Title: A Rough List Of My Sightings In Glasgow

JDRage - January 15, 2009 09:45 PM (GMT)
Hi , the vast majority of my sighting’s consist of what I can only describe as star-like UFO’s , that is to say to the casual eye , they resemble a star…only difference being is that these guy’s move .

Now believe me , I’ve been all over the list , planes , astronomical phenomena , hell...light reflecting off Venus , the works , whatever these things are , they aren’t on the list .

I’ve had a few closer encounters , been blinked at and buzzed a few times , but never once have I seen anything that you could describe as a “Craft” of some sort , all I see are lights , best description I could give is to call them orbs of light , at a guess I’d have to figure they’re pretty big , most commonly I’ll see them at a distance , but on the odd occasion they decide to get a bit more up close and personal .

Now…I’ve been seeing these things for the last 15 years at least , they had a pattern they would follow , on an annual cycle , they would start to show up during the summer months , the best time to see them would be between 9:30 pm and 11:30 pm …

Though with this being Scotland , its not always as easy as it sounds , due to the poor weather here , they generally stick up above cloud level , but it seems in the last 3 years or so , the sightings have become more frequent and they’ve even started to show up during the winter months , apparently during winter , they will show between 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm…now of course , this is just a rough estimate , but it seems to be the pattern they fit .

Below is a rough list of notes I’ve taken during some of the sightings .

Jan 1st 09 Hogmanay

During the new years festivity’s , I see two large orange orbs fly up into the clouds .

The most recent and unusual sighting I’ve had was on Hogmanay ( and no I wasn’t completely drunk J ) , just after the bells , as everybody is letting off fireworks …

I’ve seen many kinds of fireworks , I’ve even seen a couple of signal flares go off in my time , but I’ve never see anything like this , I was taking my dog out to the back yard , when I saw a brilliant orange glowing orb rise slowly up to the clouds and then up through the cloud cover , my mind is boggling at this when all of a sudden another one rises up from the silhouette of the trees and slowly rises up to the clouds just like the other one had …I cant be 100% percent sure , but it looked like it had started to speed up the closer it got to the cloud cover , not to mention that from where I’m seeing it , all the fireworks are being let off at ether side of where these orbs are , nothing is being let off directly in the area where they seem to be coming from .

I mean through all the UFO’s I’ve seen , I’ve never seen anything fly up from the ground and these , it was really odd , at a glance you could mistake them for fireworks , but like I say , I know fireworks and I’ve never seen anything like that , I know the cloud cover was overcast , but it was also pretty high up as you could still see the planes coming in to land at the airport .

Aug 19th 2007
...at 10:30 pm ( give or take 5 min ) it flew up from the south ahead of the
cloud cover , moving north and up till it flew out of sight and Aug
22nd...which i have to say was one of the more spectacular sights , at
around 10:30 pm ( and yes , this is when i see them on a regular basis here )
i saw around 9 or 10 dimly light orbs of light , i would say with a slight
orange tint, flying in a unstable V formation flying in a southerly
direction , i know it wasn't one large craft as on the right side of the V
formation some of the orbs where wobbling in and out of formation and about
an hour later i saw again the classic moving star , very high in the
northern sky flying out of sight .

What is getting to me is the fact that I'm seeing this UFO more frequently ,
not to mention the fact that I'm starting to see classic representations of
UFO's , like the V formation of lights and on ( the 26th of Aug 07 ) at midnight i
saw again the moving star , high in the sky over the building , it was faint
at first , but after a while you get used to picking out faint stars and
this was no exception , this faint star moved into a brighter star...i would
say the brighter star had a slightly reddish tint , to my surprise , this
star started to move , it was like the larger star absorbed the smaller one
and then flew off and up .

( Aug 31st 07 )...i had a late nap , so in turn i wake up a bit later than usual ,
its about 11 pm ... i do the usual routine of taking the dog out to the back
court , there's patches of clouds in the sky , but its still a bright night
, i start checking out the stars and lo and behold , there it is , then one
of the neighbours comes out with his dog in the back court next to ours ,
the star is moving quickly in a northerly direction , i follow it till it
moves out of sight , when all of a sudden i see it again move in the
opposite direction heading south ...i mean the thing is so obviously out of
place in the sky i was expecting the neighbour to spot it , but he never did
, for all i know it could have been two of the things , one heading up and
one head down , but it struck me how easy it was to miss these things if
your not actually looking for them ...or at the very least casually looking
at the sky

While taking the dog out for her evening constitutional , I look up and in the northern sky I see the distinctive “Moving Star” fly slowly in a south eastern direction , I cant tell if it was a little duller or it was the fact that the back court lighting is much lighter since all the new lights had been installed .

