Crazy!

Sorry moderators, I don't know if I am over stepping the boundaries for this board by mentioning the place (becuase it is not a sponsor)... But I thought this tip would be something 5gen owners would like to know about. I know the stuff I had to go though to get my fogs two years ago and I would have appreciated it if someone gave me the heads up back then.

The sale lasts till the end of the month (Aug 31) for instock items.
I with I would have got them for that price... For the amount I paid two years ago I could have purchased the JDM fogs AND the type-s Bezel AND the Type-s Valve cover. :pissed:

Look for the special price for the fogs 1/2 down the page from this link...
A & J Racing - parts specials

Craziest thing is I am going out to B.C. next week for a wedding. I am itching to check out all the other stuff they have.... Hopefully I can sneak out between speeches.

This deal was announced already but this thread is a good idea if some people may have missed the thread it was posted in initially.

Yeah, i actually ordered a pair for my car last week and got them today. Took me about 1.5 hours to install them. I went to Harvest honda and just photocopied the installation instructions from them. The hardest part was getting that damn switch holder out of the dash and also hooking up the wiring harness under the dash. The harness i got was different then the one in the instructions so i had had to guess where one connector went, guessed right and now they are lookin :pimp: in!!! Decided to loose my cruise control button. I always just leave it on anyways so i just shoved it under the dash. The only thing i'm missing is those little clips that you bolt the housing to. I got the screws, but no clips! Had to go find some different screws with nuts for a temp solution until i can find some of those clips.
Hey Jayde, did you have to cut those covers out below the blinkers?? The guys at the dealership scared me when they told me it would take a few hours to do the install cause the bumper had to be removed and those covers had to be cut out!

Lude 4 Life,
The covers below the blinkers just came off. You have to remove the blinkers 1st and they just come out. I can't remember but I think you need to take the blinkers out 1st put in the fogs then put the blinkers back on. You did the hardest part, the rest is easy. If you want it done right you should do it all yourself. :)

Only you can take the time to do it right dealers may want to take a shortcut just to get it done and Harvest honda may do a hack job it they don't do it right. You are correct in that the removal of the switch panel was the hardest part. If you did that yourself then the rest will be easy. B)

y'd you take out the cruise control switch?
i stuck the fog light switch where the dimmer is. the dimmer is so pointless!

ok those guys at honda are idiots or just want your money.
the bumper doesn't need to be removed and those covers you just pull and wiggle them out...but like JayDe said you have to take out the blinkers first

lude4life - August 15, 2003 10:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the blinkers gotta come out first in order to get those black covers off. Other than having to guess a little on the wiring harness and getting the switch holder out it was all a piece of cake. I was not looking forward to going through the firewall and all, but i was happy to find out that the basic wiring for the fogs was there! :)

I stuck the cruise switch under the dash cause i always leave the cruise on. The dimmer switch i use every once and awhile on longer trips late at night. Guages get a little bright in my eyes sometimes so its nice to dim them down. Yeah, the more i talk to the honda guys the more i think they're idiots. They just think your incompetant and couldn't do shit on your own. They think it'll take an afternoon to install the foglights and thats if you know what your doin. Did it in an hour and a half and this was my first try at it. The only thing i get done at honda anymore is warrantee and oil changes. Like to keep full records on my car.
