Title: The Smash Bros. Discussion Thread
Description: (As seen on the IGN boards)

Allen Walker - November 20, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
The topic is pretty self-explanitory. I figured with Brawl still a few months away, we could have this topic. What are you waiting for? Talk! :D

Manny Cav - November 20, 2007 02:37 PM (GMT)
I suppose it's a good idea to create a separate thread for this. We've been having our Brawl siscussions in the Nintendo Topic thread for awhile, now.

The past few updates on the Dojo have been mostly junk updates, i.e., no new levels characters (but the smart bomb update made me smile :D ), just explaining stuff we already know like Training or Classic mode.

Dude.... Kirby is the best. (I'm still playing the N64 version.)

rushnerd - November 20, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
I was hesitant to say so, but when I was younger I did a whole bunch of 1-2 page length Kirby comics. About 50 I think, plus a large story format one too. Good times.

Quarkz - November 20, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
pffft, for the 64, ness owns (followed by fox)

Allen Walker - November 20, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
Come to think of it....the Day Brawl comes in Japan should be the day that Smash Brothers (N64) should be on the Virtual Console. With Brawl,it seems that most of these stages are pretty small. I'm I the only one who notices that?

Kuwabara - November 24, 2007 05:49 AM (GMT)
I dunno, the Lucas stage seems pretty big.

Am I the only one to wonder how the Ice Climbers got into Super Smash Bros. Melee when they only appeared in one other game before that (discounting ports and Vs. Ice Climber), the original Ice Climbers for the NES? How did they luck out on that?

You think that's bad? At least the Ice Climbers were fairly well remembered. They're putting some angel guy into Brawl. I can't for the life of me remember his name, though.

Manny Cav - December 12, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
Kid Ircus (or something like that). I think he had a few games, but most (or all) of them are Japan only.

And weren't they for the NES?

Manny Cav - December 13, 2007 12:48 AM (GMT)
For clarification, his name is Pit, not Kid Icarus. And I think he had two games, both of which were released in North America with various ports and whatnot. Still more than the Ice Climbers, though. At least I think. More people seem to remember the Ice Climbers than Pit, though....

Loremaster - December 13, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
Pit's second outing was either a forgotten Game Boy game or an old CD-i game. I can't remember which...

Manny Cav - December 13, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
I think it's Game Boy, but I'm not 100% sure.

Allen Walker - December 13, 2007 03:16 PM (GMT)
Zelda was on the CD-i. At last! A update worth talking about! Have you seen the Mario Kart stage?

Manny Cav - December 13, 2007 04:42 PM (GMT)
Ha ha ha, I didn't think Shy Guys could race like that. :P I think there is one Mario Kert game that they made a small appearance, but I can't quite think of it.... Anyway, it wouldn't make much sense if Mario ran over Mario, or mabey worse (in a different way), if Luigi ran over Mario.

UPDATE!

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/

I have a bit of a mixed bag of opinions on this. I think they would have been better off not putting him in the game, not like this, anyway. As I understand it, the Captain is about the height of a United States quarter. However, that wouldn't make for a good game, so they inflated and blew into him until he grew many times his original size. It makes him playable as a main character, but it ruins the dynamics of the "Marioverse". I think they should have left him out, made a way for him to grow easily in combat or otherwise be useful, or gave him a more minor role. I don't think this was the way to do it, even if I am a Pikmin fan and have both games.

Kuwabara - January 9, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
This is one thing that's been predected by many fans for months now, and now it's happened. He seems interesting.

Since when is it the "mariovers?" Any way. I have both games to! But the question is did you ever get 100% ideas on both?

Manny Cav - January 9, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
"Marioverse" (or sometimes called the "extended Marioverse," depending on the context you use the word in) is a term I got off of the Super Mario Wiki. It basically refers to the universe/galaxy/solar system/whatever where the bulk of the Nintendo characters reside or visit. And I have no idea what you mean about "100% ideas on both."

Replica - January 9, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
In the pickmin game....

Manny Cav - January 10, 2008 02:52 AM (GMT)
That didn't really answer my question. What does "100% ideas" mean in reference to those two games, Pikmin and Pikmin 2?

Replica - January 10, 2008 03:03 AM (GMT)
Oppps, i meant ship parts........ were the heck did i get ideas???????

Manny Cav - January 10, 2008 02:03 PM (GMT)
I think I might have had a 100% play-through on the original (though it can get annoying, having to restart your good game because the time went out), and I know that I have 100% treasures and creature... "scans" on the sequel.

Allen Walker - January 10, 2008 02:33 PM (GMT)
Snakes final smash seems interesting. I thought he would ether, A: Have some huge explosion or B: send out Metal Gear. This seems more fun though.

Kuwabara - January 10, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
Snake's final smash is awesome!! I can see me having a lot of fun with it!
