Description: it's fun for everyone.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap. Tap.

It was the sound of a cane hitting the side of a bench, something for the blind girl to do as she sat. And sit she did. For hours, just listenening to the sounds of people. Their conversations, their desntinations. It was one of her favorite hobbies, listenening to people. She did it often, but this time she had a different reason for waiting. A vision had came to her the night before. A very odd vision, one of which she hadn't experienced before. In the vision, she had been on the bench by the Waldenbooks, and she had met someone. Someone she couldn't identify at all. That had never happened before, being unable to tell who the person was. She couldn't even determine the gender... very strange indeed.

Tap. Tap tap. Tap tap tap. Tap.

Jaqueline was happy today. She was able to slip a special something in a young couple's drink...and later hear the results as she walked by the photo booth.

Yes, today's deed was accomplished. Whether or not it was a good deed was yet to be decided, but it was always fun to wait and see. So wait she did, next to some blind girl on a bench near the booth.

She was looking forward until a thought struck her. With that thought, her eyes shifted to their corners to look at the girl, and her mouth curved up in a smile.

Perhaps she could do two deeds today?

purple epidemic - August 2, 2004 10:33 PM (GMT)
Faith had felt no objection to the woman taking a seat beside her, deciding sge was female from the smell of rose perfume and the click click of heels.

"Hello Ma'am." Se said simply, turning her head in the direction of the woman. Most people felt more... comfertable when they are adressing someone facing them.

Renata - August 2, 2004 10:50 PM (GMT)
And the girl had a pleasant voice, to boot! It was going to be so much fun pairing her up with someone!

If possible, her mischeivous grin widened at that thought.

"Bonjour! And how are you today, miss?" She said, very cheerily.

Her day was going so well! The photo booth was rocking and she had another all lined up!

purple epidemic - August 2, 2004 11:01 PM (GMT)
"I'm very well, and yourself?" She asked, a small smile playing on her lips. This woman seemed kind enough, and seemed to be a great way to break her boredom. Brushing a bit of white hair from her face, she tapped her stick a few more times.

Renata - August 3, 2004 03:17 AM (GMT)
"I'm rather glad you asked. I am having a wonderful day today. Everything is going just as I had planned." She was startled by a somewhat loud shudder from the picture box.

"But you," she ignored the sounds, "Tell me about yourself."

So it might have been rather bold for a first meeting, but Jaqueline wasn't exactly a shy woman. After all, had she any right to be with the "fixing up" she had done for people? No, in her opinion, it was one of her jobs to be nosy.

purple epidemic - August 3, 2004 11:14 AM (GMT)
This wasn't a question that Faith heard often. Most were along the lines of 'You're blind? No way! So, you can't see this?' And proceed to wave a hand in front of her face. True, she couldn't see the flailing appendage in front of her, but she could always feel the wind from it.

"I'm 17, My name is Faith Evans, I graduated from Once School for the Blind. I do read brail, I can hear and feel better tahn most people, and I realise that my shoes are worse for wear." She said simply, blinking once or twice.

Renata - August 3, 2004 01:42 PM (GMT)
Well, that was all well and good, but would it assist Jaqueline on her way to finding someone for Faith? No, it most certainly would not.

"No, no, no, you silly girl!" She patted Faith's knee for good measure, "Tell me about yourself, how you live, what you like! I can't build a friendship based on information."

She never said it would be her friendship, did she?

purple epidemic - August 17, 2004 12:57 AM (GMT)
((first post of the being-home-ness! Whoo!))

Faith wasn't sure what to say at first, but soon collected her thoughts and decuded to answer the lady truthfuly. What would it hurt to amuse an obviously bored woman?

"I suppose that my main hobby would have to be listening to people. It's rather amusing, the daily babble you hear in halls. I also listen to many kinds of music, most of the classical genre but I do listen to a bit of creative Rock every now and then." With a little sigh she continued on.

"As for how I live my life, I'm sure it would seem rather dull compared to anyone elses. I wake up, bathe, eat, clothe myself, and go out and accomplish whatever needs be for the day. What I like... well, the smell of roses, the feel of silk, and the sound of water over rocks." She finished.

Renata - August 17, 2004 01:04 AM (GMT)
((whoot! Welcome back!))

