Title: My Prelude Days Are Numbered....
prelude97 - August 17, 2003 11:05 PM (GMT)
Well guys.. I decided not to sell my car about a week ago and go to Western Ontario in 3 years instead of this January. On Friday, I received a good offer from someone who had previously seen my car. After thinking everything over and talking it over with my dad.. I decided to let my baby go :(. The guy dropped off the deposit yesterday so its most likely sold.
Now what am I to do with all that cash + what I saved up? Only time will tell.. right now I'm looking at a Kawasaki Ninja 600r streetbike.
I still want to stay a part of wpc and I'll still continue to promote the site/club when I see luders around.

i say buy a cheap 5spd 4th gen and pimp it to the max
id love to get my hands on a streetbike too... insurance is crazy though
of course we welcome your posts no matter what kind of car you end up buying... hopefully an import though... id hate to have to point and laugh at you driving a sunfire

Sad to hear you sold the prelude Jon...but I guess it's what you wanted. Hopefully you still come out to some meets. Maybe you can find a nice 5spd prelude...I'm sure after a few weeks you'll be missin the lude pretty bad.
If you do get a bike, please be very very careful.
lude4life - August 18, 2003 07:36 PM (GMT)
Well i'm happy and sad to hear that you sold your lude. Happy to hear it cause i know you've been tryin to get rid of it for awhile. Sorry to hear it cause now your ludeless. Hope you still make it out to the meets and who knows maybe you'll find that lude of your dreams (5 spd!) Good luck with the bike if that is indeed the way you choose to go. I also want to get a rocket, but i don't think i could sell the lude for it. And yes, be careful!

haha thats pretty funny because for the next couple weeks I'll be driving my dads sunfire around until I find another car and he trades it in.
As for the bike.. I really want a 500cc(dont laugh) to start off with for a year or two.. then I'll move up. Theres absolutely none around though, so I might have to call that idea off..
Im weighing all my options right now.. Im still really undecided on what Im going to do..

(or u can save up for a 97 supra tt) :pimp:
lude4life - August 19, 2003 06:07 AM (GMT)
Well if your lookin for a 500cc bike, my buddy might be selling his Kawasaki. Its an older bike, but lower k's and its awesome to drive. Lots of fun and super light, great starter bike.

what year is his ninja? I want the ninja because I dont like the looks of the Suzuki 500..
greenz I actually looked into a supra.. the cheapest one in Canada is over $25000 haha. Im way too young to purchase and maintain something like that.
lude4life - August 19, 2003 04:03 PM (GMT)
I think its about an 86 or so. Its in pretty mint shape and it has about 30,000 miles, i believe. It looks exactly the same as the new 500 ninjas. They haven't changed the look in years. Oh yeah, its red. I think he was gonna ask just under 2g's for it. Have to double check, but i think that was what he was talkin about. I'll talk to him if your interested.

yea Im interested.. talk to him and let me know. A few months ago I remember seeing about four 94+ ninja 500's for roughly $3-4000.. they all had around 20000km on em, where the hell are they all now?!?

yea man.. the guys picking it up tomorrow at 6. as much as it makes me sad(and I know i'll be even sadder in a couple weeks), I still have a lot of decent options right now. hopefully I can get something soon so I dont go through prelude withdrawal.
my number one option is an mr2..
number two option is a newer 5spd lude.. but theres absolutely none in winnipeg right now..
third is a streetbike/car.. but thats looking more distance as each day rolls by..
slo mo - August 20, 2003 01:11 PM (GMT)
I don't understand...what's the deal on mr2? Not tryin to diss, just wondering why everyone is so facinated by them. 2 seater, mid engine, rear drive...what else do they got thats so cool? factory turbo?

2 seater is good.. its not like you can put anyone bigger than 5ft in the back seat of a lude anyways.
I figured.. if I'm gonna be looking for a summer car, might as well be a true sports car. 2 seater, mid engine, rear drive.. those are characteristics of a true sports car like a ferrari, lambo, etc.
Theyre also so rare that theres not much you have to do to them in order to make them an eye catcher. In addition, it'd take 1/3 of the $$ you'd need for a lude in order to run 13's with an mr2.
No offense to preludes of course, I love them..

if an mr2 has the characteristics of a "true sports car" (mid engine, 2 seater, rwd)
then wut do you consider a supra, (front engine, 4 seater, rwd)?
copperpot - August 21, 2003 04:03 AM (GMT)
aren't mr2s non-power steering? must suck to parallel park.
Mr. LuDe - August 21, 2003 05:07 AM (GMT)
yeah non power steering but then it's not to bad turning since there isn't much weight on the front tires
