Title: Giving up on grass

Replica - August 21, 2007 10:43 PM (GMT)
i give up <_< the first problem was the grass had gaps in the middle of them by linedefs. i swiched to Things, and now one room has 2500 things just for grass. making it all fuzzy and only some appear and when you move to another place more appear but the last ones dont. so i give up on 3D grass <_< .

Oh yes, that will happen when there is too many sprites to render. Especially in doom legacy.

Sorry, I know this shows some definate flaws in my maturity, but I can't help but be amused at the title of this topic.

That being said, yeah. There's a reson no one else uses it.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing actually. I thought you were saying something like you've given up on marijuana.

I instantly knew what this thread was about the second I saw the thread title. Marijuana was nothing near the picture I had in mind. :lol:

I'm in the same boat... but I knew that couldn't be it. :lol:

And yet Mr. Cali here who roomed with a dude from Humboldt last year did NOT make that leap. ^_^

Anyway, it's probably a good idea to nuke the 3D grass. Though, perhaps doing TALL grass might be a good idea for a few special areas?

Off topic, towards brain candy's avatar:

On topic:

Why didn't you stick with 2D grass?

Replica - August 23, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)

@rrppoo
