing there. "Wait!"
(My computer ate my last two replies, so sorry this one is so terrible. >_>)
foreverchanging - September 25, 2004 03:10 AM (GMT)
Alia heard Lucifer yell for her to stop. She forced herself to stop and turn to face him.
"What?" She hoped that he would tell her now, before she left, feeling like that he was a stranger to her now more than ever.
Arcane Blood - September 25, 2004 03:13 PM (GMT)
Well, here came the hard part... again. Well, at least he knew he had her attention... though it did practically nothing for him.
"I..." You what, Luc? What are you going to say that's going to stop her? There's nothing that will. You already screwed up... don't make it worse. Don't ruin her life because of your own damn mistakes!
"I'm sorry... I..." don't know what to say? Don't want you to hate me? "... don't go.... please..." He sounded almost like a child, and beneath his looks, he still was a helpless child. A helpless child that needed to think of something to say. And fast.
foreverchanging - September 25, 2004 04:01 PM (GMT)
Alia stared at Lucifer, you was somewhat acting childish. She figured he knew what to say inside, but was having trouble getting out through his mouth. What did come out though was not exactly what she wanted to hear. She wanted to just walk away from him, but decided to stay just a little longer to see if he would ever get it out.
"Sorry for what?" She said trying to get him to talk a little more. Her green eyes were fixed on his face with a look of serious that would send people at her work shivers. They hated it when she gave them 'the look'.
Arcane Blood - September 25, 2004 05:40 PM (GMT)
Damnit. Just like a child. He felt like a child, too. Should she even have to ask what he was sorry for? Should he even have to come out and say it? He didn't feel it was neccesary, but maybe she did.
Sorry for what?
That look. She was serious. He knew she was, and he hung his head a bit, just to get away from that... look of hers.
He swallowed hard. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean what I had implied in the bookstore... and..." And... nothing? His overly pale face showed no emotion whatsoever. "I didn't mean to lie, but it's... I don't think you'd understand..."
foreverchanging - October 1, 2004 06:04 PM (GMT)
Didn't think she would understand? She thought for a moment on that sentence. She wouldn't know if she would understand or not if he didn't tell her.
"Try me." She said very casually. Her arms were folded around her chest as she waited for a reply.
((Sorry it took so long for such a crappy post. :whimper: ))
Arcane Blood - October 1, 2004 06:35 PM (GMT)
(Don't worry about it. There's no need to apologize.)
Yes, he wasn't sure if she would understand, and he wasn't sure if he wanted to explain. And he didn't want to explain.
"What I meant in the bookstore.. I... Well, I didn't mean it." This was more or less very difficult to get out. He fidgited slightly. "I only wanted you away because I didn't want to hurt you... And... I don't want to push you away like that. I can't. I don't want to. Point is, I really don't want you to leave. It may seem selfish, because I know you care about being hurt. I don't want to hurt you... so I've been following you from a safe distance."
foreverchanging - October 2, 2004 12:35 AM (GMT)
He had been following her? How long had that been going on. It gave her an uneasy feeling, knowing that somebody had been 'stalking' her for who knows how long and she didn't even know it. It was a creepy thought. It could have been anybody besides Lucifer as well and should would of had no idea that it was going on. She had a look of somewhat panic on her face. Her emerald eyes seemed to show that she was somewhat scared at the knowledge that somebody had been following her without her even knowing of their presence.
"You've been following me? I don't think stalking your friends is a good way to get them to like you Lucifer." She said with a frown on her face. "If you didn't actually want me to stay away from you, you should have told me.
Arcane Blood - October 2, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
He saw the panic. He knew that was sure to frighten her. Of course, he was frightened, too, when his half brother told him he'd been stalking him, and he'd even been watching him in the privacy of his own home... in his shower.
He looked down. His hands were out of his pockets, so he decided to stuff them back in again. "I--- yeah. I know... But I wasn't sure. I couldn't have told you even if I wanted to. And you didn't seem to mind me stalking you..." He quited now.
