:flemoid Hey!!! Thanks for visiting. Feel free to rant on my mod.

slimeinator - December 13, 2007 04:25 AM (GMT)
OK, so am I the ONLY one on the entire CQuest fan forums who thinks that the Super Zorcher sprites are unconvincing!?
Fear not!
I'm working on a more Zorcher-like set of sprites for it.
:flemoid = doomed.
atariangamer - December 13, 2007 01:19 PM (GMT)
Well, I do think the super zorcher sprites don't look chex quest-y, but I can't load your site due to a block wall. But, hey, welcome to the forums!
Manny Cav - December 13, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
It's kind of hard to play your WAD in Doom Legacy, given that you have given it the same file name as TUCQ's WAD's name (CQUESTP2B3.WAD). I can't really play it without going through more inconvenience than should be necessary to play your WAD.
Replica - December 14, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
I see you took my advice! Welcome. (If i did miss a topic)
Its to hard. Try making it easyer.
slimeinator - December 14, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
@Manny: You can just rename it.
@Replica: In release two (coming soon!) it is far easier in easy mode, and to some extent, medium difficulties.

I know, but it's kind of inconvenient and silly to expect people to rename it whenever they want to play it. I would recommend for you to rename it on your next release of the mod.
Replica - December 14, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
I've found a secret that was very long. But led to a dead end.
pikazec2012 - December 14, 2007 10:44 PM (GMT)
i'll try it in a few days im grounded right now and i only have 15 more mintes on the internet
slimeinator - December 15, 2007 05:14 AM (GMT)
Dearest Replica,
There seems to have been a misunderstanding. The watery hall of which you refer to actually leads to the end of the level. You use the space key to make the wall go back down, and there you are from whence you came!!!!
Manny,
It will be renamed in the next release, I assure you.
Now I'm due for my daily dosage of programming endless armies of flemoids. Tah!
:flemoid :flemoid :flemoid
slimeinator - December 17, 2007 06:29 AM (GMT)
The second release is OUT!!! YAY!!!! Now go and get yourselves slimed!

Please dont post twice in a row. use the edit botten ;) .
Alright i'll download it soon.
slimeinator - December 19, 2007 06:29 AM (GMT)
I'm uploading a bug-fix version of the mod for a couple reasons:
1. I'm sick and tired of the old Inferno music, so I replaced it.
2. A couple of major bugs have come to my attention, so I fixed them, along with some texturing and door track visual things.
3. I ELIMINATED IDDQD!!!! (sorta) Instead, you can no longer use weapons and the flemoids just sit there, don't move, and don't attack you.
4. I messed with the cheat codes!!! (I despise cheats unless I use them for playtesting) They are now different code words.

You know, some people like to use cheat codes after beating the game legitimately or for other more honorable purpose that a quick pass through the game. And I don't know what you're talking about on point 3. What is this about Flemoids not moving and not attacking?
slimeinator - December 19, 2007 03:15 PM (GMT)
By changing the health set by IDDQD to 0, the game thinks you are dead, but however, you can still move throughout the level. Therefore, the Flemoids do not see you, and you cannot use your weapons. You also cannot pick up items.
atariangamer - December 19, 2007 05:51 PM (GMT)
Really? A doom 2 level I found was just a bit hard to beat (a rapid fire imp in a marine suit really hurts) so I typed 'iddqd' and my weapon dropped, my health dropped, the enemies wouldn't move, the doors wouldn't open, and no other cheat would work. But, the game crashed when I tried to respawn. Good job on that though. but like manny said, some people use it after they beat the game to explore more. maybe you could put in a room with the walls being the cheat codes (a sign on the wall).

Ah, now I know what you're talking about. This exact thing can happen when a level has a voodoo doll (such as E1M5 of Chex Quest 3).
Replica - December 19, 2007 10:31 PM (GMT)
I found the voodoo doll kinda dumb. (I killed myself by it  )
Manny Cav - December 23, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
I just played through your two levels on your latest version, 2.5. I noted a few things.
- You beefed up the ammo limits on the zorchers. Given the Flemoid-laden nature of your mod, I imagine that this is a good thing....
- After the blue key door on the first level, there's a door that's wider than the texture for it, making it look rather sloppy. You could either make the hallway less wide or make a new texture for the door in question.
- The cheat thing really bothers me. Now, I don't cheat when playing games through -- I'm an honest player. However, after winning, I like to mess around, see what I missed, and just goof off. I don't like how you messed the cheats up, and I'm not pleased with the fact that you edited the majority of them to use special characters, either. Also, cheats are good for bypassing bugs or stuff that would otherwise make gameplay impossible
All in all, I really like your levels. Good design, and something you don't see very often. There's real talent in these.
slimeinator - December 23, 2007 06:09 AM (GMT)
Ya know, I've been thinking about the cheat thing, and I got rid of it for the next release. The door thing also bothers me, and I keep forgetting to fix it... :(
And yes, the beefed-up ammo limits were meant to help the player against armies of Flemoids attacking. lol
UPDATE: Release three coming soon! This next level is gonna be REALLY complex. It's probably gonna come out this weekend or next week.
slimeinator - December 28, 2007 05:33 AM (GMT)
Sorry for the double post.
But I am going to work on some new sprites for the Mancubus conversion (unnamed as of yet,) so I might finish my level before that, or I might not.
The Slimeinator - December 28, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
P. S. The new level's probably gonna come out tomorrow, and THIS IS MY OTHER ACCOUNT.
I'm obsessive compulsive about capital letters, and I didn't know I could use them in the forums, because I didn't look around enough. :duh:
Replica - December 28, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
please hit the edit button. And why the feth did you make a new acount???
slimeinator - December 29, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
I didn't...
BUT WHEN I FIND OUT WHO'S POSING AS ME...
atariangamer - December 29, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)

