Title: new poster

aryoc - March 19, 2004 10:01 PM (GMT)
Hi everybody! I am a new poster. I have been visiting this site for many months now, but never posted. I became interested in Leon last year. I've known who he was for years, but was never a huge fan. I was watching a lot of Chinese movies last year because I was tired of watching American movies. I came across 'Everyday is Valentine' over the summer, and after that I became fascinated by Leon and wanted to watch more of his movies and listen to his music. I think that he is very talented.
Also, there's a question that I've been meaning to ask for people that have seen IAIII. I was kind of confused at the end. I think I got this right, but I need someone else's opinion; Leon and Chen Dao Ming were good cops in the end right? If Leon was a good cop, why did Andy Lau have Leon's voice recorded on tape. And for some reason, when Andy played the tape for everyone in the end, it was his voice, not Leon's. What happened? I'm confused. If someone could clear that up for me, I'd appreciate it!

Leon and Chen Dao ming was good cops
with regards to the tape, guess it was Andy hullucinating again, afterall he was emotionally and mentally unstable

Welcome new member aryoc! Hope you come here often :)
Have you seen Killing Me Tenderley co-starring Sammi Cheng? If you liked Everyday Is Valentine, then I highly recommend it!

Yep, usually if anything doesn't make sense in this film, blame it on Ming's mental health

I actually watched 'Killing Me Tenderly' right after 'Everyday is Valentine' cause I wanted to get my hands on as many Leon movies as I could :D . I haven't seen a lot of his earlier movies though. I did get a chance to watch his TVB 'The Breaking Point' a couple months ago on cable, and it was so good! Let's just say that right after watching one of his movies last year, I've bought a lot of Leon related entertainment ever since :) ! Also, I'm glad I came across this site cause I get to meet other fans and read up on the latest happenings.

oh you've done your homework already, no need for me to give you any more recommendations then :D: the old movies are very difficult to find now, have you got 'fruit punch' and 'the magic touch'? those two are my favourites from the early 90's.
omg you're so lucky to have seen that series! still waiting for tvb to release it on vcd :(
which part of usa are you from? age? gender? chinese? how'd you find this site?
anyway, hope you can join us this weekend for the online chat, it'll be cool for new and old fans to meet up! :)

It's funny that you mention 'Fruit Punch' cause I actually watched it last week for the first time  ! I haven't seen 'Magic Touch', but I'll see if I can find it. Thanks for the recommendation! What's it about? There are still a couple films from the late 90's that I haven't seen yet. As for his movies before '95, I've only seen 'With or Without You', 'Mr. Handsome', and 'City Hunter'. The funny thing about 'Mr. Handsome' and 'City Hunter' (I thought he was kind of cute when I first watched it :P ) is that I've seen those movies before, but never noticed Leon until I rewatched them after becomming a fan and realized that that was him. I'm still working on my Leon CD collection. I want to finish listening to what I buy before buying more from him.

A little bit about myself now: I am from the mid-western part of the US, 19 years old, female, Chinese (I speak Cantonese), and I came across this site after seaching for Leon on aol.com (this was about the time before IAIII came out last year). I just happened to click onto your site and it looked pretty neat. It provided up to date info on him, and his fans are pretty nice so I kept coming back. I dream of going to Hong Kong one day cause the culture seems so interesting!

Now I have some questions for you too. Are you Chinese too? Speak Mandarin or Cantonese? How are you able to find so much up to date info on Leon? Also, I already registered, but I don't know how to go about posting correctly without being called 'unregistered'. Can you help me?

only 19? that's about the average member age here but we been supporting leon since we were kids :) hey, same here, watched city hunter (probably the first my first hk film), didn't really know who he was but thought he was cute, became a fan then re-watched it again and go, "ahhh, so that's him!" ^^
i'm a cantonese-speaking chinese too, hope you are able to go to hk soon, it is as good as it looks!
magic touch is a comedy with michael hui (you know sam hui? michael is his older brother) it's just really funny but like you said, listen to your collection so far before buying anymore! :D

Thanks for those sites! Wow you can read Chinese?!

I still need help. I logged in, then I got sent back to the home page. Then I went to About Yourself, new poster, then clicked onto 'reply', but it sends me to a form to fill out for unregistered users. :(

Only the simpler words but usually enough to get the idea of the messages.

Maybe you need to adjust your cookie settings? Not really a computer expert myself, I'm confused too...
