Title: Bagpipes
Description: and other... uncommon sorts of music

Yep. I listen to bagpipes. It was really strange though. I think I might have just randomly heard bagpipes over a set of speakers somewhere, and from that point I desired to posess a CD with bagpipe music on it. I mentioned it in passing a couple times to my dad, never DREAMING he'd actually remember.

I knew my parents were mailing me a package. So when I opened my mailbox to find the pretty pink parcel paper I was quite pleased. Went over to the post office, got my 'parcel' and opened it on the way to the elevator. Found a program disk I'd been needing and a disk marked "Special music for Drew" and "Played by 'The Ber' " (Ber is a nick name for my little sister, she plays the violin like me). I wondered for a few minutes how in the world my dad managed to become afluent enough with the computer to record my sister playing, so I popped the disk into my stereo to see what they had recorded.

I didn't hear the sweet vibration of violin strings though.

At first I heard some light woodwinds. And then I heard the beautiful drone of the bagpipes. I nearly screamed for joy. My dad actually remembered two or three random passing mentionings.

Suffice to say, I've played the disk three or four times today. It has now bumped my Pirates of the Caribbean Soundtrack into the slot of 'Second favorite music CD'.

Anyone else out there like listening to bagpipes or other uncommon musics?

I like taiko drumming - I got hooked on it at MSA, but I could never find any recordings until I got to college and experienced the wonder that is on-campus file sharing...
