Now, I know this should probobly be in the Future Movies section, but it is really important news too, and more people will see it here.

Some of you may have heard this already, but if you havent; The movie for GoF is set to be two and a half hours long. As we all know the book is well over seven hundred pages and cannot be justified in this short amount of time.

What I am asking you to do is sign this petition and help all of the HP fans out there save the movie!

Thank you for your time.

Are you serious? 2 and a half hours long. If it's that short, I'm going to boycot the WB. Won't it be awful if the Trio cast is gone and the movie is short?

Aw man...

I know!
Argh, i heard of it last month, an di signed it 3 times. How horrific is it? 2 and a half hours long! thats nothing! think of how much they will have to cut out. Knowing the writigthers they will have like like 1 task and Cedric will probably not die. Eh curse that...that is really sad.

Okay, my small piece of mind to put here. When OotP came out I got a book review paper from Books a Million. It said that J.K.R. and the director were working on the screenplay for GoF and it would probably end up as two movies. I know thats not official but we can only hope. Hanna

Yes, but then agian, whats stopping them from making all the movies 2 movies? and its hard to just stop one and start. as much i would so love that to happen, and i so would, theres just something inside me saying its not going to happen. But hopefully Hanna your idea proves me wrong.

It is a great pity about the length of the film, it really is a shame. Thanks for the link EC I'll sign up

Wow Jeremy, no movie in history has been 6 hours long, i mean thats whay they have part 1 and 2. The longest film was Titanic and that was 3 hopurs, film makers dont expect people to sit through a 6 hour long fiml, you would get deep vain thrombosas (i dunno how to spell it) but i too wish the same as you Jeremy, oh how wonderful it would be ^_^

Any progress been made or recent developments?

I heard that it's official that it won't be made into 2 seperate movies. Thinking of how the first three were dishonored and knowing the next one will be also saddens me greatly. I read somewhere (sorry, it was a while ago & I forgot where) that the Yule Ball scene will be butchered and many of the sub plots will be cut out almost entirely. The Hagrid-Maxime story will be mentioned, but hardly shown to its full extent. I know I read more, but I can't remember anymore. I should try and track down the site I saw that at.

No,
I can back you up with that, i read it too somewhere. This film is going to be a a bloody bath with butchered scenes...its quite saddening. The fourth book is such a eye-opener and such an important book. Its quite depressing really.

I guess you all know by now that Percy won't be in the movie. I wonder who will replace Crouch as judge then? Why they would pick this movie to take Percy out of, when he figures so prominently in the book, is beyond me.

deliriousfordraco - September 25, 2004 09:29 AM (GMT)
Even though it's going to be completely butchered, it's said to have the largest budget ever in film. The special effects should be quite extraordinary.

Chris Rankin, aka Percy, has only signed contracts for the first 3 movies plus 1. Apparently it is felt that his presence would be more useful in a later movie. Without him, or any of the other important chracters, it's going to be ridiculous. It just means that the writers/producers of GoF will change the story more... *sigh*

**grrr**
This seriously is DEPRESSING...I swear if i was director i would do the book justice...come on make me director!

Im holding out for the special effects so badly, its one of the most important bits i have to look out for (execpt for H/Hr moments) since thats what i want to do for my future carrer.
