OK then...I'm a student living in UK. I liked Leon on and off between 1992-1995 but started supporting him fully in 1996 after his Perhaps... album and constantly hearing 'Deep Feelings Not Yet Expressed' being played. Why do I like Leon? Well, he's just a perfect guy whether it's looks, manners, personality, career, etc. that girls dream of and guys wish they could be like. Of course, they don't all admit it but deep in their hearts, Leon is an ideal kind of man! :D

Well...I'm an 18yr old guy doing CompSci at UNI. I was born and raised in New Zealand and my parents are both chinese, i can speak cantonese but cant write or read chinese. ummm i started liking Leon when i saw his very first concert on video (which i still have :P), and I've been supporting him ever since. His music, looks, talents and personality impresses me alot and of course he is an ideal guy of who i wish i could be!

I first listened to his "What if we're not just friends" album when i was around 4, and I thought he was better than the other cd's my mother listened to :lol: Yeah but then as i grew up I tried to act cool and american, which turned out to be retarded. I got back to being a Leon supporter when his "if I could see you again" album was released, then lost it again. Finally, when i visited HK one summer, his "Beijing Station" album was very popular, and I permanently became a fan. I am now 15 and i admire his personality (humble, charity, hardworking, listens to fans).

I liked Leon from watching those weekly JSG. My aunty hired them and put them all together. So like every night I was watching Leon, Andy, Aaron or Jacky... it was full on 4 sky kings gen. With a bit of Hacken. And I thought, AL is blah blah and AK is blah blah and JC is blah blah and Hacken is blah blah (not gonna give any detail, won't want other fans coming in and bashing me). Basically, I kind of cancelled them all out, and was left with Leon. Thought he was an OK singer and OK actor, and pretty good looking, and I loved how he was so humble. This was in 1992. So he officially became my idol in 1992. But I didn't even buy his CD's or anything. 1993 I got my first Leon album as a birthday present, my 2nd as a Xmas present... and then I bought them myself after that. And then I went back and bought all the ones I could find... still missing about 3 I think.

Really started going crazy in 1994. I was only 11 and I nearly cried when I thought Leon wasn't gonna win an award, but actually he was the very last to get an award, and then I was so happy, tears started rolling anyway, and I had to walk away, cos too embarrassing... so didn't even get to see him perform... :(

Saw him in concert in 1995, don't remember much from it anymore, cos I saw him again in 1998, and now my brain is filled with 1998 concert clips... hehe... Oh, and I touched his left shoulder... skin that is... hehe...

After that I was like totally totally crazy... anyone who knows me (chinese or aussie) would know Leon as well. I actually turned up to school with a photo album full of those concert pics I bought and showed them to all my friends... :D

Oh, and my best friend now is someone I met at the concert... well, not met, I saw her there, she goes to the same school as me, but we never really talked until we realised we were both Leon fans. But she ain't all that crazy about him, just a normal idol to her, probably 1% of my craziness. But isn't it sweet... my best friend is only my best friend cos of the Leon concert... gotta thank Leon... :D

Up until now, I think he is best looking guy ever, best singer and best actor. But the best thing about him is still his personality. So nice, so humble, so generous! I am now officially, totally crazy for him. Every now and then I have "I miss Leon" diseases, where I just sit there totally depressed that I haven't seen him since 1998. And I have arguements with my other friends, saying it's totally impossible that they don't like Leon... but then next morning I'll be all fine again... :unsure: (is there a cure? I feel stupid).

Anyway, I think he is a better singer than he is an actor... dunno why, but I would rather he do 2 albums a yr over 2 movies a yr. A variety is fine... but if he ever said he was gonna spend the whole yr on movies I'd be pretty annoyed!

I come from Hong Kong. I am a student in HKBU now. I like LEON since primary school but I can't remember the exact year. I have many idols at that time but I kicked out others when I studied in senior forms. No one is better than him in my mind.

I like everything about him, including songs, movies, personalities, appearance etc. I am crazy about him. Like many of you, all of my classmates, friends, relatives and some teachers in secondary schools know that I love LEON very much.

I am very happy when I see him and miss him so much when I can't see him in person. I wish him happy and healthy every day. I will support him forever!!

