Wednesday 12th of august 2009 between 10:30 pm and 12:00 am

Ok…where to begin?

It was announced that the peak of a meteor shower would happen tonight , I can still recall the last one I was witness to years ago …around 94/97 , it was spectacular and literally lit up the night sky .

To be honest , tonight I wouldn’t have noticed , its pretty much been like any other night considering the number of meteorites / shooting stars .

Its been a busy night so between cooking and doing the laundry I’ve had a lot on my hands , so ok , around 10:30 pm , I take my dog out to the back court , it’s a clear enough night and I see a couple of shooting stars , I then notice the classic flying star like UFO flying north over my house , I also notice a series of flashes in the sky ..like they where moving in a line .

I cant hang around so I go back inside and finish up , but I decided to make a night of it , so by the time I get outside , its around 11:30 , I have my chair , so I sit down and observe the sky , within about 5 min , I see a star like UFO fly from west to east , its very dull and hardly noticeable but I can still make it out.

I wait , on occasion I see a shooting star , and it feels like I’ve been waiting for ages before anything else happens , on occasion I see a small flash in the sky , I’m figuring its just meteorites impacting in the upper atmosphere , then something odd happened …

I spot a bright flash in the sky , I automatically focus on the spot , then another , another , 5 all in only seconds apart and moving slightly …at first I think it’s a meteorite , but its too regular , then I think it’s a plane …but not only are the lights bright white , they stop after the 5 flashes …

I’m not sure what to make of this so I continue to wait , I have my camera with me so on occasion I take a shot at the sky , about 5 min later I notice another small flash in the sky and I focus on it , its moving and blinking …straining my eyes I follow the trail of the flashes and I can see a very dim almost unnoticeable flying star that’s occasionally flashing , I keep watching this until it fly’s out of sight .


Sadly I never caught anything on camera …


i must be the only person that can go out to see shooting stars and ends up seeing UFO's :unsure:
