Title: Pro Evo 3
Description: mmmmmmmm?

'Dave' - October 18, 2003 05:20 PM (GMT)
What does anyone else think of pro evo 3? I got it yesterday and was initially very unimpressed - the constant drops in framerate and the fact that it feels much harder now put me off - but I'm slowly starting to like it. So: mmmmm?

I agree: mmmmm.

Need another 50 hours to decide if I like it or not.

Just... another... football... game...

Ha ha! Chelsea haven't been updated and are poo again. But Gerrard still hasn't been given the stats he deserves. Harumph.

I can't be bothered updating it myself, I don't get paid. And the shooting is tremendously difficult now.

Having discovered that the framerate problems almost disappear when I put the crowd on 'neutral' as opposed to 'home & away' (God knows why) and turn the commentary frequency down, I've decided that pro evo 3's fairly lovely. Hurrah for those endless sources of wisdom, TV's famous 'the internet forums'!

Switching off the commentary is a good idea anyway. Every time I play it, Peter Brackley keeps telling me to get the cigars out. Clearly he's a SHADOWY AGENT of the SINISTER MEGA-GLOBAL CORPORATION BEHIND TOBACCO SALES. Or possibly the commentary's just rubbish.

Apart from that, I think it's super. Except I wish you could switch off the offside rule, because it

Gah! Stupid forums and their stupid "images via a different port number, so you can't tell what you're clicking on" hatefulness.

That should have said: "because it's cretinous and ungentlemanly, but everyone except me seems to think it's great, so what do I know."

It's just plain rubbish. IMO (phew! ;) )

I havent actually played it since the first day I got it apart from when 2 or more of my mates are around and we play multiplayer.

I am getting a little sick of the yearly pointless updates really. Dont think I will buy another unless it shows some significant differences.

Yeah, I tell myself that sometimes, but as soon as a new version of pro evo comes out I loose the ability to think rationally and start throwing money at konami. Hey, it's only £30 a year.

Pro Evo 3 is the only game I play these days. What a game.

It's not as good as Sensible Soccer.

You could buy Sensible Soccer and an Amiga to play it on for less than Pro Evo's price tag.

I spent a couple of hours on Boxing Day playing Pro Evo 3 against my mum. She disagrees with consoles on some kind of bizarre principle, but changed her mind when she saw there was a football game for it. I could never get her to play Sensi. She doesn't even like football. This probably only goes to show something, but I'm sure I don't know what.

I do find Pro Evo's plethora of unintuitive Special Kicks a bit depressing though. It was easier to make up daft teams in Sensi too.
