Well, if it's a hoax then hats off to the level of artistry and sophistication involved. First impressions are actually pretty favourable from the sheer number of photos from different angles.

I do have to say, though, that using the 'emboss' function (an artistic tool) to perform analysis is completely laughable.

Alien writing on the underside, too! Wow! This is too good. Looks like a concerted effort. It's designed to get our attention.

My take: this is a viral marketing campaign. Expect to see the game or movie sometime this year.

That would be such a bummer. It also seems to have stopped appearing in places.Nobody else has taken pics so far this month.

Yes, I have seen pictures of this elsewhere and my feeling is also that, unfortunately, it is one of those irritating viral advert campaigns.

Ha! This just got a whole lot messier.

So it was a marketing campaign for the Sarah Connor Chronicles. Only the CG guys are saying that they were 'inspired' by images found online.

Hmm, well that hasn't really cleared up anything! The timeline linked to from that page is quite interesting though.

Supposedly someone hired a private investigator to find the person who origannly posted the images?!

I still think that viral marketing is the likeliest solution, despite the producer's denial. The writers' strike explains the delay. Whether the images were already 'out there' and co-opted sounds like dodgy group legally, rather than created in-house from the get-go.

On looking at it , first thing that comes to mind is that it’s a model , looks too vibrant to be CGI though I could easily be wrong on that , the level of detail is stunning …

You can also see what’s supposed to be alien markings on it , if I was making this ?…I’d use one of those large extendible aluminium poles and suspend the model using fishing line, then by positioning the camera and model at certain angles , you’d get pictures pretty much like this.
