Forum Rules:1. Please don't double post. Instead edit your post.
2. If a thread is in the wrong forum, it will be moved and a reply will be made, by that staff member, telling you why.
3. When you post please don't use "Kewl talk." Please use standard English.
4. Please don't post bad words, curse words, or innapropriate material. Common curse words are censored and will be replaced with a more appropriate word or a *beep*.
5. Please refrain from using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS in your posts. As well as being bad 'netiquette' because it suggests you are shouting, it doesn't look very good in a thread.
6. All members will refrain from posting inflammatory or derogatory posts about fellow members. Making such a post, if deemed to be serious enough, will result in a suspension or even a ban.
7. If you have a website you would like to promote, then please refrain from making multiple posts to advertise it. A much better solution is to place the link in your signature, and as you keep posting, then your signature, and your link, will be seen by more people. Posts that are considered to be 'Spam' will be removed without notice.
8. Consider carefully before posting pictures and/or text from other websites because of the copyright laws involved. If you do post a picture or text from another site, include a link/credit to the source (this also goes for quoting passages of books, magazines new articles etc).
9. Multiple registrations are not tolerated, and if you've been banned or suspended, then using a new registration to skirt the ban will receive the same punishment - a ban. If you've lost your password, then go to the 'login' page and click the link to send a new one to you.
10. If you would like to change your username, you must have 150 quality posts and have been active at the boards for at least 30 days. If you meet those requirements, please PM a Headmaster. Then, you will be considered.
Sorting Rules: 1. Please don’t ask to be in a certain house, our sorting hat places you where you belong, remember its not our actions who make us who we are - its our choices.
2. You should post in ONLY the sorting thread, which a link can be found at the top of your page.
3. If you read the rules of sorting on the sorting thread and understand it and answer it the right way then you will be sorted right away, if not try reading over the rules again.
4. Do not ask to be changed houses, because nobody at Hogwarts never changes houses. If for some reason, a staff member seems a change is necessary (it almost never is), then you will be asked by a staff member.
Spamming Rules:1. Always try to avoid
Spamming at all costs. Spam is defined as
Stupid
Pointless
Annoying
Messages. Spam is considered a few words or a line or two when you post. Headmaster Kingsley Shacklebolt, Jeremy, does not consider "Thank You" spam. Thank You is using common courtesy. We are mostly trying to prevent pointless messages, not relating to the thread subject.
If you do spam, we will kindly ask you to stop.
Over-Spamming Policy:1. If we catch you spamming the first time, we will ask you to please stop and will add a little warning to your warning bar (Read later on...)
2. When we catch you the second time, a staff member will personally ask you to stop and you will get two warnings added to your warning bar.
3. When we catch you the third time, your name will be reported to a Headmaster and an action might be taken if deemed necessary. Actions include: board expulsion, post moderation, or suspension. Three notches will be added to your warning meter.
4. The fourth time will pass. One more notch will be added to your warning meter.
5. You will be set-up a wizarding court thread to discuss your Dementor's Kiss. This punishment can include: banning, account deletion, or the least harsh punishment: your post count might be dropped to zero, you will be removed from your house and not be sorted again, and ALL your posts will be moderated. Also, two more notches will be added to your warning meter.
Warnings1. Every member (Except Headmasters/Headmistresses) has a warning count bar (meter), where only headmasters can adjust if you brake a rule. WE can suspend your account or posting abilities or ban you for good after 10 warnings. But we can also take away warnings.
2. You will probably get a Owl (PM) from one of the staff member telling you what you have done wrong.
Avatars:Avatars are the pictures below your username. You can upload your avatar to the board using the
Control Panel and going into the Avatar section. Avatars cannot contain bad words, innapropriate materials, or cannot be larger than the alloted sizes below. All sizes below are measured in pixels. Sizes can be smaller. If you need your AV to be resized, PM a Staff Member.

Your signature height can not be enormous and your signature width cannot extend the normal post width. You will be able to tell if you extend the normal post width. All the threads the person posts in will she light green borders everywhere, not pretty either.
Staff Members will recognize signature problems and will send you a PM asking you to make the necessary changes. If this turns into a huge argument, all the staff will have a simple meeting with you.
