Jamal Kaine enters the book shop and once again revels in the familiar and welcoming scent of old pages and dusty tomes, of ancient volumes caked in must and the knowledge of many things that uninitiates often take for granted; Kaine loves the smell of books - it's one of his few quirks. Especially new paperbacks, but even old books have a certain charm to him.
Kaine has always been one to immerse himself completely in a book and come out of it only when he is through, and this time is no different; by midnight, he's read three different books on Dragons and is ready to purchase a fourth book concerning the theories of 'true' immortality - that which is gained without the renewal of youth, or with youth as a by - product of the immortality itself.
After paying for the book, Kaine stays for a short while to talk with the shop keeper - who happens to one of his contacts, although this is only the secondary reason he comes to the shop - and learns that there's a concert happening in a few hours at one of the local pubs; after awhile, Kaine bids farewell to the shop keeper and leaves the shop to head for the pub the shop keeper had mentioned...
