Title: Mugen Kits
prelude97 - August 7, 2003 12:11 AM (GMT)
I was going to order mine off john domingo.. then someone told me Motion had one in stock so I got it off them, I think I paid $375+taxes for it. haha I remember posting that Matt was selling the bumper for $299, but thats because his supplier had it on sale.
As for the jdm's.. I saw a couple brand new sets on ebay for $270us I think.

This post is aimed primarily at 97luder and prelude97. I was just wondering where you guys got your mugen kits and how much they set you back. I'm lookin at gettin at least the front bumper this summer and wanna know where the best place to go would be (not entirely sure what i wanna do with the sides and rear). Thanks in advance.

i remember 97luder telling me he got his kit used and prelude97 telling me he had to get a new bumper thru autopac but got the mugen bumper instead, he just paid the difference.
try checking out speed factor on pembina. heard good things about his business on here and on winnipeg heights. i just saw a lil business profile about speed factor in the winnipeg free press.
also, contact kcaero.com, they offered me $700 (i think) for their mugen replica kit. shipping was about $80. i'm not sure how much the front bumper was.
Paid $$$ - August 6, 2003 08:40 PM (GMT)

Around four hundred bucks maybee even lower........

Hey, thanks for the info. Yeah, I'm looking at buying the one from speedfactor. Went in there today and saw it. Just tryin to remember, didn't someone post up on here that he was selling the bumper for $299?? Cause now he's askin $349, which is still a pretty good deal from what i've found. Also planning on getting the jdm fogs from him too. His price is $495. Does that sound about right, or are they cheaper elsewhere??

Please elaborate..............
slo mo - August 7, 2003 09:27 PM (GMT)

I only have to pay GST and they told me shipping would be under $25. Just had to see how small of a box they could package them in.

i think by definition we are all ricers... but ricers with style
sometimes we just dont have all the flow we need to "complete" our cars and we have to drive around with it like that to earn a living... anyway.. something to think about... ill shut up now

well if they get it painted afterwards its kewl....but wut's the point of driving around with a primered kit on? y not just put it on after you get it painted?
some guy in my area had a custom paint job with a primered kit on. my question is y not just get everything painted at the same time? yeah i know money could be a issue but tahts y you save up, do it all at the same time and you have a less chance of the paint not matching.
hey i'm not a ricer...i'm a oem jdm whore :D :P
EDIT: same goes for getting body kits. just get the whole thing first. your gonna waste less time getting everything painted all at once and less chance of all the pieces not matching in color

hey.. autopac only gave me $200 for the stock bumper and a couple hundred for paint/install. I ended up paying an extra $400 for the bumper and install.. if I didnt know paul donvito I would have paid A LOT more. it pays to know people..

I was just wonderin if anyone has the mugen kit with the JDM fog lights. I'd like to know what you did for mounting them. Sounds like the mounting brackets have to be modified or new ones have to be fabricated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How am i degrading myself to one of their level?? I was planning on getting it painted before i put it on my car. I don't like those guys that drive around with their primered kits on either. I don't even know what way i'm goin yet. I know i want the front bumper, but i don't even know if i'm gonna be goin with the sides and rear from the mugen kit. Seen alot of other nice mixed kits put together with the mugen front end and right now thats the only piece i'm sure of.
