Title: Designated Chex Quest Engine
Description: Can someone make a custom Legacy?

Awright, here's a grand idea. If anyone can track down the code for Legacy's features, like colormaps, true 3d floors and water, plus dynamic lighting, could you also add the DooM source and mod it to be a TRUE Chex Quest Legacy? I can't compile code, but would be happy to help in any other way. I think a CQ Legacy is just what the next release of TUCQ needs, and it would eliminate the Large Zorcher and Small recharge glitches, and we could improve on things we didn't like! (and if you could get this under software only, you could keep the original feel of the game! Please help me get this done.

Plus, instead of the top saying stuff like *You were killed by the (insert name here)* and other doom references. That would actually be a very nice idea indeed.

Well, this would be hard. i canot but i was thinking the same thing a few days ago.
@True_Dude
you can do that with a Dehack patch

This stuff is all being covered in TUCQ.
atariangamer - September 11, 2007 12:52 PM (GMT)
yeah, but its a wad thing...not an engine thing. I want it hard coded!
Manny Cav - September 11, 2007 01:53 PM (GMT)
To be honset, I don't think many are going to be interested in making a second Doom Legacy when this can easily be done through DeHackEd, and is already in existance in the form of TUCQ. Besides, Legacy is slowly losing favor amongst the Chex Quest community as a source port for mods. If you want this, can't you just do it yourself?
Lucius Octavion - September 11, 2007 07:08 PM (GMT)
It should actually be better in gzdoom if it was on it. It wouldn't matter if it was hard coded or not.

I had an idea like this a spell back.
Doom Legacy is dead. Boingo is moving the project to GZDoom

Whoa! Wait a minute! We don't know this for a surety... do we?
GameMaster - September 12, 2007 01:18 AM (GMT)
i think xbolt or zorcher told me...
seems true cause i hear rumores that doom legacy is fixing to shut down and it has been 2+ years since an update.....
GZDoom would be a logical move. I think bloingo already has.
Lucius Octavion - September 12, 2007 09:15 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't get my hopes up about boingo doing anything. He does good work, but you know he's kind of slow on it. Same thing with me.
atariangamer - September 16, 2007 06:10 PM (GMT)
ok, mabey not legacy, but gzdoom...anyway, i'll try to do it myself...but i can't do very good coding. where do you get gzdoom, anyway?

It's on the drd site. You can google it.
