hey, I found some thing from my first gaming love...SONIC X-TREME BETA!!!
I read about it all over the summer till I found this forum. But I searched wikipedia for sonic xtreme, and it said the disk image had been loaded into a torrent
I loaded the torrent file, but how do I make it work?

on tutorials, where do you find good doom maping tutorials? Like advanced techniques (3d floors, sloped floors, sliding doors) and special stuff?

please help!!!

as long as you don't pirate i'll tell you...

First set up your firewall with port address to allow it out... with norton or other cusimisable firewall you don't need to do this...

Then go into options and set your port adress to that one...

then just open the torrent and if it's good, you'll start downloading...

I just use the FlashGet download manager to do my torrenting. It works well, and it's amazingly easy and simple to use.

the opening thing didn't work, it wants a program to open it.
I have norton, but this isn't my comp, and I can't install programs.
Is there something I have to open it with? Or can someone find the torrent and download it for me and post the bin image here? (it isn't illegal, because it isn't supported by sega anymore, and the owner of the disk released videos, then copies of the disk to donators *this was illegal*, then released the disk image)

Do you mean that FlashGet doesn't work?

There are several good tutorials. Seeing as most Chex Quest maps are made for the DooM Legacy engine, just search for 'Doom Legacy Mapping Tutorial' via your preferred search engine. You should find plenty. Just look around until you find one you like.

Alternatively, you can just ask a direct question about a specific map function to one of the modders around here. We can help out with some things, though it's best not to ask me about anythuing too advanced. I can do some advanced functions, but I'm horrible at explaining. :)

who said anything about flashget?

EDIT: and I'm trying to do zdoom mapping. Most people do legacy around here.

Okay...
I tried a browser called 'wyzo' (had to install it on my usb stick) and it never worked, just sat there looking for a place to connect!
one place to get it is

http://www.mininova.org/tor/268920

here. and the better one is on the pirate bay.
IT STILL ISN'T ILLEGAL. A MEMBER OF THE SegaTechInstitute SAID SO!
(sorry, but no one helps)

...Okay.... Well, I've offered my suggestion.

And the failure to connect to the torrent could be because of a lack of seeders, something essential to bit torrenting.
