Ok Chem I is easy. Anyone agree with me?? They only problem I am having is memorizing the elements of the Periodic Table. Some teachers give ways of memorizing them easier...mine didn't! :@ Any help from anyone would be appreciated!! :)

Man, that sucks! We don't have to memorize them, we always get to use our chem helper that has the periodic table, some basic equations, and all sorts of other useful (or maybe useless?) information.

Do you have a graphing calculator Shannon? If so, I can tell you where you could find a program to "help you memorize" them :P
Why does your teacher make you memorize them again?

yes i have a graphing calculator. i will have to warn you though im not very good at using it and making new programs. my teacher says that memorizing the elements will make chem so much easier for us in College. Plus it would help me to know most of the atomic masses of some of the well known elements to figure molecular mass and volume while in Campus Bowl Matches(but we cant have calculators during them :/ ) I know some people have learned the elements to some sort of well know song. others use a mnemonic system but i dont know either one i was hoping someone out there did. thanks for the reply!

Are you in Chem 1, and if so, are you taking AP Chem next year?
After a year and a half of chemistry, I've gotten so that I know alot of the elements just because I have used them so much. I know that oxygen weighs 16 and sodium weighs 23 for instance.
It may take time, but you'll get to know them.
Btw, the calc program would be one that is premade, not one that you make yourself ;)

gooooooooooooooooo FLASH CARDS! Elements are your friends. We had to make flash cards to memorize the elements (and for a grade) and weirdo cait put the atomic numbers and weights etc on her cards and now has bunches of em floatin around in her head. what can I say, I like chemistry but i know that tons of ppl don't. how are you ap people preparing for the ap exam?

Hopefully flash cards or Bo's poetry will work cause my Chem Prof told us today that we need to memorize the first 36 elements before the exam Thursday...looks like I'll have elements on my mind for the two days. *sigh*