So lets say a period of around two or three months leading up to September 2007 was the last batch of sightings , say June , July , August …and ending in September .

Today’s date is the 13th of may 2008.

Sighting : small dull moving star in northern sky flying slowly south east .

Time of sighting : 11: 35 pm

2:35 am Sunday 20th july

Well…after what seems to have been a brake , it would seem that my little friend is back .

Looking directly above me , I saw the bright and swiftly moving star , moving from the west to the east , it would seem to be an almost downward curved trajectory , the lowest point being right above me , it was though it suddenly enters the atmosphere , hit’s a downward curve , then rises again to leave the atmosphere , all the while making dam sure I see it .

Very distinctly static bright and moving very fast across the sky , at that altitude …I simply don’t think its possible for an aircraft to move so fast .

Once again …this was outside of its usual 10:30pm time frame.

Sunday 27th of July , time frame between 11:40 pm and 12:10 am

Its been an unusual night for sightings ….

To start , I was looking up at the northern sky as usual , but it would seem that the UFO appeared behind me , I saw a very bright almost golden star move quickly upward heading south , though before leaving sight , it seemed to dim , almost is if it turned its light out …

About 5 min later I saw a small star quickly move in the usual direction , west to east …

I waited around and decided to go into the house and get my seat , about 5 min after coming back out , I saw a blink in the sky , keeping my eye’s on the same area I saw it again , the only way to describe it is to say it was like someone blinking a light in the sky , so I figure what the hell and grab my torch and start flashing my torch at it , a few moments later I saw a very strange light fly over me …

It was like a very dim red in colour and its path …it was like it was wobbly , wobbling left and right as it flew west to east , it really cant have been that far away , maybe a little higher than the pylon or maybe slightly lower , as it flew pas the pylon I lost sight of it …

A little later I saw again a moving star following the usual path …

I also saw two shooting stars , though I cant say if there is any connection to the flying stars …

Five sighting in one sitting …..but I really have no idea what it is that I’m seeing , are these really intelligent life ?

At around 2:40 am , while taking the dog out I saw again the moving star , heading north far in the northern sky …

What the hell is going on ?

So it is pretty much still light when you see them? The summer ones I mean. Do you have a pair of binoculars so you can get a better look?

JDRage - January 18, 2009 06:13 AM (GMT)
Yep , it’s quite hard to keep them tracked , but I have managed it once through binoculars , yes all I saw was an ball of light , static , very bright , only saw it for a couple of seconds though.

As soon as the weather brakes ( and it gets a little warmer ) I’ll be sitting out with a video camera and binoculars , though the very best look I’ve had at these things was the V formation , dim glowing orbs of orange light flying in formation , it was still pretty well lit in the sky , so I think I would have saw at least some kind of craft , but there was nothing there , that’s the one thing I don’t get about these things .

Alison - February 4, 2009 07:44 PM (GMT)
I was wondering if the v-formation might be birds? Their white stomachs can reflect light either from street lamps or from a setting sun and look orange. This might explain why no craft was visible. You are right about waiting until it is warmer though! If you see anything else in the meantime you know where to come. :)

JDRage - February 12, 2009 05:33 AM (GMT)
Oddly I’ve never seen that , I see plenty of birds flying in both flocks and formation ( benefits of living near a wooded area ? ) and they’re quite a common sight , everything from seagulls , magpies to starlings and robins , even the odd duck from time to time , its even quite common to see them flying around very late in the day around summer , yet I’ve never seen them reflect the light , I suppose it’s a possibility that they could , though I’d think it was rather dependant on the time of day , position of the birds in relation to my position …

Hehe…actually to be honest with you , I think it would be a rarer occurrence to see the light reflecting off of birds in this manner than it would be to actually see a UFO , one of those one in a million shots , but yes , I get your train of thought here , birds in unstable v-formations and me seeing orbs of light in an unstable v-formation *nods*

But no , I’m quite sure it wasn’t birds …though its very odd that you mention this ( completely didn’t occur to me ) for all I’m quite sure it wasn’t birds , they flew very much in a similar manner as birds would ( maybe a bit faster ) , as birds seem to navigate by using the earths magnetic field , I wonder if there’s some connection to what I saw and this ?

The weather’s still quite bad at the moment and the sky’s seem to be quiet for the time being , at least from the clear patches that I’ve seen , but things will probably get active again as winter comes to an end and the summer months come in .

Alison - March 14, 2009 11:14 PM (GMT)
Well only you know what you actually saw of course but that was my first thought! You would be in good company if they were birds though since Kenneth Arnold, the original "flying saucer" man is thought to have seen a flock of pelicans reflecting sunlight. Probably not too many pelicans in the Glasgow area though. :D
