Title: Dumfries Ufo Report Update

UFOHARRY - March 30, 2007 09:46 AM (GMT)
HIYA GROUP, I WAS SENT THE ARTICLE BELOW BY ONE OF OUR MEMBERS ANNE WHO LIVES IN THE DUMFRIES AREA.

Hi Harry

Unfortunately I am unable to get a copy of last Fridays Standard. What I do have though, is a copy of this Wednesdays Standard, and there is an article in it regarding the UFO sighting mentioned in last weeks issue, it also mentions a new report of a sighting seen that same night. I have typed it out for you word for word.

The Dumfriesshire UFO mystery has taken a new twist.

A pensioner has described a bizarre object in the sky above Ecclefechan.

The sighting was just two hours after a woman from Tinwald saw a similar object, as the Standard reported on Friday.

Brian Stead was standing outside a pub in the village with pal Frank Tweates when a circular object shot across the sky.

"I was standing outside having a fag with Frank when this object appeared in the sky." said the 71 year-old.

"It went from left to right over the top of us but there was not a sound off it. It was going faster than a fighter jet and there flashing lights on it. It was two or three hundred feet up in the air and was shaped like an aircraft fuselage."

"We had only had a half pint each and went back into the pub and said 'we can't tell anyone about that because they won't believe us.'

"But it wasn't till I picked up the Standard on Friday and saw the account of the Tinwald lady and thought I must get in touch. I can't explain what it was but it was certainly very unusual."

The mother from Tinwald gave an almost identical account of the UFO sighting which happened on Thursday March 15. The woman who asked not to be named, said that it got within three metres of her car as she approached the village around 8:30pm.

The incident was reported to police in Dumfries who said the incident remains "unexplained". Chief Inspector Michael Collins told the Standard. "This incident was reported to us at Loreburn Street police station as being strange lights over the area. Every so often we do get reports of this kind and we do take them seriously. The police ourselves have not seen anything and we linked in with the RAF and air traffic control in relation to this incident and it remains unexplained. We can offer no explanation for what it was." He added: "But we do take these reports seriously and I would encourage anyone who has seen something similar to get in touch with us."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tinwald lies about 3 miles from Dumfries and Ecclefechan lies 17 1/2 miles from Dumfries in between Lockerbie and Annan.

March the 15th was my birthday and we had been in Moffat for a dinner. When we left at about 10pm I remember that it was a clear and starry night. But the above report brings to mind (I have probably related this to your before), about the time when my friend Ann and myself had went to collin and out into the countryside, the road winds up onto a small hill and you can get a good view. That night we had seen an orange sausage shaped craft hovering in the sky. But there were no flashing lights. That is the same night that a star shaped object was circled by a jet fighter, which proves that the military are well aware of what these objects may or may not be, at least they ARE aware of them.

Take care

Anne

p.s. there are no sketches of what has been seen...not yet anyway, but hopefully someone else may also come forward in the future.

THANKS FOR THAT ANNE
