Title: Is that Remus or a book monster?
Ran - September 10, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
Tucked away inside of the mazes of book cases, Remus sat way in the corner that was filled with dust, books piled around his indian-style, sitting form. His head was bent and you couldn't see his face too well, but he had on slim, wire-framed glasses perched on his nose, green eyes furiously scanning the texts. Every once in awhile, a stray piece of sandy blonde hair obscured his view.
It seemed he had everything containing math. Currently, as you can see as a tanned hand skimmed past a binding and brought it over his lap, that he is studying geometriya, the jewish word value system. It seemed he really enjoyed it, well, for as many books as he had stacked.
Maybe, if you got a look of him, you may recognize him from the various media things he modeled for, but otherwise, he was an ordinary person buried within the books, looking at mostly math, the occasional water elem mage books tucked here and there wisely.

There was a man, just standing there now, a finger on the shelves, scanning. If he had walked up, he made very little noise. This man just seemed to suddenly be there, some how.
He wore a simple cream button-up shirt, faded-with-use black slacks, nicely worn leather shoes, and a pair of glasses clipped to his nose. There was a mark, across his nose, maroon, which seemed to mar the otherwise serious look he had.
Besides, why would someone like him get a tattoo, especially one as silly as that?
Clearing his throat, the man pretended to be subtle.
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:21 AM (GMT)
Subtle? He wasn't subtle to Remus. He jumped within his spot, the book jumbled and landed oddly on the ground and he snapped his head up, making his glasses move slightly askew. He had yet to take in the man's appearance much, just looking startled up at him. "I'm sorry, am I in your way?"
Still looking like a stunned bunny, he did notice the clothes and the mark. Oddly enough, it was like the oppposite of him. Remus with his unmarked face, this man with that maroon slash, again, the nineteen year old with jeans and a clingy t-shirt, and this man with his somewhat casual apparel.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:23 AM (GMT)
"Oh, no, not at all."
Pause.
"I'm sorry, do I know you? You look so familiar." A hand was pulled up to rub his chin in a thoughtful, 'where do I know you?' expression.
"I swear I've seen you before."
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:28 AM (GMT)
Slowly, Remus lifted his glasses above his head, slouching forward on the books, looking at him curiously, mainly on that maroon-colored spot. "You might have. I model time to time to pay for school."
Did this man know who he was and was just toying? Remus couldn't tell, but he wasn't annoyed since he had that discolored slash to occupy his attentions. Geez.. That really IS weird.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:32 AM (GMT)
In what would have been a self-conscious gesture on anyone else, the man ran a finger over the stripe. Said nothing, just slowly drew his finger across it.
"Model, hm?" he said after another short pause. "Like, billboards and stuff?"
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:35 AM (GMT)
That act snapped him back to which Remus chastised himself for staring. He was always taught better!
Frowning a little at his bad behavior, he nodded. "Yes, I've done a few commercials, magazine, run-ways, things around that nature." Remus hoped he didn't take any offense.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:38 AM (GMT)
Of course, there was no offense, but no way he was letting on.
"Really?" The god (as should be plain to see by now) reached behind his back and returned with a small pad of paper and a pen. "Autograph?"
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:44 AM (GMT)
He was a god? Remus had no idea and still has no idea. He may be getting moderately good with being a water elemental mage, but the old crazy lady never talked about gods so he had knowledge about Love, Death, and War- and that's about it.
"Uhm, Sure. Do you want something special on it?" He took the slip and held the pen poised above the paper.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:46 AM (GMT)
"Yeah." A grin, a very brief pause: "Could you make it out to Remus?"
If he had been human, he would have been giggling inside.
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:49 AM (GMT)
Now Remus got that joke. He thought it was rather cruel and pouted a little, his lower lip sticking out. He scribbled on 'To Remus, 'lo. From Remus.' just to humor him, mumbling a little how he thought that was a little cruel to say such a thing. After all, what did he do to him?
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:51 AM (GMT)
Nothing. The poor man just happened to be in his domain, so to speak, and Apoth was just a bit bored.