Now that was something she could use. It was perfect! All that was left was to find the perfect man for the sweet girl.

"Take a walk with me, hmm?" She asked, or rather, demanded politely, "I would love to have an opportunity to know you better. Do you have an occupation?"

Jaqueline had now gotten up and was waiting for Faith to follow suit.

She didn't need to stick around for those two in the photo-booth. They were nearly done anyway.

purple epidemic - August 17, 2004 01:07 AM (GMT)
She did so, tapping her walking stick as she went.

"Out of curiosity... do you always pick random disabled people off of benches and befriend them?" She asked, a smile on her lips as to make sure that no hard feelings were intended.

Renata - August 17, 2004 01:14 AM (GMT)
Sense of humor, that's another thing the girl's potential lover must have. Jaqueline made another note in her head.

"No my dear," she was all smiles as she walked with the girl, "I simply wanted to talk to you. You're not disabled at all, you're getting along quite well on your own."

Jaqueline changed directions slightly, and was pleased to find that the young lady did as well.

"Are you hungry? Perhaps we should head for the food court, I'm rather famished."

purple epidemic - August 17, 2004 01:19 AM (GMT)
With a small nod, Faith followed the woman to the food court. She had a few questions about her character, such as why she really was so eager to talk to her, but she wasn't about to ask. Not that Faith was afraid to. No no no. Faith was a very bold young lady, fearing next to nothing. It was just the fact that it would be rude to ask so that made her bite her tongue.

They decided on Subway and ordered. Sitting down with theur food, Faith waited for the next wave of questions.

Renata - August 17, 2004 01:27 AM (GMT)
Jaqueline didn't speak. She took a bite of her turkey sandwich and chewed. Then, surprisingly, she partook in the act that sometimes follows chewing...swallowing.

purple epidemic - August 17, 2004 07:11 PM (GMT)
Faith took a bite of her sandwich, turkey and ham, swallowed, then directed her attention to Jaqueline.

"What would you like to talk about now?" She asked, checking the position of her walking stick before setting it down. She had tripped a few people with it before, and she tried to avoid such happenings.

Renata - August 17, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
"What I would like to talk about...there are many things I would love to speak with you about," like if you're taken, "and so much time in which we have to speak."

Interests, Jaqueline had to know about her interests to set her up with someone. She hadn't set up a relationship for love in a while, so this would be a change of pace for her.

"Do you like to read? Anything particular?"

purple epidemic - August 17, 2004 07:40 PM (GMT)
After taking another small bite and swallowing, Faith answered her question.

"I read what I can, but they don't make many novels for the blind."

Renata - August 18, 2004 03:13 AM (GMT)
"True, true. Then again, you could always get an audio cassette. Movies? You like movies, don't you?"

Then Jaqueline realized that Faith most likely hated foley artists.

purple epidemic - August 22, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
Faith nodded lightly.

"Yes. I enjoy listening to them, though it gets a bit confusing sometimes..." She said, taking another bite. Though she enjoyed talking to the woman, she probably would have to get going soon... a few more minutes wouldn't hurt, though.

Renata - August 22, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
The girl looked to be in a hurry. Well, that just would not seem to do. If she left, how was Jaqueline supposed to contact her and find Faith the love of her life?

Another bite was taken from the lovely sandwich.

But how to keep in contact with her?

purple epidemic - August 22, 2004 09:57 PM (GMT)
Faith took a final bite from her sandwich and grabbed her walking stick.

"I'm sorry but I must be leaving. It was very nice too meet you, miss. " She said, giving a thankful nod.

Renata - August 22, 2004 09:59 PM (GMT)
One the verge of sounding like a stalker:

"Is there anyway I can contact you, Faith, dear?"

purple epidemic - August 22, 2004 10:04 PM (GMT)
Long silence.

"Well... here's my number. 555-7808."

(bwah. XD like the number, tor?)

Renata - August 22, 2004 10:29 PM (GMT)
((hee hee, it works! :P ...damn writer's block!))

Alright! Wonderful, now all Jaqueline had to do was find the perfect man...for Faith.

"Alright, dear, have a nice day!"

And then Jaqueline went back to her food, seemingly forgetting all about the girl. however, on the inside, she was plotting her next move.