Did we acquire a schizophreniac? or does someone not like you? Do you have anyone that knows who you are, your account name, and such that lives near you? Dude, this is kinda freaky...(cue twilight zone music)
slimeinator - December 29, 2007 04:47 AM (GMT)
I have a couple... shall I say... *enemies* that used to know me. One in particular. We used to be best friends until about 3 days ago. He knows my account name, lives in my town, and knows who I am.
atariangamer - December 29, 2007 04:56 AM (GMT)
that happened to me on another forum I used to visit. So, hows game progress? (switching subjects...)
slimeinator - December 29, 2007 04:59 AM (GMT)
It's going great! :D The next level will have an exit to the secret level (which will also be included.) At any rate, I'd say about 100% (this number will constantly change) of level three is done, and I think I have a pretty good idea about what the secret level's setting is going to be.
atariangamer - December 29, 2007 05:13 AM (GMT)
better than me...I have the good beginings for about 15 projects on my hard drive for various games...not a single one done.
slimeinator - December 29, 2007 05:40 AM (GMT)
Here's my advice: Stick to about two mapping projects at a time. It'll make life easier for you.
UPDATE: Release three is OUT!!! Oh, yes.
atariangamer - December 29, 2007 12:36 PM (GMT)
slimeinator - December 29, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
Soon, I'll post a sneak peek at some of the sprites I've been making. :ph43r:
But not right now.
UPDATE: Before I make the secret level, I need to finish my Ultimus (cyberdemon) sprite set. I won't post a sneak peek of this; the first time you see it, it'll be jumping out of a dark corner! :D
atariangamer - December 31, 2007 03:46 PM (GMT)
You should apply for a subforum...your mod grows at a steady rate.
slimeinator - January 3, 2008 06:16 AM (GMT)
THE TIME HAS COME.
The Flemoids are evolving!!! Slowly, species by species, they are transforming into red, far more powerful counterparts.
Quadrumpus --> Goober (Mancubus Replacement)
Communus --> Evolved Commonus (Revenant Replacement)
Maximus --> Ultimus (Cyberdemon Replacement)
Bipedicus --> Sputum (Arachnotron Replacement)
Sadly, however, some Flemoid's genetic code is deteriorating.
Ultricus --> Flem Balloon (Pain Elemental Replacement)
Cycloptis --> Gyro (Lost Soul Replacement)
The Larva's status, however, is unknown. *evil chuckle*
redbipedicus - January 3, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
Cool! I hope I am one of the stronger red flemoids...
slimeinator - January 3, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
You are. You're the Arachnotron replacement, who appears near the end of the first level. I'm about to release another beta that has you and a BUNCH of other new Flemoids in it, including Ultimus.
UPDATE: It's out!!! YAY!!!

Mob720 - January 7, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
Several things:
Way too hard on E3 levels.
Why use regular levels for E1 and E2?
Here is a tip I shall pass to you. Whenever you start on a new level, treat the player like they just came to that level. Give them some weapons and ammo, and health if they came from another level. And don't make it too hard!
slimeinator - January 7, 2008 04:14 AM (GMT)
The third episode is the only episode I'm making maps for, Mob. Besides, I'm known best for my creation of long zorch-a-thons.
Loremaster - January 7, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
I have to agree with Mob. The third episode was WAY too difficult. When I'm having a tough time getting through the first level on easy, it's too hard.
Also, the rooms were overly large [though I did enjoy the concept of tight corridors], and lacked decoration [though I assume this will be corrected later]
Items were very few and far between. What items there were seemed out of place [the LAZ device springs to mind especially. Such an item is normally hidden, not waiting in a hallway].
Since it is a "RUN and GUN" WAD, It's not too bad considering. My review might be a LITTLE heavy-handed since I'm not so big on that type of WAD.
slimeinator - January 7, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
Problems gone! :D

You are quite right. I have decreased the difficulty of the first level and have hidden the LAZ device in a secret room. :ph43r:
I'm also adding decorations to all of the levels, and retexturing E3M1 so that it doesn't look like you're underwater and then you're in a gigantic glob of slime.
