Title: GM's New engine.
Description: What it should be.

If GM makes a new CQ, personally, I think it should be based on the Quake III engine. That's a GOOD engine. Though, it would get rid of the DooMness. Other than that, I'd still stick with the DooM engine.

Any quake engine (except Q4) is good. They made Laser Arena from the Quake 1 engine (heavily modified). Don't forget Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (Q3A FTW)

What's the difference between the Q3 and Q4 engines? I've never played Q3, but I found Q4 similar in style to Doom 3.

graphics... and i think that may be it...

i assume editing the quake engine especially for a game like chex quest is possible then? since quake was orginally a violent game, then wouldn't we run into the same problems as the doom engine?

yea, pretty much, but i think Quake isnt as gorey... i dont remember, i know the QUake 2 is pretty good, has more controls and stuff, multiplayer, but idk about modibility

Quake 4 is a rewritten version of the DooM 3 engine, which is itself a rewritten version of the Quake 3 engine.
so you're getting Quake 3.75
Quarkz - April 23, 2007 12:51 PM (GMT)
yea... that too
anywho, the Q3 engine would be good to use, they shoulda used Elite Force for Chex Trek

I'd say Q3. I agree with Quarkz.