"Thank you," he said, in a polite manner. Glancing at the paper, he let a look of surprise cross his face. "Your name is Remus, too?"
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:54 AM (GMT)
Remus melted down against the books. That wasn't fair! He's STILL taunting! "Yes.." That came out as a miserable mumble. Well! Look on the bright side, least this man isn't a peanut.
"Remus Blackwood at your service."
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 01:57 AM (GMT)
Apoth frowned, or at least pretended to very well.
"Is something wrong?"
Ran - September 10, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
"You're teasing me." Again, he pouted, but it was well hidden by his arms and the books.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
The frown deepened.
"What gives you that idea?"
The hands went behind his back with the paper and pen, came back with nothing.
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:05 AM (GMT)
"Because you said to make it out to Remus. You're teasing me." He wrapped his arms around his knees, sulking like a little child. He -really- didn't like to be teased. He could deal with it, maybe this was one of his guilt trips?
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:07 AM (GMT)
Sadly, you can't guilt trip a god.
"My name is Remus. I'm not teasing you." The tone belied the words, as it sounded teasing.
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:12 AM (GMT)
"You ARE teasing me!" He threw himself down amongst the books, hidden by the wall of them, at least to any normal person. Again, he mumbled miserably against a random stack of books. "What on earth did I do to you?"
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:16 AM (GMT)
"Absolutely nothing. I don't see what there is to get so upset about." Now his tone was more of the scary nun tone.
"Now stand up and act your age."
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:20 AM (GMT)
Nuns were REALLY, REALLY scary.
Remus peeked up at him and curled against the books even more, mumbling. "When you stop acting scary, I'll stand up. Til now, I'll protect myself behind the books, thank-you."
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:26 AM (GMT)
"Fine then." Then he cheated a bit.
He let off an aura of kindness, niceities, and a faint smell of a medow flower. If that wasn't anti-scary, he didn't know what was.
"All better now?" More of a Bambi tone, now.
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:35 AM (GMT)
"Wah!" He wailed, a kind of wail that can only come from a kid that has been destroyed by disney. "BAMBI'S PARENTS WERE SHOT!"
He peeked up a little and puckered his bottom lip. "What's with you? You're sarcastic and mean, then nice the next moment."
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:37 AM (GMT)
"That's what you asked for."
Ask and ye shall receive.
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:39 AM (GMT)
"You don't make sense." Great conclusion. He watched him curiously, trying to flick down his glasses, but alas, the little pieces holding on the nose tangled in his hair and he had a battle with that.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:40 AM (GMT)
Apoth moved closer, freeing the glasses and handing them over.
"I make plenty of sense."
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:44 AM (GMT)
He just looked at him, astonished. "How'd you do that? It takes me either five minutes or me just ripping my hair out trying to get them off."
And to add. "No, You don't."
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:46 AM (GMT)
"Magic," he said simply.
"Yes I do."
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
"Magic." Remus chuckled to himself a little while. "It'd be nice if it worked that way." He looked up, looking at the mark again curiously. "No, you don't. If you did, I'd understand you a little, but I don't."
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 02:56 AM (GMT)
"Indeed," he said. "It would be so much easier."
Apoth grinned. "Maybe I'm just over your head."
Ran - September 10, 2004 02:58 AM (GMT)
Remus looked at him. "Maybe you are. Maybe I just can't see how someone so mean can say they're nice and make ssense all at the same time." He shrugged this off now and hid back between the stack of books.
Fifth Hat - September 10, 2004 03:00 AM (GMT)
Apoth shrugged as well. "Too bad."
While Remus was busy hiding, Apoth was busy suddenly vanishing.
He left an autography, though, which fluttered to the ground.
To Remus.
Love, Remus.
Ran - September 11, 2004 03:30 AM (GMT)
Later, Remus looked up and just found the paper, no guy.
"Hurumph, that was so nice. Coems here, is mean, then leaves. Well, interesting guy anyways." And then he just resumed looking at the books, but pondering about that odd guy.
