Title: Name Change?

i know many people have said that 'the art of self mutilation' is a little cheesy or whatever, but the name of that one NIN song is a little too much...
what do other people thing? rinsk has been suggest, and so has just using the letterls tAoSM...but i dont really have any other ideas...
anyone?

i guess...
but that NIN song was called like....the art of self "something"...and thats pretty bad..
not that i took it from there...but its bad...
oh well..i kind of think its too late to go changing my name anyway

You'd be treading in tricky territory with tAoSM. Too close to the religion known as "Taoism."
As for the NIN song "The Art of Self Destruction" {parts 1 and 2, both on 'Further Down the Spiral'} - Yes, the comparison could be there (ie - you do music with electronic sounds. the general public would swamp you in with NIN no matter how you sound. and with a title of a band like that, you might be considered to be 'riffing' off NIN.) My line of thinking is: If you find a comparison, other people will find the comparison. I'd vote for you to change it. rinsk, however, is an excellent choice. You get 1) an easy domain name [rinsk.com is available] 2) it lends well to artwork 3) It's not a mouthful (try shouting "YEAH! I LOVE THE ART OF SELF MUTILATION!" If your name doesn't sound good when you scream it at the top of your lungs, I wouldn't use it. :))
Only problem: rinsk sounds awfully close to 'rinse' and can be mistaken as such. :wub: :wub: :wub:
Those are my thoughts, anyhow.

yeah...ive gotten complements on rinsk before...i dont know..its kind of weird just by it self...

You must do what you feel is right for your music, if you think that your current name fits well then don't fuck with a good thing, if not then change it. I personally like the name. Just my opinion though.
