How about using id Tech 3 (Q3A engine) to make a new CQ game?
It would be called: Chex Quest: The Mission Continues...or the New Generation...or something.
Since id Software released id Tech 3's source code, This new CQ would be a standalone.

Recoding new/old engines seems to be the new thing with the Chex Quest fan community nowadays.

I would knda like it if someone would make like a freeware engine of somesort. For instance, a freeware DM3, so I could play chex trek. I looks really fun.
