Beta1Could some one please post on how they like it?
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Oh man. I just downloaded it. Dude, why did you put so many files in there. You even put the whole TUCQ in there too, with the CQ IWAD, and Doom Legacy. No need for that. I was wonder why it was 9 megs! :D
Make you own, seperate wad file, with just the necessary files! Just your maps and graphics. You don't need to put it in the TUCQ wad. Also you have to name your wad file something else. We already have doom legacy and TUCQ, just rename your file to something else.
Replica, I know you did a lot of work on this. Your levels are probably pretty good.
I don't want to sound like a madman, but, I'm not going to play it until you cut the size of the download down and create a seperate WAD file with just your mod in it.
Replica - July 11, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
i did that because, the wad wont alow you to play it in doombuilder. i'll fix it though.
actualy i needed to fix a door and a script to!
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 01:24 AM (GMT)
Ok, man. If you can't play it in DB, then it's a lot simpler just to go into the doom legacy launcher and run TUCQ and your mod at the same time. -_-
Replica - July 11, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 02:37 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that's better than before but it is not necessary to merger your wad with TUCQ.
Replica - July 11, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 03:48 AM (GMT)
Then why is almost everything from TUCQ in this WAD?
GameMaster - July 11, 2007 04:05 AM (GMT)
I still find the download rather large. Replica, could you just include your cq3 PWAD only?
Manny Cav - July 11, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
The batch files and readme do not take up much space at all. He should include them, or the readme at the very least.

@Lucius Octavion and Gamemaster  You dont run it threw TUCQ, it is TUCQ. when i first started, I got Premision to edit his wad. i told him in time i would plan on changing almost anything. the reason i did this is because as you all know. i dont have doom. and this was the biggest "START" out wad for my first project..... yes my first. i made a ton of maps, but never projects... also it gave me more flemoids in a bottel Larva, and Quadrumpis. This is probably why it is so big.
it includes:
:The WAD file
:The Read me
:two BAT files
and thats it.
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
Replica, I think you are misunderstanding something here. For now you don't have to edit TUCQ because you are not replacing much at all from it. Just make a WAD with only the stuff you are replacing.
You see, all the sprites and everything you have in there, from TUCQ is not necessary. If we ran a PWAD with just your stuff in it, through TUCQ (which we already have), it will still work and your stuff will still replace TUCQ lumps. Right now most of it is maps.
Replica - July 11, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
i forgot to add i was having a little dificulty, geting the textures to work  so you want me to seperate them?
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 06:05 PM (GMT)
I don't mind if you put the textures in but you shouldn't have to put all the other stuff in unless you are replacing it. I can see what you mean on the textures though, I do the same thing with them as a matter of fact.
Replica - July 11, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
That is what i'm doing. i'm replacing the textures. say did you play it yet?
rrppo - July 11, 2007 06:18 PM (GMT)
Can someone review the actual levels? I'm on a Mac, I can't play them.
Replica - July 11, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
what do you mean exactly? and why cant you play them with a mac? im lost
edit = Is any one actualy going to download it? besides Lucius Octavion? its for downloading, not deceration <_<
GameMaster - July 11, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
I would download, but im on dialup.
Anything over 3 - 4MB is out of the question
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
I'm trying to play it and I get an error saying that legacy.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. I can't figure out why either. So I can't play it at the moment. I don't know why it has an error.
Replica - July 11, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
 are you running it threw the Bat? or Doombuilder?
Lucius Octavion - July 11, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
I tried the batch file and the legacy launcher.
Replica - July 11, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
 weird. wait! the loading picture is messed up. can you try and fix that in xwe?
i tried downloading it and no errors. try redownloadingit
Lucius Octavion - July 12, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
Well, does it work for you? I don't even know what you want me to fix.
Replica - July 12, 2007 03:02 AM (GMT)
i tried downloading it and no errors. try redownloading it.
the loading screen, a little box appears with a loading proggress at the bottem.
in the wad its called the CONSBACK
GameMaster - July 13, 2007 02:24 PM (GMT)
do you mean the little legacy loading box when you launch a game?
it does get weird colors sometimes. I was playing boingo's peoples doom once and it was all garbled with random colors. legacy bug, maybe.
Replica - July 13, 2007 08:03 PM (GMT)
ya thats it. so has any one played it?
GameMaster - July 13, 2007 09:37 PM (GMT)
Like I said, anything over 3MB is impossible.

Maybe one of these days if I have an hour or so to spare.
btw replica, check your pm box at your forum
Lucius Octavion - July 13, 2007 11:53 PM (GMT)
I played some of your maps after removing the consback graphic myself.
Overall I think your ideas and inspiration are very well done. The second map was very atmospheric. I can see lots of potential in formative ideas. Good work in this area for figuring out scripting.
It's also good that you are trying to do new graphic and sprite work. This needs artistic work though. Example: the 3d grass.
However your map designs are extremely under developed and flawed in certain areas. It was like running through a maze with no purpose or detail whatsoever. They were overall very boring levels to be quite honest. I also saw doors opening into the sky and flush to the wall. There were also tons of misaligned textures.
Replica - July 14, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
  what is boring in it?
Lucius Octavion - July 14, 2007 01:39 AM (GMT)
Some of the parts got very monotonous in level design.
xbolt - July 14, 2007 05:38 AM (GMT)

I'll take the blame for that.
It's what a responsible honest man would do.
