Title: HP...a WW2 paralel?
Description: Is Hp like WW2?

*~*This is an idea I had. It came about while reading WWP Ultimate Unofficial Guide to the Mysteries of Harry Potter. I have not read this idea I am about to share anywhere else*~*
In school we are learning about World War 2 and Adolf Hitler.
I realized, Voldie and Hitler, WW2 and the Wizard War seem to be similar.
Hitler killed his family then killed himself.
Voldie killed his family.
The Death Eaters could be the same as the Nazis, Gestapo, and everything else.
THey both have/had Death Squads.
'Mudbloods'=Jews
Muggles=Other countries
People fighting like the Order=the Allies
Dementers= Japanese
Other Witches and Wizards= Germans and other citizens
Hitler wanted a 'Pure Race' but wasn't pure himself and Voldie wants a race of pure-bloods but HE ISN'T A PUREBLOOD!
JKR said in Book 1 that Dumbledore was famous for the defeat of a wizard and the year was 194-something. I can't remember it but it was from WW2. I think JKR is pulling things into HP that happened in WW2.
Any thoughts?

that is really intresting...i had never saw it like that, but your right a lot of the smilarties are there.... humm i wonder if it is...

I've looked into that theory and yes it is very true. As a matter of fact I think JKR herself has compared it to WW2. At least in Voldemort and Hitlers agenda that is. Like the way that Voldemort works behind the scenes and has men everywhere. That was why it was so important for the Ministry to recognize his return. I think at some point Voldemort may get some kind of control on the Wizard Media. It would make it so much easier to hide the deaths and other various activities of the death eaters and such.
(By the way that is an awesome book!)

You have got a good point there Tanya.
As i have learned about the subject for the last 2 years it all fits well. I think your onto something there hun hmmm, it was a very troubled time as it is now with Voldie, i hate to learn about the subject, wheni read Anne Frank it really got to me. Who wants to learn about a subject when so many innocent died? just like the wizarding world.

The sad thing is, in war there is no real innocents, because everyone has an agenda. As in the wizarding war, so does Dumbledore. And as much as I hate to say it, he's just as manipulative as Voldemort, except in different ways. During WW2, even Roosevelt had his own agenda (otherwise we would have been ready for Pearl Harbor.) There are things that our leaders have let happen to get the support of the people, and I don't believe the anyone should manipulate the innocent for their own cause.

Hm..that's neat. :D WW2 and Harry Potter are on the same basis of ideas, I guess.

Yes, but I would rather learn about Harry Potter during school... :)

I can't believe that I have studied about WW2 and not see the similarity between Harry Potter and WW2. It is so amazing that this has so much in common. Who would have ever thought up of so many similarities. Wow, your smart. ^_^

I think that WW2 probably inspired a lot in the world of books and poetry. Moments that are sad and powerful tend to do that quite a bit.

Very good point Elizabeth. Most epic battles and or situations in book are in fact inspired by real life events. And if you going to portray a most horrific event, then WWII was probably the best choice. There was so much senseless acts of violence, but also one of great heroics. Just like all our favorite stories.

Tanya, that is a way I would not have seen similarities to until now. A very interesting theory, the similarities are uncannily a like!.
