There seem's to be allot more of these HP tour programs. I have come across 5 alone advertising on the web and all offer something different and they tour particular parts of Britain. I have never been on one, I see little point personally when people can create their own tour by car! It saves cash and you can go at your own pace!. I have already been to a few locations, fortunately for me it’s only driving distance from some of the big locations. Have any of you been to any of the film locations?

There is even now on request a leaflet that people can order when back pacing or considering making their own tours. You can take a look here and it’s actually an interesting site if you want a better look at the locations and the leaflet available!

Some of the best places have to be the Cotswolds. That is a beautiful region of England aswell as being part of HP country! the scenery is some of the best in Britain. I have been there before, sweeping green fields and woods and rolling hills and some of the prettiest little villages and hamlets in Britain. One thing many people do on their way back is to stop by at Stratford-upon-Avon although not HP Country it’s famed for Shakespeare this is a beautiful town I have had the pleasure of visiting before and nearby Warwick. Again a lovely period style town and home to one of Englands most impressive fortresses… Warwick Castle.

The BBC has Web pages with useful information and photos on some of the Harry Potter sets, including Lacock, Oxford and Gloucestershire. See :-

Often families stay for a second week, in a manor house with a swimming pool, and or spa.

Unfortunately I haven't seen any of the HP locations. :( When I was in London back in June, I had a whole list of places I wanted to go, but since there were 8 of us and I was the only HP die-hard we had to compromise. (read: I dragged them all to PoA)

I would so love to go on one of those tours, or even to be able to drive around myself and see the locales. I'm used to driving on the right side though, and all those circles scare me! LOL

It would seem it’s becoming a larger attraction over here and bringing visitors world wide adding to the growing tourist industry.

If I bore you tell me to shut it! lololol!... :P

I actually haven’t been to that many of the locations!. I did see the Hoggy Express when she was safely in station!. When not in the films I think she still does pleasure tips along the North York Moors National Park and I think she has made the odd trip down to Gloustershire and that’s quite a journey! Gloucestershire is in the West country (The South West of England ) so that’s a quite a trip down from all the way up north!.
I have visited the Cotswolds which is a lovely region, it’s like the backbone of Gloustreshire and that’s worth a visit. Some of the locations are set in some of the nicest part’s of Britain, so it’s worth sightseeing in some of the areas nearby!.

I bet you though some of the bigger locations have been literally packed this summer season!. In Britain the summer season is ending now, so it’s quieting down but a few weeks ago it would have been a different matter!. Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds are also quite near some of England’s finest coastline. I have some relatives down there and I visit quite frequently. Just a short trip down the M5 and you drive out of HP country and you can be in Devon and Cornwall in an hour. Then it’s beautiful beaches , tons of watersports available, some nice fishing villages pretty yachting towns and a wealth of many other attractions!
