Title: Some Unpleasent News

Boingo the Clown - December 26, 2007 06:52 PM (GMT)
At around 11:00 this morning (December 26) somebody got stabbed on the corner less than 100 feet away from my door. The road is now blocked off by police tape, and investigators are crawling around doing their thing.

The oddest thing it that I heard and saw nothing. It wasn't until a reporter came knocking on my door a couple hours ago that I found out anything had happened. That's what bothers me.

atariangamer - December 26, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
wow, thats kinda weird. were you asleep or awake? I seem to be staying up later now, so it wouldn't surprise me if you were. Stabbed...and at first glance, I thought you had been stabbed!

Holy crap.

Quarkz - December 26, 2007 08:16 PM (GMT)
man, i thought canadians were peaceful....

Lucius Octavion - December 26, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
Wow man, that's messed up. A few similar things happed to me. Actually three things happened to me similar to what you said.

Once, a man got shot by a burglar on the corner of the street where my house is.

Another time there was some kind of big fight in my neighbor's house across the street. All these cops came and it was just ridiculous. I remember doing my homework and seeing all these cars and police and guys screaming stuff like "GET OUTA MY HOUSE!" and "GET AWAY FROM ME!" And guys puttin their hands up.

Another time they had to evacuate my entire street because the police were investigating my neighbor's (who had died) house and found grenades, land mines, real panzerfausts, mortars, and a whole collection of guns.

 Where does that happen? Man, that makes my town seem peaceful. Even though through the past year, 9 Charleston Firefighters died in a Sofa Super Store, and made the biggest local news in years, and 2 police officers got shot and killed trying to stop some backwoods domestic violence. I knew one of them personaly, having had lots of trouble in Middle school, he counseled me a lot, and really helped. Dang, I miss him...

I'd move if all of that stuff was happening around me (but it wount happen because my Grandma is the only person within a mile of my house :D

I thought you are child friendly pika.

Allen Walker - December 27, 2007 07:34 PM (GMT)
Man...this makes me want to investigate! :ph43r: I'm glad that your ok. If it helps, most people around a crime notice anything worth filing in a report. Barely ANY leads come from these people.

QFT. But man, thats gotta be a shock. In my mom's neighborhood, we were harvesting tomatos and such from a small garden, when we heard many pops. The police were soon swarming the whole neighborhood and were telling us to get inside. They later gathered at a house only one street off from ours.

atariangamer - December 27, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
So much trouble in the world today. Now...aw, great...its pretty cloudy outside, so I turn on the light and it flashes, pops, and dies. Well, at least one light is on...

Mike Quinn, eh?

atariangamer - December 28, 2007 05:06 AM (GMT)
 Mike...And all you heard was your watch going off? What a quote...one for the records.

Allen Walker - December 29, 2007 02:47 AM (GMT)
I'm double sided with this...my happy side says, "its cool that you are on a news article" and my sad side says "I hope he lives". :) :(

Boingo the Clown - December 29, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
I think the fact my (incorrect) name was in the newspaper is not the important thing here.

atariangamer - December 29, 2007 03:56 AM (GMT)
Oops, in the laughing at the quote, I forgot what I had just read. I do hope he lives, cause thats not what you want to happen so close to christmas.

Kuwabara - December 29, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
"Mike" eh? But man, judging from those pictures, it looks like it has been snowing like heck up there. The blood most likely froze pretty fast.

Boingo the Clown - December 30, 2007 01:14 AM (GMT)
The temperature went up for unknown reasons after Christmas, and it rain heavily yesterday. There was no sign of anything having happened when I went out today.

Kuwabara - December 30, 2007 02:45 AM (GMT)
Good clean-up crews I guess. It's really too bad for the family of the victim for him to die at this time of the year. (Or any time for that matter)

Boingo the Clown - December 30, 2007 03:10 AM (GMT)
Well, you don't have to worry about him dying. It looks like he is recovering.

whew, thats a relief! ^_^

Boingo the Clown - December 30, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
I just got word from a neighbour. I do not know if this is true or not. It may be hearsay.

Apparently the stabbing was drug related. After a drug deal went bad, the victim and his friend severely beat the dealer. On Wednesday morning, the dealer recognized one of the guys who beat him up and went out to say "Hi", if you know what I mean.

Quarkz - December 30, 2007 11:28 PM (GMT)
sounds like you live in a crappy neighborhood

Kuwabara - December 31, 2007 01:30 AM (GMT)
Forgive my streotypes, but that sounds more like Seattle then Kingston.

I DO live in a crappy neighbourhood. This is not the first time a violent drug related crime has happened close to my house either.

Two years ago, some low life was running a drug operation a few doors from my place. Once again, a drug deal went bad, and the dealer was killed by his would be customer.

In retrospect, it was a good thing, because a really nice couple moved in in his place.

Lucius Octavion - December 31, 2007 09:02 AM (GMT)
Oh not to get off the topic but another crazy thing just happened in my neighborhood. There's a club that just moved in downtown. There was a huge fight in there and they needed cops from seven neighboring towns to stop the fight. Nutty, eh?

My previous post was talking about the guy with the nades and stuff, the fight across the street, and the guy who got shot... what next?!!!

Boingo the Clown - January 4, 2008 12:09 PM (GMT)
Here's an update. It appears to at least partially confirm what I was told.

I used to live near some people who were always getting drunk and getting wild. The police had to come by occasionally. I think my parents even called on them a time or two. It sounded like madness.