I'm 19. I think I'm the only Vietnamese fan here in this forum. All u know, Vietnam is still developing country in Asia, so its enterntainment is not really developed. As a reality, Leon is not really an outstanding idol in my country as he'd supposed to be all over the world. Not so many people know him. His cd's did not released out over my country (that was an disadvantage for me, hic hic).
HOWEVER, I REALLY LOVED LEON SO MUCH. When I 1st saw him in TV series The Legendary Ranger, my heart was really caught by him. His eyes, his pretty cute smile (so innocent as a sheep, hehe), his look, especially his straight nose, all those things really knocked-out me since that 1st seeing. Oh, my god. I cannot express all my senses about Leon everytimes I see him (in TV, movies, pixs, etc.). He's just like a hear-hunter for me, hic hic. 1 arrow right in my heart, hic hic.
In 2 recent yrs, I started using the Internet and my dream could started from that time. I could search for all information about him included pixs, movies, songs, etc.
I started listening Cantonese pop from that time, too. My music idols are those that someone could like (like Andy Lau, Nic Tse, Jacky Cheung, Andy Hui, etc.), but Leon is the best one that I like after all.
But, the worst thing about me that I really hate is that I cannot buy Leon's cd's. All I have are just the mp3 files that I downloaded from the Net. (Crying within 2 hours)
Despite of not having all information about Leon, I still crazying about him, my 1st idol.
I think we all know all his advantages in his personalities (humble, charity, hardworking, listen to fans, not talking behind one's back, etc.), appearances, songs, films......---> We all support Leon.....

Well, for me, I became Leon fan for 1 & half.I guess that's not too long. Since I watch the LengendaryRanger,(my favorite movie)(also my first time when I saw Leon. I thinking to myself: Why this guy is so handsome, what is his name, how old is he.... Almost steal my heart. Then I don't know where or how to find out about him, then I go on net and find hong kong popstar male, then when I saw his pictures, I said that's the guy, that's the guy. His name is LeonLai, but I always called him *LinLai*, :P

The first song I heard Leon sang is Be My Girl, it was so sweet, because I can only understand the word ComeOnAndBeMyGirl, ComeOnAndSeeMyWorld. That the only words I knew how to sing in that song because I don't know any chinese. :rolleyes:

The first Original CD I bought is HomeWork because somefans of Leon says is really good, and it is. then I bought If I CanSeeYouAgain. ( i only bought it because it has photoAlbum) then I really like that CD.

Anyway, I'm from the Philippines. I wish I could speak, read and write both Mandarin and Cantonese. Now, I know a few characters. I liked Leon because I really love his songs. He is a great actor, great singer, and a great dancer! (We can see him dance in some of his MTVs right? Like Happy 2000 and Transparent/Touming). Who would not like Leon? He's got almost everything, right? :lol:

yes you can see him dancing in those mv's. more recently, he does a whole dance (in h2000 he kinda did the same moves over and over) in the song "happiness" aka "hey". it's a really well-done music video. If you want to see even more dancing you might want to check out his 2001 "leon live is live" concert where he did dance a bit.

Anyway, that was the time where most people especially girls hv him as their best idol, but since I was a boy, so I kept it low within myself. It was until he released the song "Happy 2000" which was so unresistable, I bet a lot of u luv the tune the right?

Hey all!! this is by far the best LL board I ever visit. :) I lived in HK for 9 years and moved to Canada for 15 years, I moved to Canada just when LL become famous thats in 88 I think, so I havent heard of LL until 92 when my cousin lend me one of his Jade music award show and LL won 2 songs out of 10. Thats when I made LL my idol and he still is my idol today. :) I got most of his albums and movies. Other HK celebrities I like are Ekin Cheng, Miriam Yeung, Louis Koo, Kelly Chen.

I am in my 40's with 3 little kids and I first noticed Leon Lai in the movie Bullet of Love and Love and the city. Not the best movies but I was curious about him because he was decent looking. I was getting tired of Jet Li and Andy Lau and even Tony Leung.

And before I know it, I was hooked onto his music. His Leon Club Sandwich was quite something and I found Homework which was quite novel. Thanks for the old songs in your site. Now I have a good comparison of his singing styles. I love his new slow songs. But I am equally hooked by his techno, rap intro's. He's very clever to use a rapper as a voice over to give it the variety. They are perfect for driving and dancing.

I am now going through as many movies as I could find of him. He has improved a lot over the years and definitely I think he will be of a class of his own. Step aside, Andy Lau and Tony Leung.

I guess you can call me an on and off fan of Leon. I think the first time I've noticed Leon was in the early 90s where he was famous for his singing. :D God, I like his deep voice! ;)

Anywayz, alittle about myself. I am the founder of Our Vision Forum and live in the UK. Yea, another UK member :D I enjoy listening to C-pop, K-pop and J-pop. My recent fav of Leon's is probably 'The World Is Not Enough,' I love that song! :D

P.S: Admin, I think the forum is very nice welcoming, however, like you said, the pics is slightly a little too big causing the forum to shift to one side when visiting. But there is a solution. You can always, adjust the size of the pics on the side alittle smaller or go to the style sheet of the forum and decrease the size of the entire forums smaller inorder to fit everything in one page without the need to scroll across the page to see the forums. Just my two cents ;)
