I use Paint.net because Gimp is a little screwy... It does not work right on my computer...

A lot. Really. Depending on what I'm doing, I'm liable to use ANY editor, conventional or not.

I use GIMP for almost everything. Occasionally, I'll use MS Paint, but not very often.

I use MS Paint. No particular reason. Photoshop is just a bit to technical for small little images (sprites...)

I use GIMP, but it comes stock on my OS, so I never really shopped around.

I use Serif PhotoPlus v6. It's free on the Serif site.

GIMP, MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop CS2.
GIMP is mad cool 'cause it has all those neat script effects. Other than that, Photoshop is more versatile. So basically it's like this:
Photoshop: General image editing, layering, painting
GIMP: Effects work
MS Paint: Small graphics editing for pixel by pixel work, such as doom sprites and textures. Photoshop and GIMP can't seem to do this right.

When I just want to do a colored comic, I use flash. Granted, I havn't made a colored comic in ages, but still...
