Title: RotCW Spin-offs
Description: Inquiry about some related projects

Hello, everyone.
Most of you probably don't know me, since it seems there have been quite a few new members since I stopped frequenting the board. Regardless, I've occasionally been visiting the board without logging in. It's nice to see that a lot of work has been put into Chex Quest-related projects.
One reason I finally decided to speak up again was because I am trying to organize various files on my computer. I recently came across some zip files with RotCW and Froghawk's extension, and I decided to put the contents (4 files) into a single archive with a descriptive text file. While searching the web for some info, I found that other members of this board had done their own work on those games. Namely, I found a "RotCW Upgrade 8" by Manny Cav that mentioned some work done by rrppo on Chex Quest 2D by Richie and Froghawk. After some more searching, I found a "Rise of the Chex Lord" by rrppo that I believe might be the game described by Manny Cav.
There are several things I'd like to know:
- If "Rise of the Chex Lord" is indeed the game referenced by Manny Cav
- If there are any spin-offs of RotCW other than the three I've found (Froghawk's, rrppo's, and Manny Cav's)
- If the authors of these games would give me permission to include their games in the proposed archive; if so, I'd welcome their descriptions, since they would be better than anything I could write
Thanks for any input.

I got the "Return of the Chex Warrior" on my site off of the Chex Quest Gmail archive. It was described as being "the newest version" of Richie, Froghawk, and rrppo's "Chex Quest 2D: The Return of the Chex Warrior". I archived the stuff off of the Gmail account due to some security concerns that arose awhile back. I didn't contribute anything to it; I just mirrored it.

Thanks for the clarification, Manny Cav.
I have another question: Would anyone that has the original CQ CD be willing to tell me the total size of all the files on it in bytes? I think I let some cousins borrow mine a while ago, and it might have been rendered useless by them :(.

Hey, old buddy! I remember you! Welcome back!
I never thought that ROTCW would ever be mentioned again, so I had no idea until now that it was still floating around. You have full permission from me to do whatever you want with it. I wish I still had the .GMD.

It's been ages since I've used Game Maker.

.gmd is actually the extension for older versions like GM 4 or 5. GM 6 uses .gm6, while GM 7 uses .gmk. There are a few old .gmds floating around for ROTCW, but the newest one is a GM 6 version.
