Title: Harry Potter

So, this section is about books. I think I'll bring up one of the most popular books of the time, Harry Potter. Since this is a wide subject, I'll let others pick out stuff they want to talk about: books, the newst book (the awesome #6), the movies, etc. Personally, I love the books and love the movies (even though I find flaws in the movies versus the books). Also, the sixth book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, all I have to say is wow. I mean that in a good way. It's an awesome book that has left me craving for the seventh and in awe of the genius of J.K. Rowling. So have fun with this topic everyone.

Oh God, Harry Potter. You probably shouldn't have gotten us started but then again we're not chatting about anything else.

Bless the postman that should have my book in his truck right now and be here before too much longer. Remind me that you can get it delivered on the release date next time.

I'm not a big fan of the movies. For starters, books made into movies generally are nothing like what I pictured in my head. Then there is that fact that its just not possible to cram the entire book into the length we are willing to sit for a movie. And of course, it always seems like my favorite parts are the ones that don't make it in.

I've played one or two of the games for various platforms and they are not half bad. Actually, for a kids game, a few are dang hard.

I'm so glad that I don't have to be a closet Harry Potter reader and that no one stares anymore no matter what a person's age. Everyone in our world has either fallen in love with Potter or decided that the books are of the devil. Very very few people have no clue who or what Harry Potter is or isn't.

I fall into neither of those categories; I just dislike them on literary merit, or the lack thereof rather. :P

- HBP is an excellent, excellent book. One of the better ones, in my opinion. Goblet of Fire is still the best one, though. Can't wait for #7.

- the first two movies were pretty bad. Prisoner of Azkaban was quite good though. In some respects better than the book (especially the part near the end with the time traveling).

I would definitely fall into this category... I have never seen or read any of the books or movies, and I have no clue as to what they are about. I don't really have the desire to read them, because they look really weird. What is so great about Harry Potter?

I can't speak for everyone else, but to me Harry Potter is great b/c J.K. Rowling takes a lot of the experiences that a typical teenager goes through and magnifies them about ten times worse than normal by putting them in a novel. Add a whole bunch of danger and magic and you've got Harry Potter. I honestly encourage you to read one of the books(anyone; it doesn't really matter which one) and judge for yourself. Harry Potter, like so many things, holds different meanings for different people. I wasn't that interested in it myself until I bought book 3 on a whim. Now I'm hooked. You have to decide whether or not you're going to take something from it and if so, what. Just don't go see the movie then read a book. You'll be highly dissapointed.
