So ive given up on buying a 94-96, cause there are none out there. So i figure i should just get a loan and go for a 98. But all i can find are Auto SportShift. Ive heard that people have alot of problems with their SportShift, is this true?
Are they fun to use,? is it worth settling for an automatic?
Please help me out here.

were u looking for the SR-V in particular when looking for 94-96....?? ive seen quite a few 4th gens on canadatrader.com, though ive never checked them out myself...

as for sportshift... ive heard about problems with them... though some people dont have any trouble with them... personally id go with stick because it gives you more control over your car... and you feel more connected with your car... its a personal thing i guess... i know prelude97 has been trying to sell his SS 5th Gen..

If you plan on doing alot of city driving and not that much performance driving, then an SS might not be a bad thing. But, in my opinion, a stick is gonna be alot more fun. And yes, i've heard that there are some problems with the SS tranny.

Yea i want a standard thats what i know how to and love to drive. But im just looking at stuff for sale and majority of them are autos. But i just remember hearing some people saying after like 3 years they had transmission problems.

be patient...maybe by next week youll find a 4th gen srv or a 5th gen 5 speed?! no rush...right?!

well the thing with 5th gen autos are..

1) they either function perfectly and dont fail
or
2) they have problems and completely fail.. for some reason, the majority of them usually fail around 40k, 70k, and 120k.

I've passed all that.. and I dont even remotely have any of the symptoms that imply a tranny failure is around the corner.. guess Im one of the good ones :D

like steve said.. if you're doing a lot of city driving, then an SS might be better off for you. Even if you dont though, an SS is still a hell of a lot of fun.
