Title: New Dumfries Sighting
LOTHIANLASS - February 21, 2008 06:09 PM (GMT)
HI GROUP, HERE IS A REPORT FROM ONE OF OUR MEMBERS ANNE WHO LIVES IN DUMFRIES.
On Sunday 17/2/08 at 9:15 pm approx. Sky clear with stars. Low freezing fog.
My friend and I noticed a bright orange light in the sky. I tried to take a photo but failed to capture it. Clem managed to get it in view and zoomed in by 10 to note that it looked light a bright light but he could not see anything of substance behind the light. The object appeared to be moving in a zig-zaggy way very slowly. It was about the size of a pea and perhaps a little bigger and seemed quite low in the sky. Whilst we tried to take photos the object started to disappear. It did not disappear over the horizon but its light diminished just in front of us as if it was going higher and higher in the sky. We then noticed a passenger liner come into view heading in the objects direction.
I have attached a photo which Clem managed to take and it seems to show light entrails although no object can be seen.
Anne

Hi Margaret and Harry
You need to upload the photo to a photo hosting website like Photobox, Photobucket or Tinypic and then copy the IMG url from there but if you email the photo to me then I can put the photo on for you.

Interesting photo. Shame there's no context, but the streaks would seem to argue against the zig zag light being camera shake. Any chance of getting the original image for its EXIF data?

Streaks? I took those to be a lamppost or something. Can Anne tell us what it is?

Hi Steve and Alison,
I thought the exact same as you Steve I was thinking camera shake initially but when I saw the streaks then I ruled out the possibility of that.
I'll email Anne from Harry's when I go through as I don't have her email address here.

Interesting sighting. Do we know know where the witness was located and which direction they were looking in?
